Unstuck Women

Unstuck Women

Tue, May 19, 1:30 AM
From The Unstuck Group for Women

This is a 90-minute, facilitated open circle for women. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided. The group is located in West Hollywood, and the location address will be shared with RSVPs the day before the session to protect the anonymity of the attendees. Each session opens with a brief Reiki transmission and guided breathing to settle the room, followed by introductions and the heart of our work together. Women are invited to share where they feel stuck. Manta guides each conversation toward the crux of the issue, offering reflective feedback, practical exercises, and a clear next step. This is not therapy and it is not storytelling. It is solution-focused work in a supportive circle. Format: ∙ Reiki opening and breathwork (5 mins) ∙ Introductions (5 mins) ∙ Open circle with guided facilitation ∙ Closing reflections and takeaways Please arrive capable of being fully present. If you arrive intoxicated, you will be gently asked to return next time. A $10 donation is appreciated, but not at all necessary. Your presence alone is a gift. **About Your Facilitator** Manta spent a decade in corporate America as a management consultant, working with clients including Disney, Amgen, and The Carlyle Group. She is also a channel, Reiki master, and healer who studied under Tibetan monks. She has a rare gift for distilling the essence of what is blocking someone, helping them see it clearly and take practical action forward. In Manta’s hands, the analytical and the spiritual are not opposites. They are the same tool. This group is limited to 8 women to preserve the intimacy of the circle. If you have questions or want to know if this group is a good fit for you, please message Manta directly.

Let's go square dancing Downtown near USC! ($20) The 16th ever Los Angeles Old Time Social is happening on May 16th. There are beginner-friendly workshops throughout the day and musicians and folk enthusiasts from up and down the west coast come into town that weekend. Some of them will be putting on a square dance from 7:30-10pm, which is what we'll be attending. Different musicians and callers will be rotating in throughout the night, and we'll keep dancing. Never square danced? Don't worry... all dances are taught. Fun guaranteed! No partner necessary, this is social dancing :) Everyone willing to participate is welcome! Bring your friends -- the more the square-ier! Straight and LGBTQIA+ friendly. We'll meet up there at 7:30pm to watch (and eat) musical cakes before the dancing gets underway. SCHEDULE: 6-7ish - doors 7:00pm - flatfooting workshop (included with evening program admission, if you're interested) 7:30pm - musical cakes + group meet + socializing + beginner-friendly dancing out back (outside) DIRECTIONS: Punch "Velaslavasay Panorama" into maps and it should get there easy. 1122 W 24th St, Los Angeles, CA 90007 PARKING: Street parking. Double-check posted signs. MEETING UP: We'll meet up by the cakes around 7:30pm. (Once you go in, just keep heading back, go out into the back garden, back through the ornate gate, into the courtyard+kitchen. If you get lost, just ask anyone to point you toward the cakes.) If you're late and miss the group meet, once you get to the cakes area, ask anyone to point you to Lindsay, and we'll introduce you to the rest of the group. DRINKS/FOOD INFO: You may bring your own food and water bottle. In years past, they have had donation-based canned/bottled drinks on site. I'm unsure what they will have this year. COST: $20 for the evening program (see ticket link in comments). There is also a limited number of discounted all-day passes still available for $45 (at the time of posting this) if you plan to attend more than the evening program. WHAT TO BRING: • Comfortable shoes for pavement • Layers (the dance will be outside) • Water bottle • Pre-purchased ticket receipt on your phone • Cash for drink donations Tips for the LADIES: * Dresses are fun for twirling, but pants are cool too :) * It's best to wear shoes that won't easily slip off * It's ok (even encouraged) to ask guys to dance :) * Ladies are always right, so ladies are always on the right when dancing (though you are no way limited to dancing the "lady" role--anyone can dance any role) Hope you'll join us!

Frequently asked questions

Meetup is a platform that connects people based on shared interests for group events. You can find local events and join groups to meet new people and engage in activities you enjoy.

Meetup allows you to search for costume-themed events happening in Los Angeles. You can join groups focused on social events and see upcoming costume parties in your area.

Joining a costume group is simple. Search for groups centered around parties and costumes, then click to join. From there, you can RSVP for events and connect with other members.

Some events are free, while others may require a small fee. Fees depend on the host, and details are provided in each event's description on Meetup.

Yes, attending in costume is often encouraged but not mandatory. Make sure to check event details, as some may have specific dress codes or themes.

Yes, you can organize your own event on Meetup. Create a group or join one, propose an event, and invite others to participate in your costume-themed gathering.

You can RSVP as soon as an event is listed. Early RSVP don't just secure your spot, it also helps organizers plan better and informs you of any updates or changes.

Most events are open to guests, but it’s best to check specific event policies. You can usually bring a friend by indicating the number of attendees when you RSVP.

Yes, many costume parties are family-friendly. Filter these events by each group’s description or the event summary to ensure the environment suits your needs.

Age requirements depend on the event or group. Certain events may be 18+ or 21+. Details are typically included in the event description.

Yes, some groups may host virtual costume events. Check event descriptions to see if the gathering is online or in-person.

Many groups and events do have specific themes, like 80s, Disney, or movie characters. This can make parties more fun and help attendees find themes that interest them.

Meetup is designed for group events rather than 1:1 interactions, offering a social atmosphere to meet multiple people with similar interests.

The frequency of new costume parties can vary. The availability depends on group activity levels and member interests in the Los Angeles area.

Meetup connects people for events, not for providing attire. Members share tips, but you’d need to acquire your own costume elsewhere.
