Discuss & Social š· Is TV making us dumb?
From *Love Island* to binge-watching endless series, to doomscrolling suggestive videos on *TikTok*, modern media often prioritises drama and banter over genuine talent. By turning attention-seeking actors into instant celebrities, are we moving away from valuing intellect and hard work? Let's discus about whether modern media rewards dumbness and if we are losing something in the pursuit of easy entertainment.
We'll discuss..
1\. Why do we value relatability and entertainment over talent and skill? Is it lowering our standards?
2\. Is this modern media negatively influencing our mind and our perceptions of life\, relationships and society?
3\. What's the role of media businesses and should they be responsible for how they reward and influence these behaviours?
*Join us for a relaxed group conversation where we explore the real life, the grey areas, and how our different cultures and backgrounds shape our views about key topics.* *Expect real talk, no judgment, and a chance to learn how others see it.*
**\*Come for the discussion, stay for the friendships. Our weekly discussion series brings together thoughtful people for honest conversations on relationships, life, and society - with warm social vibes before and after.\***
**WHAT TO EXPECT:**
* Good vibes only: we chat big topics in a chill, respectful way. No arguing - just open-minded exchange.
* We warm up with casual socializing (come solo or with friends!)
* The topic starts around 7:45/8pm, wraps around 9:30.
* š There's pizza, drinks, milkshakes and snacks available at the bar (incl plant-based options)
* And most people stay until late for drinks and mingling!
**DISCUSSION FORMAT:**
**\- Our group conversations are open and flexible\! There is a very soft guided flow to ensure we focus on the key questions\, and to ensure that everyone gets a balanced opportunity to speak\.**
\- We rotate groups intentionally during the discussion so everyone gets to meet a wider mix of people and perspectives\.
\- After the structured part\, youāre free to mix and mingle with anyone\.
**Here's a typical discussion structure, but we may adjust this depending on the turnout:**
\- Introductions and initial thoughts *(\~5 mins).*
\- Group breakouts per question *(\~20 mins x 3).*
\- Final round of opinions *(\~10 mins)*.
\- Mix and mingle\, make new friends\, get drinks etc *(\~until late)*
**Rules & etiquette:**
1\. Debate the topic\, not the participants \- no personal attacks please\.
2\. No phones\, no interrupting\, no bystanding\.
3\. Always follow the moderator/host instructions and guidelines\.

Pub Social & Live Talk: When Does Personality Rigidity Become a Disorder?
The London MBTI Meetup is back!
Calling all those with an interest in personality, Jung's psychological types and the Myers-Briggs MBTI.
Join us for a pub social and live talk in a lovely traditional pub venue.
Expect interesting conversations on topics of shared interest.
Whether you are new to type theory or a long time professional, all welcome, no particular knowledge or expertise required.
Jungian Analyst-in-training and business consultant Nick Toko will give a live talk / presentation including some slides at around 7pm for 20 mins. The topic will be 'When Does Personality Rigidity Become a Disorder?'
He will explore some of the differences between healthy adaptable personality and the more extreme and rigid presentations that might arise in a clinical setting.
Myself (Richard: a professional coach with an MSc in business psychology and many personality assessment qualifications), will be there to welcome, host and introduce people.
The venue is just 8 mins walk from Farringdon Station (multiple rail and tube lines) or 6 mins walk from Chancery Lane (Central Line). We will be in the upstairs room.
I've set the time 6-10pm so people can come straight from work in London OR come along later after going home or travelling into London.
No need to be there for the whole time.
Please RSVP, and keep it up to date.
Make the commitment to turn up, it will be fun!
Circling drop in evening
Circling is a present-moment relational awareness practice. Weāre bringing our attention to whatās unfolding in real time, repeatedly returning to whatās happening within ourselves, between us and in the shared space of the group.
We practice approaching our own experience and the experience of others with curiosity, becoming more aware of the subtleties of what is present. The emphasis is on staying in contact with your experience as it unfolds. The unfolding may be quiet and internal or it may lead to words ā naming sensations, thoughts, emotions, impulses or perceptions. It might also include movement or other non-verbal expression. The idea is not to try to change whatās there, but to become more aware of what it is and how we are meeting it and relating to it in the moment.
Often awareness follows expression and this is okay too. We are all swimming in the ocean of the unknown. Occasionally the whale lifts its head above the surface and we catch a glimpse ā a moment of seeing something about ourselves that we hadnāt noticed before.
Over time, many people find that this kind of awareness practice deepens their sense of aliveness and helps them notice patterns in how they relate to themselves and others. With ongoing practice, some people discover an increased capacity to be with themselves and others in a more conscious, grounded, flexible and responsive way ā where we can experience ourselves as active participants in our lives rather than passive reactors to what is happening internally or around us.
Both those new to Circling and those with more experience are very welcome.

Any questions, please direct message me here or email:
[robyncontact365@gmail.com](http://robyncontact365@gmail.com)
Weāll start at 7pm (arrive from 6.50pm) and will finish at 9pm. There will be some optional hang out time after 9pm.
Opposite Elephant & Castle tube and Thameslink train station, and numerous bus routes.
**Facilitation and Terms of Service**
This is a facilitated group practice but not group therapy and not psychotherapy. Because of my NARM background and own personal journey, I value personal choice, agency and emergent self-awareness. Participants are encouraged to stay connected to their own pace and to keep checking in with themselves throughout the practice ā noticing what feels supportive, what feels like too much, and what they may need in any moment.
Thereās no expectation to be vulnerable or to share anything that feels too personal or emotional and you are always welcome to speak, remain silent, pause, step back and take a break, leave or ask for what you want, including asking for support. Participants are also invited to respect one anotherās pace and boundaries.
The intention of my Circling leadership is to support myself and people in staying present with their experience while in relationship with others, and to develop greater awareness of how they are meeting that experience. Having said that, like solo meditation, itās normal that we will all repeatedly lose presence and Circling can sometimes evoke strong emotions or reactions in people which can be difficult for them and challenging for others in the space to navigate. If you find the prospect of this potentially destabilising or overwhelming, or if you are currently experiencing significant emotional distress or instability in your life that might be exacerbated by this type of group environment, or if you are unsure youāll be able to take care of yourself and ensure the practice works for you, then please contact me before registering so we can discuss further.
By registering you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the above.

Summer Social: Let's kick off summer with Adult field day at Shadybowl! FREE
Weāre bringing back Adult Field Day.
Last year was a good mix of competition and just hanging out, so weāre doing it again with some new games mixed in. Think team-based challenges, simple races, and a few things inspired by game shows.
You donāt need to be athletic. Most of the fun is just being part of a team and getting to know people you wouldnāt normally talk to.
The goal isnāt really winning. Itās meeting people, laughing a bit, and leaving knowing a few more names than when you showed up.
If you stick around after, weāll have a potluck, a bonfire, and a couple comedians in the evening.

1. Confidentiality - EVERYTHING that is shared NEVER leaves this space so that this space remains safe and sacred. There is a zero tolerance policy for this. If a man is in violation of this, they will be permanently removed from the group.
2. Non-Judgement - we respect and honor every manās truth so that we may receive the same from others. While we may not agree on everything, we commit to respecting every manās perspectives and engaging in honorable discussion with one another.
3. Be committed - honor your commitment to this group and to yourself. If you attend a meeting, please commit yourself fully to the meeting. Also be committed to your own journey. When we fail, we own it & clean it up.
4. Speak from the heart - this is NOT a space to ālook goodā, have the ārightā answers, and have it all together. Relax and know you are not alone. Be exactly who you are within the safety of this space.
5. Be supportive - This means always willing to provide encouragement to your fellow men, encourage action and momentum in each otherās lives.. Be willing to challenge each other. Be willing to hold each other accountable.
6. Participation - what you receive from this community will be a reflection of what you put into it. Period. We ask that you share your perspectives, reflect on others, and give/receive support when and where itās needed.
