9th Anniversary Foundation Drinks & Dinner (06.03.26)
As required by M&P the venue, so that we can give them final numbers, this meetup is now 'closed.' But we look forward to seeing folks next month for drinks at Comptons Thurs 4th Apr (full details: [https://www.meetup.com/london-gay-dads-meetup/events/312391447/](https://www.meetup.com/london-gay-dads-meetup/events/312391447/)) *** **Join for the 9th Annual Dinner!** M&P serve sensibly-priced delicious authentic Italian meals. Usually nice service too. The group’s size means as usual it’ll be their Large Group Seasonal Set Menu; while that’s pretty comprehensive, obviously it won’t include everything a la carte at [https://www.meleepere.co.uk/menus](https://www.meleepere.co.uk/menus), but if interested you get the idea there. As always, LGDM meets are 'fam-friendly' and +1s are very welcome. This year instead of a deposit, we're asking that in addition to RSPV-ing here on Meetup, you make a note to 'consciously' reconfirm a week beforehand (or otherwise go back into Meetup and decline!) your RSVP, that'd be on Sat 28th Feb, IF YOU RSVP 'Yes' and then NO SHOW even after this 28th Feb 'reconfirm', WE WILL BE CHARGED for you & you will be found to be in the Bad Boy Books! (We will of course send a reminder by email and WA in good time.) This is how Mere e Pele describe themselves: *"We are three brothers ... on a journey to create a genuine neighbourhood Trattoria reminiscent of the fabulous family-run places of northern Italy where we all grew up... We cook our seasonal menu with British produce and exceptional Italian ingredients. All of our pasta, pizza, desserts and ice-creams are made in our kitchen fresh every day and we prove our pizza dough for over 48 hours. Gluten free pasta is also available and we have plenty of vegan options too."*

🌿 Women’s Day Walk: A Cozy East London Gathering (Women Only)
🌿 Women’s Day Walk: A Cozy East London Gathering (Women Only)
This Women’s Day, we’re gathering for something simple and meaningful - a relaxed, walk-focused afternoon dedicated to celebrating small wins, good conversation, and the kind of growth that often goes unnoticed. This event is for women only. 📍 **Plan** We’ll meet at **Hermanos Colombian Coffee (Blackhorse Road area)** at **12:00pm**, settle in briefly, and then head towards **Walthamstow Wetlands (Forest Road entrance).** Walthamstow Wetlands is Europe’s largest urban wetland nature reserve and home to herons, cormorants, great crested grebes, and if we’re lucky… maybe even a kingfisher sighting. No promises, but eyes up 😉 The afternoon will be mostly walk-focused, with a gentle stroll through nature and a short reflective pause along the way - nothing intense, just a small intentional moment to mark the occasion. Depending on the weather and group energy, we may stop at the café inside the Wetlands for a short break. On our way back towards **Walthamstow Central**, we’ll make a light bakery stop before wrapping up around **3:00pm**. ⛅️ If London weather decides to be London weather, we’ll adapt the route and spend more time indoors while keeping the spirit of the gathering intact. Please Bring your ID as some Venues in London might request it at the entrance. Please Mind your social behaviour and personal belongings, the organiser accepts no liability. Thank you :)

Women's Circle: Self Love & Inner Safety
Women's Circle: Self Love & Inner Safety
Ticket is needed in order to attend this event: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1982978717725?aff=oddtdtcreator ## Overview Are you longing for deeper connections with other women who are on a path of self-discovery and growth? Join us for a women's circle! Join us for a gentle and nurturing **Women’s Circle:** a sacred, heart-led space for women who want to go deeper. Every month, we gather to explore themes around **spirituality, feminine embodiment, self-discovery and personal growth**. Each circle centers around a unique topic: from **feminine energy, intuition, boundaries**, and **embodiment** to **self-worth, healing** or **emotional expression** but the intention remains the same: 💗 To create a space for authentic connection, inner reflection, and collective wisdom 💗 To be seen, heard and held without judgment or pressure to be anything but yourself 🌙 **This Month’s Theme: Self-love and Inner Safety** On Women’s Day, we gather not just to celebrate being women — but to deepen the relationship we have with ourselves. Self-love is often spoken about as confidence, affirmations or self-care rituals. But beneath all of that lies something more essential: inner safety. When we don’t feel safe within ourselves, we look for security in other people’s reassurance, approval or presence. We may overgive, overthink, or abandon our needs in order to feel connected. In this circle, we’ll gently explore what it means to become your own secure base — to create stability, reassurance and emotional grounding from within. We’ll reflect on: * Where we still seek safety externally * How self-abandonment shows up in subtle ways * What inner security feels like in the body * How to strengthen self-trust and emotional steadiness Through meditation, journaling and conscious sharing, we’ll begin practicing a different way of relating to ourselves — one rooted in compassion rather than criticism, and steadiness rather than fear. ### ✨ What to Expect: * A grounding **meditation & breathwork** to help you arrive in the moment * A short **introduction to the theme** of the circle * **Mindful exercises** to reflect, feel and reconnect * A **safe, supportive sharing circle** * A closing **visualisation, affirmation & oracle cards** * Warm, soul-led connection with other women walking the path of self-discovery * Optional social afterwards where you can continue connection with others ### 🌀 Why this Circle was Born: “I created this circle because I craved **soulful, nourishing connection** with other women: spaces where we could go deeper than small talk and share from the heart. If you feel that same longing: for truth, presence, sisterhood, then this circle is for you.” ### 🌸 Why Women’s Circles Matter: Female connection is not just emotionally enriching—it’s also *biologically essential*. Research shows that when women gather in safe, supportive spaces, they release **oxytocin**—the bonding hormone—which helps lower stress, build trust, and boost emotional resilience. Strong female friendships and emotional expression are linked to: * Reduced anxiety and depression * Better heart and immune health * A longer, more joyful life In times of stress, women are wired for a “**tend-and-befriend**” response, **we heal in connection**. 📍 **WHERE:** Blackwell House, King's Square Community Centre ### 💫 What to Bring: * An open heart * A journal & pen Let’s sit together, soften, and reconnect with our inner power—**not through doing, but through being.** 🔗 Stay Connected: Join my WhatsApp community to stay in the loop about future circles & classes: 👉 [Click to join](https://chat.whatsapp.com/JSwy4GT3zeM8ywHHR931A1 "https://chat.whatsapp.com/JSwy4GT3zeM8ywHHR931A1") 📸 **Click to follow me on Instagram for more:** [aga.tokarskaa](https://www.instagram.com/aga.tokarskaa?igsh=MTUzOGtkdjhoOHkweA%3D%3D&utm_source=qr "https://www.instagram.com/aga.tokarskaa?igsh=MTUzOGtkdjhoOHkweA%3D%3D&utm_source=qr") **About me:** Aga is a **yoga teacher and transformational life coach** devoted to guiding others on the journey from overwhelm to inner peace. Her work supports those with busy, overthinking minds in **creating calm, clarity and confidence:** one breath, one choice, one breakthrough at a time. With her North Node in Scorpio, Aga's soul mission is **all about transformation: letting go of control, trusting the unknown and living from deep inner truth rather than external expectations.** After leaving behind a structured corporate path, she committed to creating a life led by intuition, embodiment and spiritual growth. Her journey has taught her to embrace change, follow the soul’s whispers and live from a place of empowered surrender. Through her women’s circles, Aroma Yoga sessions and coaching, Aga now holds space for others to do the same: to remember who they truly are, reconnect with their inner power, and create lives rooted in **freedom, authenticity and feminine wisdom.**
Bewl Water & the Titans of Saturn (16 miles)
Bewl Water & the Titans of Saturn (16 miles)
It's Herschel's birthday (1792). Not William, who discovered Uranus & various moons around it and Saturn, or Caroline who found a few comets. John, continuing the family work completed mapping of the Southern Hemisphere sky, and named the discovered moons - in Saturn's case, after Titans in Greek mythology. First stop along this Wealden walk will be his home at The Moor, a quintessential English village complete with green where cricket was played in Herschel's day, church, and the Eight Bells. The church houses a very unusual relic, delivered in 1944. Next in our orbit is Bewl Water, the largest stretch of water in SE England, described as unlike anywhere else. [Bewl Water - The Ultimate Destination for a Family Day Out](https://www.bewlwater.co.uk/) Final stop is Ticehurst, with chocolate box cottages. Further details: [Best places to live: Ticehurst, Sussex | Muddy Stilettos | Muddy Stilettos](https://sussex.muddystilettos.co.uk/best-places-to-live/sussex/best-places-to-live-ticehurst/) And when taking photographs along the walk - who coined the word 'photography' which he helped develop? Yep, John Herschel. Outward Travel: Take the train departing 9.24 AM from London Bridge to ETCHINGHAM. The return train fare with a Network Card or GroupSave is £17.00. Gather outside the ticket office at London Bridge to arrange group tickets. Walk start: 10.31 AM from Etchingham rail station. Bring a packed lunch. Village / pub stops. Orbital walk. *How to join?* * The walk is entirely free of charge; * You only arrange for your own travel and pub expenses; * Understand our terms and conditions below (the "IMPORTANT" part); * Understand how to stay safe outdoors, as you will be responsible for yourself. See our quick safety tips: http://www.meetup.com/Free-Outdoor-Trips-From-London/about/ *What to bring* * Plenty of water, 1-2 litres recommended * Enough snacks and packed lunch to keep you energized along the walk * Extra snacks and an extra packed lunch just in case * Rainproof (ideally waterproof) clothing, sturdy shoes/boots you don't mind getting muddy * Spare socks * Walking poles and/or an umbrella :-) * Yourself... * ...and your camera! * Cash for train ticket * Cash for pub at the end of the walk? Feel free to ask any questions in the comments section! IMPORTANT Please bear in mind this is a free of charge, self-guided trip with a hobby group. It is not organized by a business nor any entity with commercial purposes. Any trip details, travel advice, route planning, instructions and other content in our group merely represent our shared personal knowledge, research and suggestions as outdoor enthusiasts. As this is no business, there is no "product", "service" or "package" and also no "tour guide", "operator" or "walk leader". Each participant is responsible for their own safety. Even if some of us are very experienced walking outdoors, nobody assumes responsibility for any kind of injury, damage or loss that may happen. Despite this, we take extreme precautions and all trips we plan are very safe, fun, highly educational and popular. Our experienced members volunteer their time and effort to shape a pleasant and quality adventure for everyone :-) By participating you acknowledge and agree with this disclaimer. Here are our tips on staying safe during outdoor trips: http://www.meetup.com/Free-Outdoor-Trips-From-London/about/ TRAVEL, ACCOMMODATION, INSURANCE Although we provide detailed suggestions, each participant is expected to arrange their own travel - this gives everyone the freedom and choice. Anyone interested in travel or outdoor insurance should also arrange this on their own. As mentioned above we always take extreme precautions, but some people may still feel safer if covered. As most of our trips are confirmed or postponed very close to the event date - heavily depending on the weather forecasts - we advise not to buy this until the last minute. People getting tickets from the same station are encouraged to meet early on the day to benefit from discounts such as GroupSave.
