Every Thursday evening, at Gospel Oak Methodist Church, Agincourt Road, London NW3 2NT our choir tries out new material and practises songs in 4 - 8 part harmony under the direction of our superb Musical Director Ben Cox, and accompanist, Jonathan Taylor. We meet from 7.30pm - 9.30pm. So come along and sing with us, as a taster. Have fun singing essential, but often neglected elements of the arrangements. Vocal backgrounds play an important role in Soul - using call-and-response; creating variety of texture; defining sections of the song; differentiating repeats of the same section; building excitement. The workshop will be led by Andy Dummett. After the Covid pandemic Ben was joined by Ashley John Long on bass and Jon Bradford Jones on drums, whilst Matt remains with the group as a producer and engineer. Cameron Saint (RWCMD and RAM) regularly takes on bass duties when Ashley is unavailable.** **Chube has performed at a number of festivals including the Brecon Jazz Festival, In It Together Festival, Harp on Wight, Aberjazz, Croftfest. and Wall2Wall Jazz Festivals - giving a unique recital with special guest Dennis Rollins MBE on trombone at the latter. In 2025 they gave their European debut at the Stellae Matutinae European Harp Symposium in Feldkirch, Austria.
