Life drawing classes tend to involve short poses which seldom allow time for painters to adjust their paintings sufficiently. In this class we will work with a life model who will take a single pose for the two hours each week, giving us more time to adjust and correct our paintings. Artists of all levels are welcome to attend, but this is a self directed class and no tuition will normally be given. Please bring your own water-based painting material such as acrylics, gouache or watercolours as the room is not equipped for oil-based paints. There is a sink in the kitchen adjoining the studio room where water can be obtained. The two hour session will start at 2.30pm and end at 4.30pm with a 15 minute tea break at 3.30pm. Newington Green Meeting House is an historic Unitarian Chapel situated on the North side of Newington Green. Access to the class will be by the side door; please ring the bell when you arrive. The charge for the class is £12

We begin with gentle stretching and some preparatory exercises, then we will work in detail on the first movement of the form. We practice partner exercises, which are an essential part of our school : if you wish to avoid contact with your partner, please let me know at the beginning of class. We finish the class with Qigong, the posture for regaining calm. Slow down for a few hours of creativity, shades of blue, and nature at this cyanotype taster workshop at Trinity Buoy Wharf. Join *BE KA Art Studio*, Elena’s riverside atelier at Trinity Buoy Wharf, for a hands-on cyanotype taster session. Cyanotype is one of the oldest photographic printing processes – and one of the most satisfying and sustainable. Using sunlight, water, and natural materials, you'll arrange botanicals, feathers, shells, and found objects onto coated paper, expose them to light, then rinse your print and watch the image bloom in that distinctive, deep, luminous blue. No cameras, no screens, no prior experience needed. Just you, some plants, and the light drawing shapes for you. If the weather's overcast, UV light has you covered. Join us at this historic studio under the arches of Hungerford Bridge on the South Bank of the Thames, where the renowned painter and reportage artist Felix Topolski RA worked from 1951 until 1989 for an evening hosted by his grandson Lucian Topolski. If you would like to find out more about Topolski Studio, please visit the website and join the mailing list at [https://www.topolski.org](https://www.topolskistudio.org). Mark Lovelace will lead the drawing, Mark is an artist, with a special interest in drawing, who has been running classes at the Barbican Art Society, and at London Life Drawing, for many years. The studio has easels and all the equipment you might want, including a variety of drawing materials. Sketchbooks with reproductions of work by Felix Topolski are also available to purchase. Lucien will be around after the class to socialise, and you are welcome to bring your own drinks. There is also the Topolski Bar nearby. Mark will explain some approaches to drawing which reflect the artistic concerns of Felix Topolski. Individual feedback is available if desired. Mark can either help you to develop your drawing in similar directions, or he can support you as you pursue your own path. We will have a mixture of pose lengths. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available during the break.
