Friday Emotional Health Uplift & Accountability Group
Dear friends,
This one hour session is functioning as an online support group and is offered to you for sharing and connecting with a few individuals who might need a little bit of a kick to keep themselves on track with their mental health work and wellbeing during the week.
Through the first part of the year I invite anyone of you who is grieving, be it a loss of a loved one, a separation, job, relocation, etc... to join in and let us hear you.
We are not about moving forward with our business projects, but rather moving forward our plans to feel better, to connect with meaningful activities and people in order to live a healthier and more fulfilled life.
If you are currently unable to find a local support group nearby where you live, join us without thinking twice.
No pressure will be put on you to talk, but everyone will have an equal chance to share their own story and how they are dealing with their everyday challenges. We shall let the session evolve naturally.
This session is limited to maximum 5 participants. Please be respectful, nonjudgemental, willing to share, willing to listen, and simply be present with us.
We will explore moments of mindfulness, and learn/practice useful life skills that might support you on your way to better awareness of self and your impact on the world around you.
\*Everyone who joins respects confidentiality. What is said in the group is not shared outside the group.
The session will be concluded with a very short mindfulness meditation exercise- if you are not used to meditate, don't get intimidated - you will be guided into it. And if not interested, you will be able to disconnect from the session without any further questions.
I look forward to seeing you there.
I am a Mental Health Counselor MA. My reasons for organizing this session are to provide one way of support to anyone who needs to step out of isolation, connect with others who struggle with their own life situation at the moment, and who cannot afford a price/commute for the local individual or group counseling sessions at this moment in time. There is still space you.
Heartfelt voluntary contributions will be accepted with great appreciation, and can be processed via Twint (at 078 8062540) or PayPal. Thank you.
Gentle end of the week – half hour only - Online exercise class and chat after
This exercise session is aimed at people over 50. Our exercises are gentle but effective. There will be no floor exercises in this session, but you can expect to work hard!
Not exercised for a while? Painful knees or hips? Or just like to end your week with some gentle movement? This class will be a great place to start. No fast, jerky movements, but this will still be a good workout for all levels. Beginners and experienced participants are equally welcome.
We will combine chair exercises with standing exercises, designed to strengthen your muscles to help support your joints and improve your balance and flexibility.
We will end this session with a chat, just making time to check in with each other and discuss the week and the weekend ahead.
• ca 1.5x1.5 meter space to move around.
• tablet, laptop or computer screen with internet connection
• two water bottles, cans, or small hand weights
• a straight kitchen or dining room chair without armrests.
My rates
10 session card: My normal rate is £89 for 10 sessions. (different rates apply for my Parkinson’s classes)
Pay monthly: Sign up for unlimited sessions per week, for a flat rate of £70 per month if paid monthly in advance.
Pay What Works:
The price shown above is the “true” value of the session that best reflects the work I put into preparing and leading your session. However, I understand that not everyone can afford to pay full price, and I don’t want that to stop you from joining us.
In an effort to find a balance between more financial accessibility and sustainable pricing, I now offer a “Pay What Works” model. This allows for financial flexibility while still valuing and respecting the work and energy I provide in creating and delivering these classes.
You tell me what you would like to pay:
For your new payment, please let me know if you are happy to pay full price, or if you would like a reduction
Please send an email to ailien@fitandhappyoutdoors.com with the heading “INVOICE please”-
followed by “FAHO 1” to pay full price as quoted below, “FAHO 2”, for 20% off, or “FAHO 3” for 50% off.
And please tell me if you want to pay for 10 sessions, or if you’d like to pay monthly.
I prefer payment by bank transfer. At the moment I do not accept cheques. The queues by the banks are just too long.
When you sign up, I will send you the link and the password you will need to join this session!
Like many others my work has been severely affected by the Corona quarantine, when it stopped my normal work from one day to the next. As I am self employed, I have no other means of income. By joining this class you help me pay my bills, and I appreciate that enormously!

COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process.
Fast track
• Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell).
• Show up and try it out.
• Complete application, etc. later.
Normal process
• Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/).
• Attend orientation in advance.
• At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility.
• Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM.
• Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895).
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
COUNT monthly event: Kitchen service at Van Buren Center's shelter
Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above.
There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change.
The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/).
Volunteers must be 14 or older. Since we will be working around families, the YMCA does not permit volunteering by individuals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. The YMCA reserves the right to run background checks on volunteers.
For questions, comment on this page or contact: Andrew, awhit12@yahoo.com, (614)937-5802 (cell). Please let Andrew know if you volunteer anytime other than our COUNT events so that he can count your hours toward our service record.
