From Bay Area Jewish Singles Havurah

**6:30pm-** **Optional** **dinner** before the show. If you know of a good restaurant nearby, please post in the comment section. **8- 9pm- Show: " \*Oy, What They Said About Love"** Steve Budd wonders why other people can tie the knot and he can’t. Oy, does he wonder! So he asked a bunch of couples what brought them together and keeps them from pulling apart. Meet a Jewish couple who met on Craigslist, an interfaith pair who met at a Halloween party, and more. Budd plays close to a dozen characters, using their own words taken from hours of interviews, and weaves in his relentless, heartfelt, and hilarious search for “the one.” *Oy, What They Said About Love* (Best of the 2024 SF Fringe) is the newest mashup of personal storytelling and documentary theater from an award-winning solo performer who “sparkles with manic and irrepressible charm” (Theatrius). **Talkback-** with Dating Coach Julie Feinstein **More information:** https://themarsh.org/shows_and_events/steve-budd-oy-what-they-said-about-love/ **Ticket sales** https://themarsh.ludus.com/index.php?show_id=200519199 **Use the code COMMUNITY to save $10 off the ticket price.**

Come Sing Show Tunes!

Come Sing Show Tunes!

Thu, May 28, 2:15 AM
From Berkeley Broadway Musicals Singing Group (In Person)
4.9

This event consists of an informal concert in which the performers are all of us! We'll take turns singing Broadway show tunes. All musical levels are welcome, whether you're an aspiring musical theater star or just someone who belts out show tunes in the shower. If you feel shy about singing a solo, it's okay to come and listen. We'll also do some group singing. Please think ahead and pick one or two solos you'd enjoy singing (this is not a firm commitment, you can change your mind if you get the jitters). Depending on how many people choose to sing, you'll either get to sing one or both of your songs. We don't always have an accompanist, so after you pick your songs, please search for suitable accompaniments on YouTube (you can search for "Songname karaoke" or "Songname accompaniment"). Once you've found accompaniments you like, please add links for your accompaniments to this spreadsheet so we can have them ready to play at the gathering: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ftn_81hdqtmYb8_QlKhpyzlu4FwKDDRZGZ3YT2x8qc8/edit?gid=0#gid=0 In the second hour of the gathering we'll schmooze and do more informal singing, and eat snacks -- (optional) feel free to bring a snack to share. For covid safety, please don't attend if you or a household member have ANY cold or flu symptoms, or if you were recently exposed to covid or flu. We will have open windows and air purifiers running.
