Please take a good lunch or bring along some snacks if you feel hungry along the way. Our walks are usually between 8 - 12 km long. Just so you know, the weather may be hot but as the sun sets, the weather should be cooler. Please be punctual. You are encouraged to be slightly early to avoid disappointments. There will be 5 minutes grace for attendance taking. Please remember that we cannot wait because this would be unfair to those already present. Upper Seletar Reservoir was formerly known as the *Seletar Reservoir*, before the completion of the [Lower Seletar Reservoir](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lower_Seletar_Reservoir) near [Nee Soon](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yishun), formed by the [damming](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dam) up of the [mouth](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River_mouth) of Seletar River, in 1986. The Seletar Reservoir was built to meet the surge in water demand after [World War I](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_I). Built while [D. J. **TRAIL RUN GROUP** ***WHO SHOULD ATTEND ?*** This group is a LEISURE run group. So whether you are a beginner or have years of experience, this group will suit you. Please note that if you intend to walk /hike, this group is not for you. However if you can run (70%) & walk (30%) , then you can give this group a try. ***WHAT TO EXPECT ?*** Our pace is leisure. We have participants of different ages, ranging from 25 to 70 years. Each one of us set our own pace; we do NOT pace one another & we do not run as a group. We do have regular member who is tasked to pace the slowest member so that no one get lost. The run usually last about 30 to 45 minutes. We currently have an average of 9 - 12 regular runners. We usually have a short dinner/drink after the run ***DISTANCE COVERED :*** About 5 km ***VENUE:*** We usually run in a nature park or on trails at the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. ***TIMING:*** We meet every other Sunday ( bi-monthly) & start our runs PUNCTUALLY at 5pm. Once the allocated time (around 15 to 20 min) is up which you will know when the organiser rings a bell across every table, it will mean that it is time for rotation. How you will be rotated will be mentioned on the piece of paper which you will receive on the actual day. For each round of rotation, usually 1 lady and 1 gentleman in the table will remain in their seats while the rest in the same table will move to another table based on what is mentioned on the piece of paper which they receive. Forest and water meet here, creating the perfect setting to slow down and listen. ✨ We’ll begin with a **gentle, guided forest therapy walk** through the trees, pausing along the way to notice the stillness of the reservoir and the subtle signs of early spring. After enjoying a snack & sipping foraged tisane/tea while sitting near the water, we’ll settle in for an **immersive outdoor sound bath**. 🎶 Singing bowls and resonant instruments will blend with the soft lapping of water, breeze through branches, and birdsong overhead. The lake amplifies and carries sound in a uniquely soothing way — supporting nervous system reset, emotional clarity, and deep restoration.
