Hosted by Wild Ones Columbus Learn how to clean native plant seeds for the annual seed swap NATIVE plant Seed Cleaning Saturday, November 14th, 2026 10:00 am to 12:00 pm (Eastern Time) Sharon Woods Spring Hollow Lodge (Public Welcome, Free Event Hands-On/How-To Workshop, Wheelchair Accessible, Public Restroom, Free Public Parking) Time: TBA, tentatively 10am-noon This hands-on event is for beginner and experienced seed cleaners. We'll be demonstrating how to clean native seeds in preparation for our annual Seed Swap (scheduled for January 9, 2027). If you are new to seed cleaning, you'll learn seed cleaning techniques from more experienced chapter members. Please, native seeds only! Feel free to bring your own native seed to learn how to clean it. Note: non-native seeds won't be permitted to prevent possible contamination with native seeds. Seeds will be registered upon entry. Plants as Medicine offers an inviting, thoughtful introduction to the world of herbalism, exploring how traditional plant knowledge, modern science, and direct sensory experience can come together in a practical way. Herbalist and author Brandon Elijah Scott will use a small selection of familiar medicinal plants to illuminate how herbs work through their chemistry, taste, aroma, preparation, and interaction with the human body, while offering a glimpse into the much larger world of plant medicine. Guests will have opportunities to see, smell, taste, and experience selected herbs while asking questions in an approachable, conversational setting. This special Life Local program also introduces a new chapter of botanical education at Bryn Du, where Brandon will be offering future classes and focused series in practical herbalism, medicinal plants, botanical arts, aromatics, gardening, and the many ways plants can become part of everyday life. A Leisurely Neighborhood Stroll

Teas, Campfires, and Lawn Games

This will be an outside meetup, so dress warmly and bring a blanket or coat if the weather looks chilly. We will have a campfire. Wear shoes you don't mind getting a little dirty. We will be brewing smoky tea, such as Lapsang Souchong and Russian Caravan. Feel free to bring any other brewed tea that you want to share with others and/or any fall themed snacks, such as anything with pumpkin or apple etc. flavors. There will be lawn games set out. Some possibilities are bocce, croquet, badminton, corn toss, volleyball, ladder ball, etc. If it rains, we will move to a different date. This event will be at a private home in Hilliard. The address will be sent out a day or two beforehand.
