## **What we explore in the circle** Each session may include gentle discussion and guidance around: * Understanding grief beyond the early days and months * The ripple effect of secondary losses and hidden struggles * How to offer and receive calm, grounded presence * Holding space safely when strong emotions arise * Boundaries, language and emotional safety * Managing vulnerability, triggers and group dynamics * Rebuilding connection and confidence in life after loss * Compassionate, validating ways to talk about grief There is **no pressure to share**. You are welcome exactly as you are. ## **Who this is for** This circle is for: * Anyone who has experienced bereavement * Those feeling isolated in their grief * People wanting gentle connection and understanding * Those looking for ongoing support in a safe space You do not need to have attended before. You are welcome whether your loss is recent or many years ago. ## **What to expect** * A warm, confidential and supportive environment * Small group setting * Kind, compassionate facilitation * Tea, connection and understanding * The freedom to simply be This is a peer support space, not therapy, but it can feel deeply therapeutic to be among people who understand. ## **Event details** **When:** Monthly, 2nd Saturday of each month, 10 am - Midday **Where:** The Net Community Hub, 70 Silverweed Road, Chatham ME5 0QX **Duration:** 2 hours **Cost:** Free, but if you wish to make a Donation, I will have a box available. We’ll continue on to Peace Haven cliffs, and onto Peace Haven meridean line, then striking coastline toward Newhaven, where cliffs, sea views and a super long pier reward the journey before the pub. Expect rolling hills, secret paths, and a mix of countryside charm and coastal drama. A perfect day for nature lovers, curious wanderers, and those craving a lesser-known trail with a stunning seaside finish. **WHAT TO EXPECT - HIKING INFO** Distance: **20km** Ascent: c.**376 metres** Estimated Duration (approx.): **5 hours walking** depending upon the speed of the group and excluding any breaks. Do you want to relax and socialize in a quiet bar while watching some movies or tv series together? Do you dislike loud and smelly places like pubs? Have you been cooped up by yourself for too long and wants a change of pace? This is the event for you. Join us for a laid-back Netflix watch party at XP Tavern— perfect setup with big screens, solid sound, and plenty of space to spread out. The bar has Netflix, Amazon Prime, Now TV, Youtube Prime etc. Expect good vibes, cold drinks, bar food, maybe some discussions during breaks, and zero pressure to stay quiet — react, laugh, scream, all welcome. How many people are attending? The venue has a capacity limit of 50 guests, and due to the popularity of our events and the unique ambiance of the location, we anticipate this event will reach full capacity quickly. On the day of the event, you will experience a relaxing atmosphere with a hospitable and encouraging community. Feel free to come with friends or by yourself. Most people come alone and make new friends at the event. When we arrive in the first hour, we will socialize, get some drinks and talk about what movies/tv series we love. Afterwards we will vote on which show to watch for each group. Then we will settle into the watch booths and enjoy a cinematic experience for the rest of the evening. If you want to socialize and get drinks, the event is free. If you want to participate and watch with the group, you gotta pay £12 per two hours.

Look for Ken with the Kens Events/Meetup Flag/Badge outside the station. The fastest way to get to Lewisham is to use British Rail from/via London Bridge (8 mins). WALK ROUTE: Blackheath to Greenwich Park (Cherry Blossom) and Thamespath to O2 before finishing at the Stargazer Pub. WALK DISTANCE: Approx 6 miles. WALK END POINT: North Greenwich Station. WALK STOP OUT POINT: We cross several London bus routes. BREATHE FRESH AIR: Give up the city streets for a day and improve your overall fitness levels on a green walk. Explore and enjoy London's abundant and sometimes secret green spaces, forest areas and surprising surrounding countryside. Meet new people and make some new friends. Walking is a great social activity. Visit parts of London, unknown to most people, that you would not otherwise have a reason to see. **Social Event**: Our walks are social walks, where the emphasis is on meeting new people, enjoying nature, healthy exercise, and fresh air. Our walks are not interrupted with running commentaries or historical lectures, although occasionally features of significance may be pointed out. As such our walks will be continuous with few stops and it is your responsibilty to keep walkers ahead in view and to follow the direction of the walk. These walks are city walks and countryside walks where all the usual risks of injury during such walks apply resulting from interactions with road traffic, joggers, cyclists, e-scooters,other members of the public, animals (farm, domestic and wild), plants (allergic reactions), uneven surfaces, including portruding tree roots and potholes and there may be low overhanging branches. In these walks we cross busy roads, use towpaths alongside water, bridlepaths, country lanes and sometimes ill defined paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Some tracks may be muddy and slippery, and conditions may be wet and icy. The walk leader is not and does not purport to be a professional guide, or a medical professional, but is instead a like minded individual who also enjoys hill walking and who is familiar with the intended route. Do not attend this walk unless you accept and consent to the above risks. The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be. Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area.
