Pub Grub @ The Green Dragon Pub
The Green Dragon is a lively pub in the centre of Croydon with a good mix of traditional British food and modern dishes. It is well loved by a wide demographic in Croydon and it serves a wide choice of food to cater for them all, without having a list of dishes as long as your arm. Its wide selection of ales and craft beers attract the more selective drinkers and it has won awards for the best pub in Croydon and the title is rightly given! For more information please see The Green Dragon's website: https://www.craft-pubs.co.uk/thegreendragoncroydon/ Travel: If you are arriving by public transport, please use the TFL journey planner (http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/) to review your travel time and plan your journey to the restaurant.

Wet January - The Annual CBGB Bermondsey Beer Mile crawl returns for 2026
Wet January - The Annual CBGB Bermondsey Beer Mile crawl returns for 2026
January is shit, isn't it? Everyone is mentally, emotionally and financially exhausted after Christmas. The weather is just grey and drizzly. Everyone is on a diet. Most of your friends are doing Dry January. The gym will be heaving for the next six weeks. If you happen to have a birthday in January then nobody wants to go out and do anything because they’re broke, sober or trying Veganuary (or perhaps even all three, for the true trifecta of misery). On top of all of this, we are mere weeks away from the shiny promise of the new year dissolving into familiar, crushing disappointment. Because of all of this, your favourite small craft breweries, bars and pubs have a tough time this month. The good news is that we can all collectively do something to help them out, and all we have to do is drink beer! The CBGB Annual Dry January Bermondsey Beer Mile MeetUp is back for 2026. Welcome to Wet January. When: Saturday 17th January 2026 Kick-off time: 2pm Proposed route: **· Southwark Brewing Company (46 Druid Street) – 2pm-3pm** **· Anspach & Hobday (The Arch House) (118 Druid Street) – 3:10pm – 4:10pm** **· Cloudwater (73 Enid Street) – 4:20pm – 5:30pm** **· The Kernel Brewery (132 Spa Road) – 5:40 – 7:00pm** Afterwards, should anyone still wish to, then suggest we head to **Craft Beer Junction (86 Enid Street).** The whole route is roughly a mile to walk and there will be around a 5 minute walk in between venues. Anspach & Hobday are happy for you to bring food in from the market on nearby Maltby Street and the Kernel have a proper kitchen serving food with a rotating residency – I believe it is a Japanese-inspired menu currently. There is also usually a food truck outside one of the other taprooms on Enid Street that sells pizza.
Hatton Garden Beers
Hatton Garden Beers
Please join us for a New Year's drink at 'Ye Olde Mitre' off Hatton Garden. This is a Fullers pub, but it also does a good range of guest ales as well - https://www.yeoldemitreholborn.co.uk/drink This can be a tricky pub to find as it is tucked away down an alleyway (Ely Court) off the eastern side of Hatton Garden. The alleyway is between two shops called 'Smith and Green' and 'Solitaire' and there is a Fullers sign above the entrance to the alleyway. Hope to see you there!
Euston Pub Crawl - Music Later

Craving Connection: Addiction and the Search for the Authentic Self
Craving Connection: Addiction and the Search for the Authentic Self
Addiction isn’t limited to substances. It can show up in the everyday things we crave: technology, exercise, social media, work, and even the constant pursuit of achievement. This session explores the roots of addiction and why quick hits from doom scrolling, overworking, technology, or seeking attention never truly satisfy. Together, we’ll discuss what it means to live as our authentic selves in a culture wired for dopamine hits, instant gratification, and the fear of missing out – and how spiritual practices and community can help us reclaim balance and wholeness.

Profs & Pints Northern Virginia: Satanic Panics
Profs & Pints Northern Virginia: Satanic Panics
[Profs and Pints Northern Virginia](https://www.profsandpints.com/washingtondc) presents: **“Satanic Panics,”** a look at waves of fear of demonic activity as an American tradition, with Luxx Mishou, cultural historian and former instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy and area community colleges. [Advance tickets: $13.50 plus sales tax and processing fees. Available at [https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/profsandpints/nv-satanic-panics](https://www.ticketleap.events/tickets/profsandpints/nv-satanic-panics) .] The 1980s found the United States gripped by fear of Satanic cults targeting children. They were believed to be corrupting young ones in daycare centers and tempting teens through subliminal messages on heavy metal albums or through the quiet inclusion of demonic rituals in role-playing games. Satanic serial killers supposedly stalked the suburbs. Doctors helped patients uncover what were claimed to be repressed memories of ritualistic satanic abuse. Parents, police, and politicians were urged to protect impressionable youths from both moral and physical danger. With Satanic cults deemed to be a real and material threat, it was a frightening time for everyone, including those who suddenly came under suspicion for doing evil deeds. Then, suddenly, it all faded from public consciousness, just as surely as did eighties fads such mullet haircuts, leg warmers, and Cabbage Patch Kids. Why did it all start? Why did it stop? And has this happened before or since? Hear such questions tackled by Luxx Mishou, a cultural historian and media specialist who has long researched the devious and villainous in cultural artifacts. She’ll discuss moral panics as a longstanding cultural tradition, with each new one stemming from fear of cultural shifts and shaped by the time and place where it occurred. Among the panics we’ll look into are the Red Scare of the 1950s and the public response to the gruesome 1969 murders committed by the Manson Family. Delving into the 1980s panic, Mishou will describe how it began with the 1980 publication of psychiatrist Lawrence Pazder’s memoir *Michelle Remembers*, detailing the suppressed memories of ritualistic abuse reportedly suffered by a patient. As that book quickly became a best seller, its ideas saturated American culture. A California daycare center became the focus of a three-year investigation, followed by three years of trials, based on allegations that its owner had engaged in secret ritualistic abuse of the children in its care. Mishou will lead you through the media that convinced the public that devil worshipers were among them, and she’ll talk about how reactions to imagined threats can have very real social costs.
