This unique scavenger hunt is all about connecting, uncovering history, exploring Grand Central and solving a mystery. Join us for a fun, social adventure at our Grand Central Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt. Get ready to have a good time making new friends and solving a mystery. Plus, you'll find out things about Grand Central you never knew before! How It Works: * **When you arrive we will put you on teams - if you don’t already have one (90% of those attending will not have a team).** * **Each team will be given a list of clues and 75 minutes to head to Grand Central to uncover the mystery of Mary’s demise. The team with the most points wins.** * **Once everyone is back we'll safely socialize where you can share your experiences with the others.** The Theme: Meet Up Mary is a regular on the social circuit in New York. You'd probably know her if you've been out before. She was very personable, friendly and bubbly! Unfortunately Mary met a horrific end at Grand Central and the police need you help to solve her case! Join us for this fun and educational night where you will get to explore every corner of the NYC Landmark in ways that you never have before! (If you have participated in our other Grand Central Hunts no worries as this is a completely different experience) FAQs: **Can I come alone?** Yes about 90% will attend on their own. **What's dress code?** Wear what you had on at work. It's casual and comfortable. **What are the ages?** 21 and over. We'll have a good mix of ages. **How much to attend?** $25 (goes to $35 as event gets closer). **Do I have to buy in advance?** Yes. Our experience at this 128-year-old theatre society, and its original Stanford White-designed mansion facing Gramercy Park, will include: * A walkthrough of the clubhouse , which contains paintings from Norman Rockwell and John Singer Sergeant , as well as Tiffany glass pieces -A look inside historic rooms including the Grill, Great Hall, and Library * Access inside Edwin Booth’s bedroom , which has been untouched since his death in 1893 — in it, rests the skull used in his famous 100 consecutive performances of Hamlet, and a small picture of Wilkes, the only evidence of their relationship that Edwin would keep -A look at early photos of Edwin’s family and other personal artifacts and memorabilia of his life in theatre If we're lucky, we'll see some of the club's more notable members walking the halls! Room 8: Revolutionary Road — One Love, Two Lives
Sat, Oct 10, 2:00 PMYou can love each other — and still be unhappy together. You can imagine one life together, only to realize one day that somehow you are living another. And when one person decides to change something, it changes more than just their own life — the relationship itself can no longer remain exactly as it was. On October 10 at Room 8, we’ll watch Revolutionary Road (2008) and talk about love, intimacy, disappointment, and what happens between two people when their ideas of a shared life begin to pull in different directions. Before the film, we’ll begin with a short psychoanalytic introduction — a few ideas and questions that may offer a different way of seeing the story. After the screening, we’ll stay for a conversation — about the film, its characters, and what the story stirred in each of us. Not to decide who was right or what the director “really meant.” We’re more interested in our own reactions: Who did you sympathize with? Who frustrated you? Whom did you want to blame or defend? And why can the very same relationship look so different depending on who is watching? We’ll watch and discuss the film in a small group of up to 12 people — intimate enough for this to remain a conversation, rather than a discussion from the audience, and for everyone to have a place in the dialogue. No background in psychology or film is required. Just an interest in good films, in people, and perhaps a little curiosity about yourself. The meeting will be facilitated by Aleksandr Stepanov and Renata Urakcheeva, both trained in psychoanalysis and group work. Your spot is reserved once payment is received. The film ends. Haunted NYC Scavenger Hunt (Clues, Spells, and Curses!)

They are consistently well attended. Must prepay to attend.)* Everyone's favorite Haunted Hunt is back! It's a unique, enjoyable way to socialize, learn and explore outdoors! Clues, Spells, and Curses! Join dozens as they set out onto the streets of the Financial District; the site of graveyards, hauntings and some of the grizzliest deeds ever done! It will be a fun way to explore and socialize. We'll set you up on teams and give you everything you need to know to help find the clues. **How does it work?** If you come alone we will set you up on a team (or you can play with a team) and we'll give you everything you need to know to help find the clues. Each team will have 90 minutes to find as many of the clues we give you. When finished we will return to a set location for socializing. Prizes are awarded to those finding the most clues. **What are we looking for?** Lower Manhattan in the early 1600's till now has been the site of hangings, hauntings, massacres, explosions, and other not so nice and creepy things. You will be scouring Bowling Green to City Hall, visiting (supposedly haunted places), searching for history-markers and research things that happened. **FAQs:** How do I find group? We will meet in front of the Fraunces Tavern. Host contact info will be emailed to all paid attendees day of event. **Dress Code?** Dress for the weather as you will be outside. **What if it rains?** We will contact attendees with a rain date. **Can I come alone?** Yes 95% of those attending will likely register on their own but you are invited to bring as many guests as you would like (just make sure they each have a ticket). **Cost?** $19-$25 depending upon how early you purchase ticket/capacity **Ages?** All are welcome.
