In Volketswil heisst es: Ready for launch. 🎟️ Ab 16 Jahren: CHF 25 bei Voranmeldung via [info@volkibrains.ch](mailto:info@volkibrains.ch), CHF 30 an der Abendkasse Bis 15 Jahre: kostenlos 📍 Ort: Stationsstrasse 25a, 8604 Volketswil 📅 Datum: Donnerstag, 25. Summer by the Lake — Korean Snacks, Untold Stories & New Friends
Summer by the Lake — Korean Snacks, Untold Stories & New Friends
Picture this: a warm summer evening by Lake Zurich. Korean snacks. A true story you've never heard before. And new friends from around the world. 👋 I'm Cynthia — a 🇰🇷 Korean-Canadian author 🇨🇦, speaker, and lover of good conversations. I'm spending the summer in Zurich and wanted to create a space to meet interesting people and share something close to my heart. My book is set to be published very soon internationally by a prestigious university press in Singapore, with distribution through a leading university press in the US. It tells my family's true story — a Korean family separated by war, a great-grandmother who rebuilt her life from nothing over and over, and a reunion of my family across the North-South Korean border that most people thought was impossible. 🌸 Think Crash Landing on You — but real 🌸 I'll share a few snippets from the book, we'll eat Korean snacks I'm bringing from Seoul, and we'll have an open conversation about anything — Korean culture, life abroad, identity, making friends in a new city, whatever comes up. No knowledge of Korea required. No agenda. Just good energy, good food, and good people by the water ✨ Bring a blanket or a mat. I'll bring the story and the snacks. See you there! 😊

ZH3 Hash # 1735: The I Want to Sweat Free Freddie Mercury Experience Hash
It’s gonna be Hot!! Hotter than a Rockstar on Wembley stage at a Live Aid Concert. Too hot to wear clothes when Under Pressure. But that’s a special Kind of Magic reserved for midnight Hashes and The Show Must Go On so come dressed like a Queen or a Rockstar Queen and set your armpits free on trail. Iron that vest, polish those teeth and grow that sexy moustache as We Will Rock You around Zürich and hopefully find the Beer before Another One Bites The Dust under the scorching sun. Hare is Just Beggin’ For It **Where**: See location. Typically within Zurich Zone 10. Look for English speakers wearing running gear. **When:** We'll meet at 6:50 pm to start at 7:00 pm. There's a charge of CHF 5 for participating, which covers all you can drink beer/cider (and non-alcoholic alternatives) plus snacks afterwards. **All Welcome:** If you are new, curious, and want to get out of the house, stretch your legs, talk shit, enjoy a drink, and hopefully a laugh, then here's what you need to know: • We are a social running/walking group, physical fitness is not required, but a sense of humour is useful. • The aim is to find the '*Beer Stop*' at the end of the '*trail*' and have fun. • 'True Trail' is typically 4-7 km. Some will go less (especially those walking or walk/running), and some over-achieving fast runners will go further. • The '*Hare*', which changes each event (along with location), cleverly lays the trail (typically with flour marks) so that everyone reaches the end at the same time. • There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change. • **After Trail**, we group for \~20-40 minutes for drinks, snacks, and some fun. This '*Circle*' is typically outside, so leave something warm in your bag in winter (and bring a flashlight when it's dark). If you don't want to stand around drinking afterwards, you can head home. We occasionally all go to a restaurant afterwards. **Why bother leaving your warm & dry sofa?** If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing. Exercise is important, and this is probably the least boring way to get it. 'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (*Hashes*) in most major cities. Its humor and 'traditions' can be explored on the internet - **or you can just come along and find out.** *See you there.* We are of many nationalities, all ages, full of misfits and idiots (at least there is no one taking themselves seriously!) and always welcome newbies 'Virgin Hashers' and visitors from other groups. Task-Buddies ✅ & Brunch 🥐: Let's work and study together! 📖 💻 ✍️
Welcome to the **Task-Buddies** event of the **Zürich Productivity Circle**, where we bring together like-minded individuals to work on personal goals and share the experience of growth in a supportive community. Maybe you are building a business or side hustle, studying for a course, learning a new (programming) language, figuring the tax system out, writing code, prose, or poetry, researching new stocks for your portfolio, tackling your German homework, or upskilling for your job. In all of these cases and more, this is the perfect space for you. In fact, productivity does not end there. Even if you just want to read a psychology book to resolve a personal struggle, sketch a mountain, listen to podcasts, organize your week, respond to unanswered emails and messages, enjoy a novel, or just reflect and meditate, you are very welcome here. For any task that adds positively to your life and can be done sitting down with others (exception: anything noisy/disruptive/disrespectful), you will fit into the events. We will meet at a work-friendly café in Zürich and follow the agenda below. **Agenda:** * **Introductions and food (20-30 mins):** Start with a round of introductions to get to know each other and share what we'll be working on, buy our food and drinks. * **Productive Work Session (1-2 hours)** Dive into your individual tasks in a focussed, distraction-free environment. * **Collective Break and Socializing (\~15 mins):** Take a planned break to stretch, chat, get more coffee, and share insights about your projects. * **Continued Work Session (1-2 hours):** Get back to your tasks with renewed focus and motivation. * **Wrap-Up and Reflections (15+ mins):** Conclude with a reflection on what we accomplished, share productivity tips or questions, discuss plans for future meetups, stay back for more chit chat if you like. **What to Bring:** * Your project or task materials (laptop, charger, books, sketchpad, pen, etc.) * Respectful and kind demeanour * A positive attitude and a willingness to share and learn **Note:** Please ensure that your tasks are suitable for a quiet, communal setting. We aim to maintain a respectful and conducive environment for everyone. **Venue Courtesy:** Out of courtesy for the venue, please order something drinks for yourself. This helps support the café and ensures we can continue to use their space for our meetups.

Runic Readings
Sessions of **individual runic readings** are available for beginners all along summer, both online (75 CHF) and offline in Zurich (100 CHF). These sessions are **NOT** esoteric or divinatory. We're approaching runes as **a symbolic system of archetypes** to examine any situation or question that is currently relevant to you. *If you feel stuck in a situation and cannot see a way forward, are facing a difficult decision, navigating a period of uncertainty, or trying to understand a recurring pattern in your life, a runic reading may offer a different perspective.* **You will receive:** • a clearer and systemic understanding of what is actually happening; • insight into hidden influences affecting the situation; • a better understanding of why certain difficulties keep repeating; • greater clarity around available options and their likely consequences; • practical ideas for what to do next. Living (War) Room
Living (War) Room
Batik Tulis Workshop – Wax & Dye Textile Art (Zurich)
Batik Tulis Workshop – Wax & Dye Textile Art (Zurich)
**Step away from the pace of everyday life and spend a day immersed in the quiet rhythm of batik.** Batik is a traditional wax-resist textile art where patterns emerge slowly through the interaction of hot wax and dye. The process invites patience, attention, and a different sense of time — one where the act of making becomes as important as the final piece. In this studio workshop we will explore the traditional batik tulis process using canting (the wax drawing tool) and dye. The day unfolds gradually: observing how wax flows, how colour layers develop, and how patterns begin to reveal themselves on cloth. Working with batik often becomes a quiet conversation between intention and discovery — balancing moments of control with moments of letting go as the wax and dye take their course. Many participants find that the process creates a natural space for focus, reflection, and an inner dialogue that unfolds through making. During the workshop you will: • learn the fundamentals of traditional batik wax-resist techniques • create two small batik textiles (one guided, one your own design) • experience the slow, meditative rhythm of working with wax, colour, and pattern 📍 Location Artiloft – Craft Factory Albulastrasse 24, 8048 Zurich 📅 Dates • May 17, 2026 • June 28, 2026 • August 30, 2026 🕙 Time 10:00–16:30 (with lunch break) 💰 Price CHF 240/ session (materials included) Registration and payment are handled directly by Artiloft: [https://en.artiloft.ch/service-page/batik-cire-teinture](https://en.artiloft.ch/service-page/batik-cire-teinture) Languages: English / German For those who feel drawn to explore batik more deeply, Hazura also hosts small immersive batik retreats in Yogyakarta where participants learn directly with local artisans. The **Subagya Art Retreat** offers a slower cultural immersion into the craft and its living traditions. **Learn more:** [HazuraStudio | Subagya-art-retreat](https://www.hazurastudio.com/subagya-art-retreat)
Mäng - transformational game
Mäng - transformational game
EXPERIENCE PHILOSOPHICAL SYNCRETISM, INNER ALCHEMY, AND GAME SPIRIT. Try a live (private) session of **Mäng (offline in Zürich or online worldwide)**, a powerful self-exploration game that helps uncover hidden mental scripts and rewire the way you think, feel and act. It is a tool for a really **profound change** that follows the four stages of inner alchemy. A modernized version of an ancient contemplative practice, reimagined as a transformational tool based on psychological insight, symbolic logic, and inner strategy, it is not therapy or coaching in the traditional sense. Instead, it’s an immersive deep-dive into the unconscious mind through metaphor and archetype with a game spirit. 💡 **How it works:** Mäng is built on four stages of real, lasting change: 1. **Discovery** – Identify limiting beliefs and internal programs 2. **Uninstallation** – Let go of outdated patterns 3. **Design** – Create new mental strategies 4. **Integration** – Embed them into your deeper awareness You’ll be guided through this process by the **Master of Mäng**, who offers structure, questions, and insight, while you remain the one making all decisions and discoveries. 🌿 **Who is this for?** For everyone (regardless of beliefs, age, gender, etc.), but more than anyone - for those who didn't find answers or sufficient depth in pop coaching and psychology. 🕒 **Important:** This is a deep game. A full session lasts **4 hours**. Time slots are defined individually. Contact me directly to get an appointment. Price for newbies: 250 CHF

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for July is "Shoes" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
