Fri, Aug 28, 6:00 PM**BHONG × Rice to Meet You** Sign-up link: https://luma.com/7zv3ryga Barcelona's creative community spends most of its time staring at screens, chasing deadlines, and scrolling through fonts. **Out of Office** is a new series from BHONG pulling designers, strategists, writers, and other assorted creative professionals away from their laptops and into rooms where nobody's an expert. No panels. No portfolios. No talk of clients unless someone brings it up unprompted (and even then, we'll try to change the subject). For episode one, we're starting with the basics: rice, saffron, and a screeching hot pan. We've teamed up with Rice to Meet You for a fully hands-on paella class. You'll get guided through building a proper sofrito, working with DO Valencia Albufera rice, and getting the socarrat right at the bottom of the pan. Then the whole group sits down together to eat what they made. Cocktails will be a courtesy of Batovi Elements, a woman-founded Spanish vodka brand. They just launched their latest product, a Moscow Mule RTD, designed by yours truly. The maximum amount of people is 10 so the teacher will be able to guide every person. The workshop is adapted to a beginner's level (every time people who never painted before are surprised with the result they achieve!) But also the process will be interesting for those who draw or paint already. For architects, designers, and illustrators it's a good way to discover a new technique and material and make new contacts) All materials are included so there is no need to bring anything. Look Around: The Art of Seeing
Sat, Sep 5, 9:00 AMArtists Dan Banks and Daniel Catalano lead a creative walk from Parc de la Ciutadella through El Born to Claroscuro Galeria, exploring two complementary ways of seeing. Dan invites participants to **look around**—noticing the wider field through light, color, shadow and imperfect composition. Daniel invites them to **look closer**, discovering tiny textures and forms that can become ambiguous, painterly worlds. Using a custom **Claroscuro Fieldbook**, participants respond to simple observational prompts focused on color, texture, repetition, reflections, fragments and found abstraction. The walk concludes at the gallery with an informal conversation about what everyone noticed and how attention can become a creative practice. This is not a technical art or photography class. It is an accessible, hands-on experience designed to awaken curiosity and help participants encounter the familiar with fresh eyes. No previous experience is needed. **Look around. Look closer.
