"Words are inadequate to express the uniquely nurturing experience I had during your Aerial Relaxation Pod class... and the music was amazing! The feeling of being securely wrapped in a silk hammock from head to toe, suspended in the air, slowly rocking, with the crystal bowls and ambient music created a sublime and profound atmosphere. It was as if I was in a cocoon of total support, allowing peace to flow into my entire being." - Alison

📺🎬 I SAW THE TV GLOW
***📼*** ***Step into a neon dreamscape where reality flickers!***
**👋 Hi guys!** Join me for a surrealist psychological horror film written and directed by **Jane Schoenbrun**. This film is widely interpreted as a poignant, haunting allegory for identity and repression featuring a 90s nostalgia-driven aesthetic.
The film follows two teenagers, Owen and Maddy, who bond over a mysterious, canceled late-night TV show, causing their realities to crack.
We’ll meet for a relaxed drink at **Victory House Wine Bar** before heading to **Prince Charles Cinema**. The film’s on **Screen 1** and I’ll be on seat **F10** if anyone wants to join me. After the film we’ll chat about it and review it for **[Letterboxd](Letterboxd)**.
Let's carry that haunted feeling long after the screen fades to black.
**See you all there,**

Blood on the Clocktower is a bluffing game enjoyed by 5 to 20 players on opposing teams of Good and Evil, overseen by an experienced Storyteller.
During a 'day' phase players socialize openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies, culminating in a player's execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil.
At 'night' time, players close their eyes and some are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information, spread mischief, or kill. Use all your powers of deduction and deception to survive this game of murder and mystery.
The game will be fully explained at the event.

💀🎬 LEE CRONIN'S THE MUMMY (FILM & QUIZ)
🗿 ***For those seeking a night of supernatural thrills, A Night of Ancient Horror could be just the antidote… but beware what you unleash.***
👋 **Hello everyone!** This is the new project by ***[Evil Dead Rise](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqQNO7BzN08)*** director **Lee Cronin** described as a standalone fresh and terrifying take on the classic mummy mythos.
The premise is about the daughter of a journalist that disappears into the desert without a trace. Eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, as what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare.
**The plan:** is to kick off the weekend vibe with a fun **mummy quiz and drinks before the movie** — yes, you will get a prize and if you’re feeling adventurous, come dressed in your best ancient explorer clothes! After the screening, we’ll reconvene for a **[Letterboxd](https://letterboxd.com/movieroadhouse/) review** & chat.
We’ll share **exact date, time, and location closer to the date** so keep an eye on this page, but for now, mark your calendars for a night of ancient chills and great company.
**Looking forward to seeing you all then!**

LEE CRONIN'S THE MUMMY (2026) + DRINKS @ VUE
Details on getting tickets for movie + pre drinks below.
**PREMISE**
Lee Cronin's The Mummy - which Blumhouse wants to ensure everyone is aware does not star Brendan Fraser - is set to hit theatres next week, and the first social media reactions have been shared online.
A recent rumour claimed that a test screening for this movie led to several people, including producer James Wan, walking out due to the graphic nature of the horror on display. While this was most likely nonsense, these reactions do suggest that The Mummy will not be for the faint of heart.
"Disgusting, gross, and nauseating" are just some of the words used to describe the movie, but most critics seem to be in agreement that Blumhouse's reimagining is also pretty damn scary, and fans of the director's previous horror flick, Evil Dead Rise, should be in for a fun time.
The story focuses on a child named Katie who reappears after vanishing in the desert eight years prior, only to begin manifesting some terrifying new character traits.
The trailers suggest that Cronin has taken a more demonic possession approach than most previous adaptations of the original story, which typically feature an ancient Egyptian ruler being resurrected to seek vengeance when their tomb is disturbed.

Lock and key parties are all about matching the lock with the right key and meeting people of the opposite gender.
Fantastic venue with plenty of space and you can party all night and meet your match and win prizes later on in the evening.
Essentially the lock & key provides you with the perfect icebreaker and forms the catalyst for a very sociable and fun night out.
On entry, ladies are given a lock and gents are given a key. Guest then circulates to find a match to their lock or key. The aim is to meet as many as people as possible in one night, and have fun along the way.
These events allow for you to be as forward as you like work the room like the social and you are or stand back and let people come to you! It works great both ways.
When and if you find your match you then return to one of our friendly and helpful hosts who will arrange for you to be given another lock or key.
We call this a match, through a relationship isn’t compulsory! You’ve met someone new and now this is your chance to win one of our great prizes that are drawn throughout the evening. Return to the organizer’s desk (with your match) and present us with your open lock and key. Our host will give you both a new lock and key and you’ll both pick up free raffle ticket to win some great prizes later on in the evening but also the chance to find your ideal match! You’re free to continue meeting new people or chatting to your latest match.
If the key doesn’t open the lock, not to worry move onto the next person, you will meet plenty of people in one night, remember it is a party.
The lock and key icebreaker part of the evening lasts around two hours. After the event you will have met loads of new people so most people stay on and continue mingling. But don’t go rushing off – most people have met lots of people by then so it’s time to get down to the business of flirting and swapping numbers! You can stay in the venue until it closes and from experience most people do. You are welcome to stay on in the venue as they often stay open late. Alternatively some people will move on and dance the night away with their new friends. The choice is yours.
Venue:
Drake and Morgan Bar is eclectic, eccentric escape from the daily grind. Drake and Morgan Bar the perfect place to relax and recharge by day, then party through the night.
**Please Note: when the Lock & Key Party end at 10.00pm or if you decide to leave before, then please hand over all your Locks & Keys to your organiser.**

Profs & Pints Northern Virginia: Doom and Dinosaurs
[Profs and Pints Northern Virginia](https://www.profsandpints.com/washingtondc) presents: **“Doom and Dinosaurs,”** a look at how mass extinctions shaped the dinosaurs and what research on these events tells us about Earth life’s long-term prospects, with Ian Wilenzik, paleontologist and visiting assistant professor of biology at George Washington University.
[Advance tickets: $13.50 plus sales tax and processing fees. Available at [https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/profsandpints/nv-dino-doom](https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/profsandpints/nv-dino-doom) .]
Pity the poor dinosaurs. They lacked both scientific research to help deal with potential environmental catastrophes and places where they could have a beer and discuss it.
You, on the other hand, have the opportunity to come to Profs and Pints to hear a fascinating talk on the impact of mass extinctions on dinosaur evolution and what research on dinosaurs tells us about biodiversity and Earth’s current biodiversity crisis.
Dr. Ian Wilenzik, who has studied and taught courses on dinosaur evolution, population spread, and extinction, will leave you with a greater appreciation of the resilience of life on earth and how we’re both the product and source of biologically catastrophic events.
Many of us are familiar with how a big meteor impact about 66 million years ago wiped out the Earth’s dinosaur population, leaving us only with their feathered descendants, birds. Less well known is how the Earth actually has undergone five periods of mass extinction that wiped out nearly all life, and how dinosaurs arose from one and endured another—both caused by volcanic activity—before meeting their match in the third.
To ground his discussion, Dr. Wilenzik will talk about how we study mass extinctions by looking for geologic evidence of volcanic activity, meteoric blasts, and other catastrophic activity and of gaps in the fossil record after them.
He’ll also discuss what makes a dinosaur a dinosaur, describing their distinct anatomical features. He’ll talk about how they and other forms of life evolved over long periods of time and were affected by extinction events.
We’ll look at how the meteor-caused mass extinction that wiped out dinosaurs at the end of the Cretaceous paved the way for the rise of mammals and the emergence of primates, and, eventually, us. Looking ahead to future mass extinctions and what might survive them, we’ll talk about how that plant you forget to water might have the last laugh, as well as why crocodiles might be around a while. (Doors: $17, or $15 with a student ID. Listed time is for doors. The talk starts 30 minutes later.)
