The Great Outdoors! We hope you have enjoyed getting out in the warm weather. For this month's hack theme we are going to explore getting outside and tools you would have found useful this Summer. Whether this is a tool to help plan your holiday or outdoor activity, warn you about nearby traffic jams or bush fires, or even a tool to remind you to go out and touch grass once in a while, now is the time to think up a few ideas! We will have a planning session to talk through these ideas and see what people want to work on for the hacking portion of the MeetUp. If you want to start early please do! We would love to see your project working, and if you would like to give a brief talk about how it works, even better. If you need help getting something working or taking it to the next level we will definitely have people willing to help you out. Even if you have a project unrelated to this theme, we would still love to hear about it. We can either talk about it at the next session or build a future session around it. We would also love your input on themes for the rest of the year. The broader the better as this will give the widest room to ideate over. Code for Sydney is now running meetups every month. Code for Sydney is a volunteer civic innovation organization created by Sydney-area developers, designers, and activists with an interest in solving civic and social problems through the use of technology. During our monthly hack day, we'll learn about civic challenges, brainstorm ideas about solutions, and sit down to code together. Together, we can make an impact on civic challenges and build a better city. Networking with fellow software engineers, designers and student/s welcome! If anyone would like to present a quick talk or propose a project idea, do talk to us! Also please do join the discussion on Discord https://discord.gg/wPmp25Xnm5

Are you afraid of public speaking? 🗣️ Do you want to be a better communicator? Or maybe you just want to be confident enough to deliver the toast at your friend's wedding. 🤵👰 You have been delaying this for years and it's never too late to start. We are part of a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. At each meeting, you will get the opportunity to develop your speaking, communication & leadership skills. You are welcome to attend the first few meetings as a visitor to ensure the club is a good fit for you. Meetings have an agenda that has been published on our interactive website and members are encouraged to nominate themselves for meeting roles in advance. Undertaking roles is part of developing leadership skills 🥇. You will find that our meetings are friendly and fun, welcoming and warm, nurturing and encouraging attendees to achieve their goals. Laughter is guaranteed; you will be amazed that learning can be so much fun! 😃 Join us as a guest every 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of the month at 7:00 am at the new St Leonards Library in Mall 88.
