Thursday 5km run followed by pub drinks
Please join us for our weekly run and social - a great (free!) way to meet new people!
We meet at 7pm outside The Horatia ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/p1QnyurFQh3gywov6) and head for the run together from there. You can leave a small bag or extra layer at the pub at your own risk.
The winter route is around Highbury Fields and in the summer we do a loop to Clissold Park, both ending at the starting point- the Horatia pub.
We run 5km at an easy pace (about 6-7 mins per km), with some people going faster and some slower.
After the run, we will head to the Horatia pub for some drinks (alcoholic and soft are fine- no judgment!).

Ladies Sword Fitness
Taisoken Sword Fitness classes are formulated to sculpt your whole body, build lean muscle and focus the mind. Based on traditional Japanese sword movements (βTaisokenβ literally means βexercise swordβ in Japanese) the class blends cardio and light weight resistance training to burn fat and build long lean muscles.
We make use of traditional Japanese training swords (called βBokkenβ) to tone our arms and strengthen our cores. No prior training or martial arts experience is required, the class is completely non-contact and suited to all levels of fitness. Come and join us every second Sunday for a strong work out - most weeks be pop to the local pub/cafΓ© for a quick coffee or cake (and letβs be honest, sometimes both!) Meetup Cost: Β£10 Please bring the payment with you on the day and pay directly to Taisoken or you can make a bank transfer on the day.
Classes are for ladies only.
Back ground Info: Taisoken Sword Fitness has been developed and is led by Jeff Humm, who has been studying studying the use of the Japanese sword for over 45 years together with other traditional martial arts. He holds a Masters degree in Traditional Japanese Martial Arts and a 7th Dan in Japanese fencing (Kendo). The movements are authentic cutting actions, some dating back more than 3 hundred years when your life depend on how well you wield the Sword. By taking authentic Japanese sword movements of attack and defence, these actions have been formulated into practice routines which work and sculpt the full range of the bodyβs muscles.
Additionally the routines require participates to focus and visualise their actions leading them to seeking perfection in application which in turn empowers the mind and develops greater body and mind equilibrium. The Japanese sword is sharp and slender, renowned and admired across the world for its beauty and image; those that can weld it effectively are held in great esteem and revered. They are resilient and tranquil, with poise and grace they move without effort, mind, body and sword as one.
Please bring the payment with you on the day and pay directly to Taisoken.

Please do tell me if you want to pay for 10 sessions, or if youβd like to pay monthly.
I prefer payment by bank transfer, but if that is not possible you could pay in cash. No cheques please, the queues by the banks are just too long.
We walk in all safe weather conditions β if a walk is cancelled, we will contact you to let you know. Please check for text messages or Meetup messages before leaving home!

* Live DJ bringing Afrobeats, Amapiano, Dancehall and Hip Hop
* Stadium setting & outdoors
* Community vibes & unforgettable moments
* Content opportunities/photo moments
* Feel-good energy from start to finish
* Powered by Red Bull, with exciting activations on the day
This One Is Extra Specialβ¦ π
Our first-ever stadium takeover PLUS it's also Just Geen's birthday on the day, so we'll be celebrating in style.
Whether you come solo or with friends, you will leave feeling empowered, with new friends and proud you showed up.

Join the weight loss in Columbus group at the Scioto Audubon Park for an in person meeting. We'll meet to chat casually, talk about goals and enjoy one of Columbus's wonderful parks.
We'll meet at one of the outdoor shelters, which is covered in case of rain, is close to some walking trails, and there's also a climbing gym that people can try out (my favorite past time) if people are interested.
Let's meet and see where we can take things!
