Painting Workshop - Oil Colors, Acrylics [Series of Works]
A 2.5 hours oil color - acrylics painting lesson.
**About this course**
This is a painting workshop with the goal of teaching people how to create paintings using either oil colors or acrylics. The total subject lessons consists of around **27 lessons** that last 2.5 hours each. You can join at any time during the course.
On each lesson the first part will be about theory and exercise and the second one about canvas time. Each participant will have the chance to work on canvas and start making paintings as artworks. All materials are provided by us.
Each lesson has a subject. We do not follow a particular order, and every lesson is actually unique and many times personalized. This means that every time the attendess will have to do something new and different.
You do not have to paint on canvas and with the mentioned art materias, you can also choose to use any of your wish. Most of the observations and exercises work well with all art materials.
It is suitable for beginners and or even professionals who want to rationalize the canvas painting process. It is being hosted by the visual artist [Miltos Despoudis](https://miltosdespoudis.gr/).
**How much does it cost?**
Check below:
* 5 x Lessons Packet (2.5 hours each) cost **120€.**
* First lesson try-out costs **17€**. You can do that only once.
* 1 x Lesson (2.5 hours) costs **30€.**
You can pay either by cash or card at the event.
All of the materials are included within the ticket reservation **except the canvases.** You can paint anything on a canvas we will provide you free but if you want to keep the canvas you will have to purchase it at the same cost we bought it. Canvases range from 3 to 9 Euros.
**How do I subscribe?**
You need to reserve a spot here and come at the event. You can pay at the event.
Please verify that you are attending so that we know and prepare accordingly with the art supplies.
**What do I need?**
Watercolors materials will be provided at the venue. You can also bring your own art supplies, it might be helpful to learn working with what you have. Keep in mind that working with colors might make your clothes dirty, but in general we try to be clean.
**More Info**
The workshop happens almost every Wednesday.
Learn more about the watercolor lesson plan here:
[https://creativesessions.art/workshops/painting-workshop/](https://creativesessions.art/workshops/painting-workshop/)

German Sprachcafé at Denizen! B1 to C1
**Hi everyone!**
We’ll now be meeting twice a week at Denizen House (Köpenicker Str. 40, 10179 Berlin), on **Mondays and Wednesdays**!
* **Mondays:** levels A1 to B1
* **Wednesdays:** levels B1 to C1
We work with dedicated materials tailored to each level, so everyone will have a place to practice and improve.
**Event schedule**
* **18:00 – 18:30** Arrival and registration
* **18:30 – 19:50** Sprachcafé
* **19:50 – 20:00** End and clean up
Please be aware that the moderated event starts at **18:30**. Before this time, we are busy setting up the space. Registrations usually take place around **18:15 / 18:20**. Participants are kindly asked **not to arrive too far in advance** at the house.
If someone arrives much earlier, Denizen may ask them to pay either for a drink (consumption) or for a **day pass**, as the space is a co-working environment during the day. **Please remember, our event is only happening from 18:00 to 20:00**
**How the Sprachcafé works**
We use different materials to help participants gain confidence in German. Together with whiteboards and our volunteers, the Sprachcafé is based on **interactive conversations** in small groups.
**Participation fee**
The Sprachcafé has a **participation fee of 5 €**, which helps cover organizational costs and **includes one soft drink for free**.
Tickets can be purchased directly on the day of the event, card and cash payments are accepted.
As the Sprachcafé has become very popular, we now need to **limit the number of participants**. Please understand this measure; it ensures that everyone has a comfortable space to practice.
We kindly ask you to be **rücksichtsvoll** and only RSVP “Yes” if you are certain you can attend.
If your plans change at the last minute, please update your RSVP so someone on the waiting list can take your spot.
Getting your ticket early can help secure your place.
**Please note**
Our event will begin **promptly** at the scheduled start time.
If you arrive late, we cannot guarantee your participation, even if you have a ticket or have RSVP’d. We encourage all guests to arrive on time to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
**About Denizen**
Denizen is a new-style co-working space focused on being an integral part of local communities. Located on the ground floor of the historic Eiswerk on Köpenicker Straße in Kreuzberg, Denizen House is a communal place providing work, refreshment, and recreational facilities throughout the day.

STARRY HOUR; Zeiss-Großplanetarium
TRAVEL WELL:
People with superior communication abilities travel better. Fact. We make our own luck by communicating the best we can. Maybe I’m part idiot, but I believe in the innate decency of people, that people will be respectful, and that if someone does not update their RSVP and fails to attend it could be that they have had a serious accident and are in hospital. I suspect however, that many people are simply very inconsiderate, inconsiderate of the effort and time that go into organising gatherings. Communication begins the morning of the gathering, several hours before the gathering, and the method of communication is the democratic and securest messenger: Signal Messenger, which is also owned by a non-profit foundation, not by a billionaire.
ENGLISH:
Fantastic Berliners,
on Thursday 26th of March we are visiting the Zeiss Major Planetarium for the Starry Hour at 6:30pm.
https://www.planetarium.berlin/veranstaltungen/sternstunde
You need to buy a ticket...
https://planetarium-berlin.ticketfritz.de/Event/Detail?Event=11322
This Starry Hour is in German, as far as I’m aware. From experience I know that we need quite good German language skills to understand a Starry Hour.
We are meeting from 5:30pm at the Zeiss Major Planetarium, Prenzlauer Allee 80, near S Prenzlauer Allee, where there is seating and possibly also a Café or Bar.
Please read the comments to get the information about seating places.
We can communicate through both the Signal Group and the Meetup Chat. You’ll find the link for the Signal Group in the comments.
The question, “Does the Starry Hour have something to do with poetry? It doesn’t say anything about poetry...” was put to me. Well yes, poets often reference the stars, as far as I’m aware, which is a direction into astronomy, or even a gentle encouragement that we should keep our heads up and maintain our wellbeing. For example, the poet Philip Larkin in the poem ‘The North Ship’, in the first poem, tells with hwyl, “Under an fire-spilling star,”. For Poetry & Puls there is the context of the starry sky above us, as when we have no knowledge of astronomy we can’t read the poetry. Since we are interested in reading poetry, Starry Hours are good. Knowledge of the stars is also good for people on the move, and we like to often be on the move.
To the Starry Hour, the conversation, and the comradery!!
DEUTSCH:
https://www.planetarium.berlin/veranstaltungen/sternstunde
Man braucht eine Eintrittskarte...
https://planetarium-berlin.ticketfritz.de/Event/Detail?Event=11322

Wild garlic pesto - Berliner Lauch
A four year running tradition: We meet near S Treptower Park, walk to Plänterwald and collect wild garlic to make our own Pesto.

Let's try a Friday Night Fish Fry!
We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM.
It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily. I'll try to have signs outside Marian Hall that Identify our group. We hope to have you join us!
