Walk & Talk Wien
Walk & Talk Wien
**Do you speak English? Then welcome to Walk & Talk!** This event is suited for all people who like to connect to other people and like to walk. The beauty of this regular event is that you are in the nature and you walk around 7 kilometers. In the meantime, if you feel for it, you talk, if not, you just walk. You do something for your health, get to know new people and you will feel much better. It’s FREE, all you need to do is to show up this Tuesday at no later than 1 pm at the U6 Spittelau exit to Donaukanal.

Discover how AI tools like Fossabot and Claude can automatically catch what manual reviewers miss, from npm packages to Helm charts, and learn best practices for combining AI analysis with human judgment. **The Hybrid AI Stack: Rancher, Envoy, KubeAI and the Art of GPU Bursting - Elias Rami** **(WhizUs)** This talk presents a hybrid AI infrastructure stack for self-hosting LLMs on Kubernetes. It covers the evolution from a simple Ollama setup to a production-grade architecture using Rancher RKE2 with bare-metal GPUs (H100s with MIG partitioning), KubeAI for Kubernetes-native model serving via vLLM, and Envoy AI Gateway with the Gateway API Inference Extension for intelligent, KV-cache-aware routing. **ML(Dev)Ops at Mercari - Norbert Preining (Mercari)** Mercari is the biggest client-to-client marketplace in Japan with more than 23M monthly active users (1 in 4 adults in Japan), and over 3B listings to date. In the last years, we have introduced reranking, a ML based system to improve search results, into the search system. We will talk about the slow and incremental improvements in our ML/DevOps setup from an incredible simple in-search adapter model to an elaborated setup with multiple models, all while running under full load with latency budgets in the tens of miliseconds. **RSVP:** Don't miss out on this opportunity to elevate your skills and network with industry leaders. At the next Gründerio Meetup, three entrepreneurs will talk openly about their everyday lives between entrepreneurship and family. This panel is not about perfect solutions, but about real experiences: * What works well? * Where does it get challenging? * Which decisions help in everyday life – and which ones don't? Together, we will talk about expectations, feelings of guilt, role models, flexibility, and how self-employment and family can be reconciled on an individual basis. **Joining us are:** * Maggy Müller \| Founder of Vienna Picnics * Gloria Sonn\-Wende \| Founder of Sonn\-Wende Consulting * Philipp Doblhoff \| Serial entrepreneur & co\-founder of Gründerio 🤝 **Exchange:** Connect with like-minded people in a relaxed atmosphere, exchange ideas, and learn from the experiences of others. 🍹 **Chilled Atmosphere:** We want you to feel comfortable and enjoy yourself. Costume co-working + Chinese New Year Dinner: productivity meets self-expression
Costume co-working + Chinese New Year Dinner: productivity meets self-expression
To celebrate **Fasching and Chinese New Year happening at the same day**, we’re turning an ordinary co-working afternoon into something a little more… ridiculous, expressive, and fun. This is a **costume co-working day**, where focus meets play, and productivity meets self-expression. Join us for our **Weekly** **Co-Working Session** in creative driven lounge **Jaz in the City** — and let’s finally get it done, together. After Co-working from 5pm onward, we are going to a Chinese restaurant to celebrate Chinese New Year together! **Dress-Up Code (very important 😌)** Please wear **one piece of clothing** that fits at least one of these categories: * 🧥 A piece that has been **living in your wardrobe for years** but never had its moment * 🤡 Something **funny, absurd, dramatic, or slightly ridiculous** * 😤 A piece you **secretly hate**, but for some reason can’t throw away Wear it. Own it. And be ready to **share the story behind it**. ✨ Bonus: You’re encouraged to **change outfits between focus sessions** if you like. **How the afternoon works** We’ll have **3 focused co-working sessions**, with short breaks in between. Each break is a chance to: * switch outfits * stretch * laugh * and hear the stories behind the clothes we’re wearing This is still real co-working — just with a lighter spirit and more color. **Why this event** Because: * creativity boosts focus * play reduces resistance * and sometimes productivity needs a little chaos 🎨 You don’t need a “proper” costume. You just need **one forgotten, funny, or emotionally complicated piece of clothing**. 📲 **Want reminders or to connect with others before/after?** Join our [WhatsApp group](https://chat.whatsapp.com/K6LidaoQhe16wZ0Se9pNM6), Keep contact via [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/nocrastinationclub/) This is a soft, safe, supportive in-person space to move through procrastination with presence and companionship. Whether you’re working on admin tasks, tax return, writing, creative projects, or simply clearing your inbox — bring whatever you’ve been avoiding and we’ll gently focus beside you. 🕐 **Time**: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM 📍 **Location**: Jaz in the City – Ground Floor Lounge: Windmühlgasse 28, 1060 Vienna, Austria 💻 **Bring**: Your laptop, journal, creative tools, or anything you’ve been procrastinating on 🌿 **Hosted by**: NoCrastination. Coffee price: Espresso: €3.5, Americano: €4.5, Latte: €5.5. Donations optional. **🪑Seating information:** * If this is your first time joining us, please look for **Joanna Liu** when you arrive at the **Ground Floor Bar** (not at the hotel reception). * There is a **long table with 12 seats** for those joining the **peer accountability session** — please arrive on time if you’d like to sit here. * There are also **round tables nearby** for anyone who prefers a more flexible setup. * If you’d like to **work independently (without the Pomodoro arrangement)** but still be part of the group energy, just let Joanna know — we’ll make sure you’re comfortably included. 💛 🌱 **What to Expect** * **Drop in anytime** between **1:00–5:00 PM** — stay for a bit or settle in for the whole session * **Clarify your goals**: write down your measurable tasks for the day on a Post-it when you arrive * **Two spaces**: one for quiet focus, one for casual conversation. After each focus session, if you’re still in the flow, feel free to remain seated — no need to move. If you're up for a chat, join others in the social area for a relaxed break. * **Social start**: from **1:00 to 1:28 PM**, we mingle and get to know each other; our first focus session begins at **1:30 PM** * **Gentle structure**: we begin with a soft check-in and intention round * **Pomodoro-style rhythm**: We work in 45-minute focus blocks followed by 15-minute social breaks. If 45 minutes feels too long, feel free to break it into two 20-minute focus sessions with a short 5-minute reset in between. You’ll need to self-regulate these shorter cycles, just tune into your own flow and rejoin when ready. * **Quiet companionship**: no pressure to talk during focus time — just shared presence and support * **Welcoming space**: we meet in the creative, cozy lobby of the **Jaz in the City** 💡 **New to Pomodoro?** Don’t worry — we’ll guide you gently. No apps or timers needed. 💬 Why Join? * Beat procrastination with gentle accountability * Reclaim your momentum without doing it alone * Enjoy a change of scenery that boosts your focus * Be part of a community that shows up — without hustle Bring your project. Bring your presence. Let’s work side-by-side. 💚

Run+B-fast
Run+B-fast
Hi Running fellows, Whether you’re a walker, new to running, a semi-pro, a marathonist or a sprint star - if you want to start your weekend in an active way and enjoy the outdoors in lovely surroundings with a fun, international and multilingual group of people, you are welcome to join us! Every Saturday at 9:30 am, we meet, we run, in the magnificent Schönbrunn park, and then we go for breakfast. Want to discuss politics or the best recipes for banana pancakes? Not a problem. Not feeling social? Tune out with your earbuds - we can talk over breakfast. We are casual. You can be too. What to expect: Start by meeting Adrian, Ali, Liz, Paul and Sonia on-time at 9:30am outside the Schönbrunn U-Bahn stop (exit Grünbergstraße). (Coordinates: 48.1858130, 16.3200640) From there, we walk to the side park entrance where the “running” part begins. The important thing is that you run at your own pace. Typically, small groups of people will run at the same pace as you, so you never have to walk/run alone :) We finish one hour later, at about 10:40am, reconvening just inside the Hietzinger Tor exit. (Coordinates: 48.1858825, 16.3032647). From there, we’re off to breakfast! Breakfast Details: Anker bakery opposite the U4 Hietzing station and depending on the weather, grab something for a picnic in Schönbrunn park, or hang out in the bakery. If you missed us earlier, you can always go there around 10:45. We are a fun group of runners who don’t take things too seriously. We meet, chat, RUN, stretch, chat, EAT and we hang out over a beer every now and then. It's that easy. Please join us for breakfast after the run! The more the merrier. Typically we are 10-30 people, as not everyone who comes signs up on meetup. Important disclaimer: Please only run as much as you feel you can, considering the temperature, weather conditions, your own fitness etc... run and walk at your own pace as the organizers do not assume any liability for any injuries or health issues. Hike from Hütteldorf to Rodaun
Hike from Hütteldorf to Rodaun
Hi everyone, On **Sunday, 22.02.2026,** I am planning to continue last week’s hike and go around the western part of Vienna, starting at Hütteldorf U4 train station. We will hike along and outside the wall of the Lainzer Tiergarten, past the Lainzer Tor to Georgenberg with Wotruba Church and the Hermann Mucke open-air planetarium. We will continue partly along the Lainzer Tiergarten wall to Kaufberg, Breitenfurt Ost, Doktorberg, and Eichkogel, finishing at Rodaun (tramway line 60). You can decide during the hike how far you’d like to go. Walking all the way from Hütteldorf to Rodaun is optional and only recommended if you feel fit and motivated on the day. There are **possible exit points**: 1\. Lainzer Tor \(after 5 km and 180 m elevation gain\)\, public toilet\, bus 56B bound for Hietzing U4 2\. Wotrubakirche \(after 8 km and 330 m elevation gain\)\, tramway 60 about 1 km away 3\. Breitenfurt Ost \(after 16 km and 410 m elevation gain\)\, bus 250 at 14:36\, 15:06\, and at half\-hour intervals\, bound for Wien Liesing Bahnhof 4\. Rodaun\, end of tramway line 60 \(after 23 km and 600 m elevation gain\)\, end of hike expected at 16:30 **Meeting Point** **Bahnhof Wien Hütteldorf, 9 a.m.**, outside (south of) the U4 station Hütteldorf, at the lift at the pedestrian bridge over the Vienna River (see the photo below). **Hike Details** Duration: approx. 6.5 hours (pure walking time to Rodaun) Distance: up to 23 km (if walking the full route) Elevation: approx. 600 m ascent and 550 m descent Difficulty: Easy to medium Walking the full route to Rodaun requires good basic fitness Shorter options are possible Pace: Comfortable and social, with regular short breaks **Group Pace & Staying Together** Fun (but serious) group disclaimer: If you sprint ahead and disappear, I will assume you’ve chosen a new life among wild boars, dog walkers, and people power-walking in jeans. Running ahead voids all group benefits, including navigation, moral support, access to snacks, and protection from aggressive squirrels. By running ahead, you explicitly accept these terms and conditions. **Practical Notes** I’ll send a weather update on Thursday evening to everyone who’s registered. Dress warmly in layers. Wear sturdy, winter-appropriate hiking shoes. **Bring your own snacks and drinks (at least 1 liter of water)**. There will be no hut or restaurant stop along the route. **Some sections may be muddy or slightly icy, depending on the weather.** **Disclaimer** As always, this is a free, private leisure activity. I’m not a certified hiking guide, and participation is at your own responsibility and risk. Looking forward to seeing you for this winter walk across Vienna. Christian

Rhino Barn Tour @ The Wilds
Rhino Barn Tour @ The Wilds
**Summary** For this event, we will do the [Rhino Barn Tour](https://www.thewilds.org/rhino-barn-tour) at [The Wilds](https://www.thewilds.org/), a ten-thousand acre conservation center in Muskingum County. It is the largest such center in North America and one of the largest in the entire world. During this tour, we'll visit The Wilds' rhino herd in their state-of-the-art heated barns and learn how The Wilds' animal management team takes care of one of the largest herds of rhinos outside of Africa and Asia. **The date and time of this tour** We will be doing the 1:00 p.m. [Rhino Barn Tour](https://www.thewilds.org/rhino-barn-tour) on Saturday, February 28. The tour is scheduled to last 90 minutes. **What you need to do to attend** Signing up here on Meetup will not get you into The Wilds for the tour. You must go out to The Wilds' [website](https://www.thewilds.org/) and [buy a ticket](https://www.thewilds.org/rhino-barn-tour). Please [purchase your ticket](https://www.thewilds.org/rhino-barn-tour), then sign up here on Meetup so I know how many to expect. **Attendance cap** There are only eight total slots/tickets available for this tour. As I obviously have already bought one of the tickets, that leaves seven spaces for everyone else. If you are interested in this event, I urge you to [buy a ticket](https://www.thewilds.org/rhino-barn-tour) at The Wilds' website as soon as possible. Since their website is obviously public, nothing prevents other people having nothing to do with *GOhio!* from buying their own tickets, thereby potentially taking an available slot away from you. **Additional notes on attendance** I have now run several events at The Wilds. While the location of The Wilds and the pricing of the tickets generally leads to small turnouts, the people who have gone have all enjoyed it and were glad they went. If you've never been to The Wilds and you like zoos or animals at all, you are likely to find any tour at The Wilds to be a rewarding experience. **Tickets and pricing** [Tickets](https://www.thewilds.org/rhino-barn-tour) for this tour are $95, or $76 if you're a Wilds' member. I've posted screen shots, below, to help you be sure you're buying tickets for the correct event. Wilds' memberships pay for themselves if you go to The Wilds at least twice a year, and [Columbus Zoo members](https://www.columbuszoo.org/membership) get a discount on memberships to The Wilds. I will always run at least two events a year at The Wilds. Tickets for all Wilds' tours must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance of the actual tour. **Cancellations and refunds** Per The Wilds' [Cancellation Policy](https://www.thewilds.org/policies): *In order to be eligible for refund and accrue no rescheduling fees, cancellations must be made at least 14 days in advance of reservation. Cancellations made within 14 days of reservation will not receive a refund.* You may [contact The Wilds](https://www.thewilds.org/contact) at (740) 638-5030 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., or you can email them at information@thewilds.org. **Waiver of liability** After you purchase your ticket, you will likely be asked to fill out a waiver of liability. This is a very short document and should take you no more than two minutes to complete. **Where we'll meet** We will meet at The Wilds, whose actual address is [14000 International Rd, Cumberland, OH 43732](https://www.google.com/maps/place/14000+International+Rd,+Cumberland,+OH+43732/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x8837dae07a595557:0xa1ceca93325a8bd1?sa=X&ved=1t:242&ictx=111). Please try to be there by 12:30 p.m. For most Wilds' tours, a shuttle bus will take you to the actual spot of the tour. So think of this as though you're going to the airport to catch a flight. It helps to be on time. The Wilds generally asks that people arrive at least thirty minutes because the scheduled start time of their tour. **GPS / Getting to The Wilds** The Wilds is in a very rural area, but I've never had a problem getting there with my GPS (I have Verizon). I've also uploaded a JPG map, below, of Muskingum County. Sometimes, though, it's hard to get a signal when you're at The Wilds and getting ready to leave. So you might want to consider downloading an offline map in Google Maps. Your cell phone should pick up a signal, however, within a few minutes after you leave. The Wilds' Visitor Center does have free Wi-Fi. **Carpooling?** If you want to carpool, I recommend discussing this in the comments, below, to this event. While I don't myself carpool, I will do what I can to help you arrange something if I can. **The weather** Dress for the weather. Just because the barn is heated doesn't mean it will be warm. And wear closed-toed shoes. Wilds' tours typically run no matter what the weather is. **After the tour** Once we're done with the rhinos, we'll head over to the very highly rated [Y-Bridge Brewing Company](https://ybridgebrewing.com/). The brewery is about thirty minutes from The Wilds, and it will be on the way back to Columbus for most, if not all, of us. The brewery's actual address is [1417 Linden Ave Ste D, Zanesville, OH 43701](https://www.google.com/maps/place/1417+Linden+Ave+d,+Zanesville,+OH+43701/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x8837edd6cc50824f:0xe3a0af1ccb2aefbf?sa=X&ved=1t:242&ictx=111). Y-Bridge Brewing does not serve food; however, they have several [food options](https://ybridgebrewing.com/food-options). I encourage you to check these out ahead of time on their website for yourself. However, here are a few of them: *Within walking distance -- 120 feet away* * [Angry Bull Saloon](https://www.facebook.com/AngryBullSaloonZanesville/) (pizza & subs) * The Corner Pub Sports Bar and Grill (classic bar food) *Delivery options -- [Door Dash](https://www.doordash.com/)* * [4 Star Pizza](https://fourstarpizza.com/), (740) 452-9300 * [Donatos](https://www.donatos.com/), (740) 452-7900 * [Pizza Cottage](https://www.pizza-cottage.com/), (740) 455-6000 * [Dominos](https://www.dominos.com/), (740) 455-3126 * [Papa John's](https://www.papajohns.com/), (740) 450-4100 If you live in the area or can't make The Wilds but still want to meet us at the brewery, that's fine too.
