Cool weather paddling clothes
Thanks Pat O for the information.
Reminder about what clothes are appropriate for paddling in Florida winter (cool weather and cold water). Fleece, polyesther, polypropylene, capilene, neoprene, hydroskin, wool materials are all good - anything that will hold in body heat even if you get wet. If you get wet and wind is blowing windproof jacket and waterproof pants will hold in body heat. Large garbage bag will hold in body heat.

Body heat will escape fastest through feet and head.

Wear neoprene booties, neoprene socks, wool socks, floor of kayak will be cool from cold water, wet feet will get colder.

Wear a hat

Bring gloves or poggies

Carry extra dry clothes including an extra hat and socks.

Do not wear anything with cotton material, wet cotton will only make you colder.

Please Note: If you hit "REPLY", your message will be sent to everyone on this mailing list
