Travel Now - London Chapter - Travel For Free*
Travel Now - London Chapter - Travel For Free*
## 🌍 **Travel Now — London Chapter** Welcome to the London Chapter of **London Travel Now** 👋 This is a relaxed, community-powered **travel social meetup** for people who enjoy exploring, planning trips, sharing tips, and meeting fellow travelers—both online and in real life. London Travel Now is a **multi-city travel social community**. While we host in-person meetups like this one, most connections start and continue on our online platform: 👉[ ](londontravelnow.com)**[londontravelnow.com](londontravelnow.com)** That’s where members chat, share ideas, plan trips together, and stay connected between meetups. *** ✈️ *Travel for Free (yes, really)*\* We get asked this a lot, so here’s the simple version: \*\*Trip organizers travel free on the trips they create and run.\*\` If you: * Plan the trip * Handle the bookings * Bring the group together your spot on the trip is covered. \*Free applies to the trip organizer once the trip reaches minimum participants and is confirmed. Everyone else pays their own share. No travel industry experience required—just organization, reliability, and enthusiasm. *** ☕ **Where we meet** Meetups are kept simple and accessible—central cafés, pubs, or casual venues around London. There’s no formal agenda and no presentations. Just show up, grab a drink, and chat. (Exact venue details are always listed on the event page.) *** 🧭 **How this meetup works (important)** This chapter is part of a **community-led social network**. * Meetups are informal and community-powered * The main London Travel Now organizer may not attend every event * Attendees cover their own food and drinks * There may or may not be a designated host at each meetup Think of this as a casual, drop-in **travel social**, not a guided or hosted event. If you’re comfortable introducing yourself, joining conversations, and helping create a friendly atmosphere, you’ll fit right in. *** 💬 **WhatsApp community (recommended)** We also have a shared **London Travel Now WhatsApp community** with spaces for different cities. 👉 Join here: [https://chat.whatsapp.com/GjmFuzbk0baFavZRN0JGTz](https://chat.whatsapp.com/GjmFuzbk0baFavZRN0JGTz) Inside the London space, members: * Coordinate meetups * Ask questions * Share travel ideas and trip plans * Stay connected between events Joining is optional, but it’s the easiest way to stay in the loop. *** 🗓️ **What to expect** * Friendly, informal travel conversations * Trip ideas, tips, and shared experiences * Meeting people you may want to travel with in the future * A low-pressure, welcoming environment This is a **community meetup**, not a tour, class, or sales event. *** 🙌 **We’re looking for Chapter Organizers** As London Travel Now grows, we’re looking for local **Chapter Organizers**, including here in London. Chapter Organizers help: * Host or co-host meetups (weekly or monthly) * Choose simple, accessible venues * Welcome attendees and help spark conversation * Create and organize trips for the community Trip organizers travel free on the trips they run.\* No prior experience needed—just reliability and a friendly attitude. 👉 Learn more or apply here: **[www.londontravelnow.com/apply](londontravelnow.com/apply)** *** ✨ **Come along** New faces are always welcome. Bring curiosity, a travel story, or just yourself. This community works best when members help make it welcoming—we hope you’ll be part of it.
LGBTQIA+ Coffee Brunch
LGBTQIA+ Coffee Brunch
Join LGBT Thamesmead for a relaxed coffee brunch and connect with other LGBTQIA+ people in the local area. We'll be meeting at the Thamesmead Social, a fabulous café on the ground floor of the Lakeside Centre by Southmere Lake. The area is very well served by buses, but should you need to drive, there is usually plenty of on-road parking available next to or near the venue. Please feel free to arrive or head off at any time between the start and finish times depending on your schedule. Whether you're a regular or you're joining us for the first time, all are welcome! 🌈 +++ This event is free to attend - however, if you'd like to give a small donation on the day to help us run this group and continue to support our local community, this will be very gratefully received! 💖
Great Conversations with Friends at the Pub

This social gathering is the perfect opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, share stories, and create lasting memories. We meet at table 45. See you there 👍 P.S There are always atleast 15 to 20 people show up regardless of rsvp numbers.
Bi Coffee [other group]
Bi Coffee [other group]
Hot Bi Beverages! The Bi Coffee group (a separate group) meets at 3–6.30pm on the first Saturday of every month. The old Leon venue is permanently closed, so the group now meets in a Caffè Nero near Tottenham Court Road/Shaftesbury Avenue. **The venue**: Caffè Nero, the Central Saint Giles one; at the bottom (south end) of Earnshaw Street, at the corner with Shaftesbury Avenue (a big junction); round the corner from Tottenham Court Road Station. **Address**: 1a St. Giles High St, London WC2H 8AG Vicki is running Bi Coffee each month, come and go as you please. Find us by looking for our little purple unicorn and sign. Respect each other. Newcomers and quiet people are most welcome. There are regulars from outside our group (but in the general London bi community) so even if there's no-one else listed from here you'll be in a friendly and safe group. But do please note this is a separate group from our meetup group and for most reliable updates check out the [facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/groups/bicoffeelondon/). Its run enthusiastically by upstanding bi community member(s) and heartily recommended if more relaxed and quiet hanging out in a café is more your thing. 🟣 Accessibility: The cafe is ground floor and claims disabled toilet and access, baby changing facilities, wifi, and air conditioning (only one toilet though, which can occasionally mean a longer queue for that than for service). The cafe is opposite Tottenham Court Road bus stop S (busses 14, 176). It is on the junction so taxis will need to stop outside it. From Tottenham Court Road station head south on Charing Cross Road, take the left on Denmark Street, and then keep straight. It's under the large bright yellow Lego building. 🟣 More Info: Facebook group: [facebook.com/bicoffeelondon/](https://www.facebook.com/groups/bicoffeelondon/) Old Bi Coffee website (ignore the outdated location, map): [bi.tocotox.org/bicoffeelondon/](http://bi.tocotox.org/bicoffeelondon/) Venue: [website](https://caffenero.com/uk/store/central-st-giles-654/) / tel:[02072407412](tel:02072407412).

LONDON: The Oak Trail, Theydon Bois
LONDON: The Oak Trail, Theydon Bois
**LONDON: The Oak Trail, Theydon Bois** Join Hannah, Rob and London Wildish Club as we head out along the Oak Trail in Theydon Bois. Yes, it’s technically another Wildish walk in Epping Forest. But Epping is enormous, ancient, probably magic - and we’re still not finished with it. We’ll start and finish at Theydon Bois Station, quickly stepping straight from the Central Line into ancient woodland. The route weaves through old oaks, open clearings, quiet lanes and a few unexpectedly storybook corners (the kind that make you forget you’re still inside the M25). With a bit of luck, we’ll notice the earliest stirrings of spring. This is a slightly longer wander at 10.2 km, but very manageable, with just under 100 m of gentle ascent - [see route here](https://www.outdooractive.com/en/route/hiking-trail/east-england/oak-trail-theydon-bois/335211002/?share=%7E33xtwtco%244osscqw7). Expect mud in places, crisp air, friendly people and pauses for seasonal noticing along the way. Public toilets are available at Theydon Bois Station before and after the walk, but there are no facilities on route (though the Forest Gate pub in Bell Common may help out). Much of the walk is through woodland, so plan accordingly. Any questions, just give us a shout. **What to Bring** • Sturdy footwear (mud-friendly trainers or walking boots recommended) • Warm layers + waterproof jacket • Water + snacks/lunch • Your best winter woodland facts • A dog friend, if you have one **Route Info** • Loop route, starting and finishing at Theydon Bois Station • Distance: 10.2 km • Duration: approx. 2 hrs 35 mins (steady pace) • Ascent: 99 m • Terrain: woodland paths, gently undulating, likely muddy in places • We’ll walk rain or shine — come prepared 🌦️ **More About Wildish Club** [Wildish Club ](https://www.wildishclub.co.uk)is a place for outside people — bringing curious, friendly folk together across the UK to do interesting things outdoors. It’s a bit like Cubs, but for adults. When you join the club via [our website (it’s free)](https://www.wildishclub.co.uk), you gain access to our WhatsApp community where we share events and keep everyone up to date.

INTRO TO WOODWORK – WOOD STOOL WEEKEND
INTRO TO WOODWORK – WOOD STOOL WEEKEND
**Bookable via our website ➡️** https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/intro-to-woodwork-wood-stool-weekend-10/ ⋆⋆⋆ Suitable for absolute beginners. Enjoyable for everyone. One weekend workshop. 10am – 5pm. By popular demand – a content-packed two-day basic carpentry woodwork course spread over one weekend. Beginners will be given plenty of help and more experienced students may work at their own pace. Make your own pine wood stool and take it home with you to be admired by friends and family. This is a great starter workshop that introduces the skills of how to measure accurately, cut precisely, and join planks together using dowels. In addition to this, the legs- made from class broomsticks – are connected to the base using a ‘wedged through tenon’ which is a classic woodworking joint and produces a very strong and pleasing result. The tools used include handsaws, chisels, planes, and spokeshaves and you can even get a chance to try an old-fashioned ‘bit and brace’ drill if you choose. If you are contemplating our longer ‘[Carpentry for Beginners](http://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/beginners-carpentry/)’ course, this can be a great way to gain confidence. Beginners will be given plenty of help and more experienced students may work at their own pace. If your knowledge of woodwork is a feint but a fond memory of CDT or carpentry at school, you are in the right place. Our experienced tutor will guide a small group through the design and making of an elegant pine stool using traditional hand tools. The workshop focuses on jointing wood with dowels, using and caring for a plane and chisel, using spokeshaves, and drilling with an auger. Intrigued? Come and find out more. All personal protection and the use of tools and materials are included. This workshop takes place over one weekend: 10am – 5pm.
LGBTQIA+ Woodland Walk in Lesnes Abbey Wood
LGBTQIA+ Woodland Walk in Lesnes Abbey Wood
Join us for our monthly Sunday group walk in Lesnes Abbey Woods! Enjoy some fresh air, beautiful surroundings, and get to know other LGBTQIA+ people in your local area. This will be a relaxed walk with the intent of socialising and getting to know other members of the group. Each participant is free to set their own pace. We'll meet from 10:30am outside Chestnuts Kiosk (on the side of the Lodge where refreshments are served, facing onto the Monk's Gardens), where you can grab yourself a drink to keep warm and introduce yourself to your fellow walkers. We'll set off at 10:45am. At the end of the walk, we'll return to Chestnuts Kiosk where everyone will be welcome to get another drink, relax in the Abbey's grounds, and continue chatting with each other (and maybe even reward yourself with a nice slice of cake!) ☔ This meetup will still go ahead if it's raining (to a reasonable degree!) However, if the weather is forecast to be particularly bad or potentially dangerous, we'll reschedule the activity with as much notice as possible. 🐶 Dogs, families and friends are more than welcome! While the park and gardens of Lesnes Abbey are accessible for wheelchairs and buggies, many areas of the woods have steep hills or steps. You can [check the park's facilities and accessibility information](https://www.lesnesabbeywoods.org/plan-your-visit/facilities-and-accessibility/) to find out more about accessibility at Lesnes Abbey.
