From Halloween trick-or-treating to Mexico’s Día de los Muertos, from medieval death rituals to modern horror films, cultures across the world transform fear of mortality into ritual, art, and even festivity. **In this discussion we’ll explore:** * The history & symbolic meanings of Halloween and All Hallows’ Eve. * How resurrection rituals and afterlife beliefs shape cultural identity. * How macabre festivals help societies confront fear, grief, and the unknown. Social Beach Volleyball, then Dinner at the Restaurant or Takeaways. **🏐Who is it for?** All Level Players - Beginners, Intermediates to Advanced. For all ages - most of the people that came to our events are in their 20s & 30s. If you are beginner, please don't hesitate to ask our organisers for quick run down of passing and serving. If you are not a beginner, help or encourage beginners how to play better. Have fun and enjoy the game. 📍**Where** **Coogee Beach** North Side of the Beach, near the small boats, near Coogee Pavillion Look for Blue Copaya Net or yellow net, Boombox speaker or blue IKEA bag. Coogee Club volleyball sometimes also there, that is not us. 🎫**Event Ticket** Event Ticket at the event is $3 from each attendees to help pay meetup cost, buy new nets, balls & other equipment for the events. *Available tap to pay using card or phone at the event or cash or payid.* **🏐Volleyball Game Time** **2:00pm - 2:30pm** Practice Session (Passing, Serving, Spiking, Teamwork) **2:30pm until 6:00pm** Games (Non Daylight Savings Time) **3:00pm until 8:00pm** Games (Daylight Savings Time) ***Maintain respect to each other's space. WE HIKE... to the YACHT PARTY 2026! REGISTER INTEREST!

**Howdy hikers. A few ladies gave me a nudge last weekend. At last nite’s drinks event? A few more. So? It’s time to Hike… to the Yacht Party 2026. Please note - this event is not next Friday - just giving you all a week to register your interest to attend so I can yacht shop! We Hike to the Yacht Party 2026 will be on 17th October 2026!!!** Click "Attend" if you’re keen - not "Hmmm maybe" but rather "Fahk yes. I'm in there!" I’ll need to start hunting for the right yacht size. Last year we did 46 hikers, and the day went really well like this: a) We hiked. Optional. b) We had an hour to change clothes. Grab some BYO. And lube up at bar in the CBD. c) Yacht departure by Sydney Opera House. 3hrs. d) Yacht drop off at King St Wharf. e) Finished with our own private section at MJ’s local bar (we’d switch it up this year - we had drinks at Helm Bar last nite, and their private area was really nice, and they do duelling pianos on Saturday nites - fun, fun, fun). October is a great time, as we change the clocks then, and the prices are still lower season before they go way up in November. Who’s keen?
