Evening Picnic - Sydney Park, St Peters - Sat 21 Feb, 4:00pm

Evening Picnic - Sydney Park, St Peters - Sat 21 Feb, 4:00pm

Sat, Feb 21, 5:00 AM
From Kitchen Catchup
4.9

Our picnic potlucks are always so much fun, that we just couldn't wait to have another one! And so bring something to help fill up our bellies for another regathering where we can share with each other our favourite dishes (or even try making something completely new!). To tackle the usual parking challenges, we're setting this session up as an early dinner evening picnic, so don't eat too much in the morning or for lunch as we always have heaps to enjoy. It will still be light out during the picnic... and there are plenty post picnic adventure options around in Enmore and Newtown. Transport Notes : * For those driving : Sydney Park is located at the intersection of three roads : King St (from Newtown), Princess Highway and Sydney Park Road. * If you're coming by Public Transport, the park is a short 5 min walk from St Peters station or \~15 mins from Newtown Station. Easy peasy. We will provide contact information, along with a more detailed map of where we will be sitting the morning of the event once we find a spot. Let us know in the comments section what dish you'd like to bring to help us avoid the risk of duplicates (ie. too much dessert... is there such a thing really though?!). Dishes Being Brought for the Potluck : * Hummus & baba ganoush dips with chips (Amit) * Greek Salad (Chloe) * Garden Salad (Madeleine) * Miso & Peanut Butter Chickpea Salad (Fran) * Tofu Skin Salad & Veggie Rice Spring Rolls (Rika) * Chicken avocado salad (Helen) * Hearty Salad (Sebastian D) * Buckwheat & Gravy (Sebastian D) * French Onion Soup Focaccia (Stephanie) * Cheese & Spinach Spanakopita (Natasha) * Beef flat noodles (Joanna) * Chicken, Tomato & Bean Pasta (Pratik) * Lamb Koftas w Tahini dip or Mini Quiches (Susan) * Vegemite & cheese scrolls (Linda) * BBQ (Simon) * Vegetarian : Indian Pav Bhaji (Minakshi) * Vegetarian Frittata (Monica) * Dessert : Lemon Cake (Mithun) * Dessert : Brownies (Gladys) * Dessert : Cream Cake (J) * Dessert : Cranberry Oatmeal Bars (Natia) * Dessert : TBC (Paulina) * (We'll update this list as we hear from people what they are bringing.) We will have tables we can place many of our goodies on and we'll also have a couple of large picnic blankets. I'll have disposable cups, plates and cutlery available as well. There are toilets and parking on site while there is light & within just a few minutes walks in a nearby Newtown pub also. Looking forward to hearing (and tasting) what everyone is bringing ! Cheers, Natia \-\-\- --- Kitchen Catchup Code of Conduct The Kitchen Catchup community is a space for all members, of all skill levels to, both in person and online, \>\> safely discuss\, cook and eat all types of foods from around the world\, \>\> be treated fairly\, equally and with respect by all members\, and \>\> socialise & learn in an environment free from all forms of harassment and discrimination\. If you do not care for a certain ingredient, dish, cuisine or cooking technique (we all have these!), there is no issue with mentioning that you don't like it; however, please avoid negative reactions (verbal or otherwise) that could make other members in the group feel uncomfortable. If any further questions or to raise any concerns from any of our events, please feel free to get in touch with the event and/or meetup organisers. Thanks for helping to keep our community amazing!
