Shanty Singing on the Golden Hinde ship- London Bridge
Shanty Singing on the Golden Hinde ship- London Bridge
The Golden Hinde was first English Ship to sail around the world, captained by Sir Francs Drake in the Elizabethan era. Besides hearing us, and joining in singing the choruses, you can also explore the ship. And for your further convenience, there is an on board bar with wine and beer at pub prices, and a flushing WC or two. We have been performing here for a year. All these events sold out weeks before we performed. We have had top class guests who were lively, and all joined in singing the choruses, Tickets are £10 plus booking fee, and the link is below. The ship is currently in dry dock undergoing hull maintenance, and you can reach it by going to London Bridge Underground station, and from there it's five minute walk walk through Borough Market. And, by the way, in 1975, this ship sailed from Devon to San Francisco, and from there onto Japan, where is starred in the original film production of Shogun Below is the ticket link to Eventbrite for Wednesday 8th April £10 plus 10% booking fee [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/shanty-singers-of-colliers-wood-on-the-golden-hinde-tickets-1967567447200](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/shanty-singers-of-colliers-wood-on-the-golden-hinde-tickets-1967567447200)

The Quiet-ish ADHD Social | Small Group | Low Battery Laughs & Chat
The Quiet-ish ADHD Social | Small Group | Low Battery Laughs & Chat
**Hello gang, I am sat right at the back of the cafe, Centre table with sofa.** This is a smallish-group, quiet-ish meetup for ADHD brains who want to connect with their tribe without their nervous system going, 'Aiiight, I'm outta here!' Everyone welcome. You don't need a diagnosis, you don't even need ADHD. We’re meeting at **Picturehouse Central - upstairs cafe** (Piccadilly) because it’s one of those places where you can actually hear yourself think. Mostly. This is more of a tea/coffee and cake kinda venue. Sorry, booze hounds! **The environment is**: relaxed, validating, welcoming It won't be like whispering to each other at the back of the class, more less sensory Armageddon. **What to expect** A small group (human-scale, not “who are all these people” scale). A quiet-ish venue where you don’t have to shout your personality into existence. Conversation that can be normal (well, probably far from normal 😅. There is no need to worry about trying to fit in, no need to mask. A soft landing. Come late, ease in, do a gentle hello, no one’s timing you. Low-pressure hanging out. If you want to chat, great. If you want to sit and decompress near other people, also great. **The unofficial theme** How to be social without being assaulted by: fluorescent lighting overlapping conversations surprise music that one table doing a full volume podcast recording next to you. **Important Note:** If you cannot make it, please put 'Can't go'. This ensures there's space for others who want to attend 🙂 ‐------------------------------------------------------ Boundaries (quick, clear, important) Yay!-DHD is a consent-led space. Some people are chatty, some are quiet, some are pacing themselves. Please don’t push for personal details, contact info, or continued connection if someone isn’t offering it. This isn’t a dating event. ‐------------------------------------------------------- For you robots out there: ADHD | Low sensory meetup | Inclusive | AUDHD |

Amplify Her is a supportive community dedicated to empowering women in the music industry. Through live events, workshops, songwriting camps, and masterclasses, we create spaces where artists, songwriters, and industry professionals can connect, learn, and grow together. Our **masterclasses and educational sessions are exclusively available to Amplify Her members**, giving our community direct access to industry experts, valuable knowledge, and professional development opportunities. If you’d like to take part in sessions like this one and become part of our growing network, you can join the **[Amplify Her membership](https://www.amplifyher.co.uk/membership "https://www.amplifyher.co.uk/membership")** and gain access to our masterclasses, community events, and resources designed to support your journey in music. **About PRS for Music** PRS for Music is a UK organisation that represents songwriters, composers, and music publishers. Its primary role is to **collect and distribute royalties** when music is performed in public. This includes music played on the **radio, TV, streaming services, live concerts, venues, shops, and online platforms**. PRS ensures that the people who write and compose the music are **fairly paid whenever their work is used**. By licensing music to businesses and organisations, PRS collects these fees and **pays the royalties directly to its members**, helping creators earn income from their songs. **During the session**, PRS experts will guide us through three essential topics, each explored in depth with time for questions and discussion: 🎀 **Live Revenue** Learn how songwriters and performers earn money when their music is played live. This section will explain how live performances generate royalties, how setlists are reported, and how to make sure you’re receiving the income you’re entitled to. 📲 **Money from Streaming** Streaming has transformed the music industry, but understanding how revenue flows can be confusing. This segment will explore how royalties from streaming platforms work, how payments are calculated, and what artists can do to maximise their earnings. 🎧 **An Introduction to PPL** This introduction to **PPL** will explain the role of neighbouring rights and how performers and recording rightsholders get paid when their recordings are broadcast or played in public. Rave Curious? Jessica Audiffred @ Otherworld
Have you always wanted to check out a rave
but didn’t know where to start? This is your chance. Whether you're a seasoned headbanger or completely new, we’d love to have you out. On April 11, Jessica Audiffred is taking over Otherworld — and this is *not* your typical venue. It’s a massive immersive art space filled with surreal rooms, hidden passages, and interactive exhibits
and for this show, almost all of it is open. So you’re not just going to a concert — you’re stepping into an environment: 🎧 A high-energy bass set that you *feel* 🌀 A labyrinth of trippy, explorable art spaces 👯‍♂ A group to go with so you’re not figuring it out alone You can lose yourself in the crowd, disappear into another room, find something completely unexpected, and then come back right as the drop hits. No pressure, no “right way” to do it — just explore, move, and take it in at your own pace. 📍 Otherworld, Columbus 🗓 April 11 🕙 Doors open at 10:15 PM (music does not start in the exhibit space until 10:30 PM.) If you’ve been even a little curious about what this scene is like, this is one of the most unique ways to experience it. RSVP if you’re in 👇 There’s no cost to attend with the group—just the event ticket for Otherworld. Tickets are $40, plus some fees 🙄. You can use code "BassBuds" or "Bangers" for $5 off, which makes it \~$43 out the door. 🔗 [https://otherworld.ticketspice.com/jessica-audiffred](https://otherworld.ticketspice.com/jessica-audiffred) This is being posted to Central Ohio Friends and Columbus Social Connection. Whether you’re deep into embedded systems, exploring new ideas, or just getting started, you’ll find a welcoming space to collaborate, share, and get inspired. **New to electronics or curious about tinkering?** You’re absolutely welcome. If you’re a beginner and want to experiment, I’ll have a couple of starter kits available so you can try things out—whether that’s blinking your first LED, putting something on a display, or experimenting with simple sensors. No pressure and no experience required—just an interest in learning and building. While we continue to pursue a more permanent venue for this Meetup, we’ll be using public library facilities based on availability. This session will be at the Worthington Park Library in the Olentangy Meeting Room.

Contra dance with Big Scioty April 11 - Clinton Heights Lutheran church
**Caller: Kim Thompson** **Band: Full Moon Country Dance Orchestra** **Clinton Heights Lutheran Church** **15 Clinton Heights Ave, Columbus, OH 43202** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner. Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
