Wine Not? (Women Only)
Wine Not? is a women-only gathering before the Balancers Saturday social.
Most attendees come solo, so it’s an easy and welcoming place to meet people and settle in before the night gets busier.
London can make meeting new people feel awkward, especially if you're coming alone. This early social creates a comfortable environment where you can chat, laugh, and get to know a few friendly faces first.
Expect a relaxed atmosphere, a few light games, and plenty of time to connect naturally.
At **7.30 pm the main Balancers social begins**, and the room fills as over **150 people usually join the night**.
Wine Not? naturally flows into the rest of the evening, so you’re welcome to stay and enjoy the full experience.
Coming solo is completely normal. Our hosts will be there to help everyone feel comfortable, included, and connected from the start.

Write Together Social (Holborn)
**Write together with other writers. If you write more surrounded by others, I hope you'll join these new sessions.**
Starting up regular Saturday sessions where we writers will gather to write in the same space. There will be plenty of time for you to push forward your own individual projects, but I can provide a writing prompt, short exercise or challenge to anyone who needs them.
You can book a spot for a guest with your ticket if you want to bring a writing friend with you. They don't have to be a member of our group.
Timing:
From **12:30** grab a drink, a table and set up
**12:35** individual writing time\*
*\*if you'd like a prompt or writing exercise, please ask when you arrive.*
**13:15** take a breath (stand up, stretch, look out window, tea, wine etc)
**14:00** end of writing time
**14:00** we'll gather at the same table to say hello, compare notes and how we got on with our projects in the session
**14:45(ish)** end of session but you don't have to stop if you're mid-flow. If you want to stay on and keep writing, please do so.
I'm hosting this in the main public area of the pub so you can come and go as you please. You can come to write for a short time or the whole thing.
I've allowed two hours for the session but you can easily stay on longer if you wish. I will be there for 12pm when the pub opens to grab us the horseshoe of tables (pictured above) so most of us can be sitting in the same vicinity together. That said, it's a spacious pub so if you want to spread out and choose your own spot, feel free.
Manners suggest that you'll buy a drink and perhaps a snack or two from the pub as a part of using their table. Please don't bring your own drinks from elsewhere (water bottles included) as the pub will never let us back in. See their menu on the website for more info.
Location: The Square Pig, 30-32 Procter St, London WC1V 6NX. Closest tube is Holborn.
Timing: Doors open 12pm for a 12:30pm start and we'll finish the main session by 3pm at the latest.
Cost: £10 for hosting, venue arrangement, writing task prep etc. Please follow the steps to pay via PayPal when you RSVP. Refunds or credits will only be offered if the meetup is cancelled by admin. If you change your mind after booking, please change to RSVP to 'not going' as we often have people waiting.
Download the Meetup app (check the app store) to manage your RSVPs on the go and be notified about new workshops.
Questions or concerns? Please post a comment below and I'll respond. I'm looking forward to it already!

OBSESSION (2026) + DRINKS @ VUE
Details on getting tickets for movie + pre drinks below.
**PREMISE**
Over the past year, there’s been a new film on the festival circuit getting a ton of buzz. That film is Obsession, written and directed by Curry Barker (Milk & Serial), and audiences at Overlook Film Festival 2026 finally got the chance to see it on the big screen. A young man makes a wish on a “One Wish Willow” for one of his best friends to be madly in love with him. When she suddenly expresses feelings for him, what begins as a dream come true morphs into his worst nightmare.
Since Obsession first hit the festival circuit, it has been impossible to ignore all the praise. If you’re at all worried the film has been overhyped, I can assure you with certainty this film not only lives up to the hype, but it might even exceed it. The film introduces audiences to Bear, a seemingly sweet guy who is rather reserved and awkward. He also happens to be in love with one of his best friends, Nikki. When he chokes during his chance to admit his feelings, he instead makes a wish on a “One Wish Willow” be bought at a metaphysical shop, wishing Nikki would be in love with him. While Bear doesn’t believe in the wish at first, he soon realizes its power when Nikki suddenly professes her love for him. At first, it seems like Bear is finally getting everything he’s ever wanted. Yet Nikki’s behavior becomes increasingly bizarre, frightening, and even dangerous. It’s a fantastic, disturbing story that shows how even the “nice guys” are incapable of taking rejection, whil also delivering a classic “be careful what you wish for” tale. Bear ignores every warning sign because he has the girl of his dreams, even if it means the woman next to him is a hollow shell of the person he supposedly fell in love with. No matter how wild things get, he makes excuse after excuse, constantly putting his own desires ahead of what’s best for Nikki. The premise also has some unsettling implications when one considers Nikki’s actions throughout the course of her relationship with Bear are thanks to a wish rather than her own free will.
On the surface, Obsession is a horror film because of how it depicts modern men and relationships. Even as Nikki becomes a completely different person, Bear is still happy because he has what he has always wanted. It shows that Bear was in love with the idea of Nikki and what a relationship with her would look like rather than actually caring about her as a human being. Obsession takes this even further by adding absolutely terrifying supernatural horrors on top of the more realistic relationship horrors. Barker builds on the terror, weaving in subtle scares and ambiance before shifting into outright disturbing happenings and jump scares. But don’t let the term “jump scares” deter you. The difference between these scares compared to other horror films is that these scares feel earned. They’re the kind of horrific moments that will likely have audiences jumping out of their seat whether it’s their first viewing or their tenth. It ensures Obsession will be as frightening to watch years later as it was the first time.

Tarot Minor Arcana Course 2 dates
[🎟️ Purchase Ticket Here 🎟️](https://dandelion.events/e/o2pky)
## TAROT MINOR ARCANA COURSE
In this course, we will explore the 56 Minor Arcana in depth, uncovering how they speak to the rhythms of everyday life from emotions and relationships to work, challenges, and personal growth.
We’ll approach the Minor Arcana through three core lenses:
* **Numerical Value:** understanding the progression from Ace to Ten as a journey, revealing cycles of initiation, development, tension, and completion
* **The Four Suits** : Cups, Swords, Wands, and Pentacles, each representing a different element and dimension of human experience (emotional, mental, creative, and material)
* **Archetypes & Symbolism:** learning to read beyond keywords and connect with the deeper patterns and stories each card expresses

We will also dive into the **Court Cards**, often seen as some of the most nuanced and complex figures in the deck. Through personality systems and archetypal frameworks, you’ll learn how to interpret them as:
* Different character types and psychological traits
* Energies we embody at different stages of life
* Reflections of real people and relational dynamics in readings
This course is rooted in the **Marseille Tarot**, known for its rich symbolic language, which encourages intuitive and interpretive reading. However, you are warmly invited to bring any deck you feel connected to - each one carries its own visual language, and sharing these perspectives will deepen the collective experience.
Whether you are new to tarot or looking to deepen your practice, this course will help you move from memorisation to intuitive understanding, building confidence in your readings and your personal connection to the cards.
FREE Tea and Homemade Biscuits will be available during the course.
### **VENUE**

Join us at 3pm on Sunday 19th April at **21 Sid Coffee,** a cosy cafe and bakery in London Fields.
