Hello lovely people! 👋 Join us for a relaxed weekend walk through one of London's most loved green spaces 🌿 🧺 **Meet point – 12:00 PM** We'll start the day at [Parliament Hill Farmers' Market](https://maps.app.goo.gl/hDKHRE37A6SUk6eN7), where you'll have a chance to browse local produce, artisan foods, baked goods, coffee, and independent stalls before we begin our walk. 🍓We'll most likely spend around an hour there (or less, depending on how the group's feeling). 🌿 From there, we'll make our way through [Hampstead Heath](https://maps.app.goo.gl/PKxNAobtPSgrr3gG6), exploring woodland paths, open meadows, ponds, and some of London's best viewpoints. We'll take things at an easy pace, with plenty of opportunities to chat, enjoy the scenery, and discover a different side of London. 🌳 **Optional extended walk or drinks** For those who feel like continuing, we may explore a little more of the Heath afterwards and finish at a local pub. 👣 **Route:** Parliament Hill Farmers' Market → Hampstead Heath Please dress comfortably for walking and check the weather forecast beforehand. We will be walking section 14 out of 15 of the Capital Ring walk. Starting from Hackney Wick station, we will walk along the Greenway, past Abbey Mills pumping station and Greenway Community orchard and finish in Beckton District Park. We will be walking for approximately two hours with a break in between. The pathways are mainly on level tarmac paths with a few moderate slopes but it is mainly flat, and there shouldn't be any issues with mud even if it has been raining. I'll keep a watch on the forecast and will cancel the event a day or two before if the weather is looking bad. Keep an eye on the event chat which I'll update a day or two before to confirm we are going ahead. We will meet just outside Hackney Wick overground station at 10:45 at the White Post Lane exit (North side). Unless there is a transport issue affecting everyone, we will aim to start off on the walk at 11am. I will add my location tracking on Glympse so if you are late, we will not wait but you will be able to catch us up. After the walk at Beckton I am planning on heading to a local pub for a drink and a bite to eat. If you are up for coming along please indicate in the comments. I'm estimating we would reach the end of the walk at Beckton for around 13:00. The nearest station to the endpoint is Royal Albert, however I understand this station is closed on the Sunday of the walk and the nearest next open DLR station is Prince Regent, around 15 minutes walk.

This is "***New Members Night***." If you are one of the many folks on the fence about coming to your first wine tasting with the *Hilliard Wine Club*, this is the night to come. There will be many other new people, so you won't be alone. And the regulars will be there to help make you feel welcome. We're a relaxed and warm group. We hope to see you. **New Venue:** After more than a year on Norwich Street in Old Hilliard we have found a new home at The District's Club House. It's about 3 miles from the former location but is brighter and more spacious. See photos and map. **SIDE NOTE:** New members are welcome to ALL our Friday night wine tastings, but this night is a special overture to those who don't want to feel that they are the only new person in the room. Uh, they are made of glass! **Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing. **Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, it’s still worth mentioning. We don’t have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion.
