Every member of the Alexandria Euchre Club must know how to play the game of Euchre to attend a meetup. If you know the game, but it has been years since you've played, that is fine as we've all been there and will be patient while it all comes back to you. 2. We have a number of casual games going on all night. We also play stick the dealer (ask if you don't know this variation). 3. Euchre is a 4 person game. What this means is that if you sign-up, we are counting on you to be there. Please be considerate and make your final decision as soon as possible. The deadline for RSVP is 2 days prior to the meet-up. Please update by that time, especially if you are going to cancel your RSVP. This allows some time to try and fill out the tables. Of course, we understand that you may get sick on the day. We are happy to have you stay home if you get sick. 4. There are some costs associated with meetup--I have to pay Meetup every 6 months for listing on their website. They don't work off of advertising fees. We pass the bowl around and ask people to throw a $1 in each time they come.

The city of Laurel has reopened the community centers! GCOM Laurel will be happening again Thursday night! We’ll be gaming from 6-9pm. Masks are still required and if you’re not feeling well, get better and join us next week. We’re at the Robert J DiPietro center!

All perfect choices for this Meetup! Both primary COVID-19 vaccinations are REQUIRED to enter. No vax, no entry. No exceptions. In terms of setup, I have a TV for videos and general gaming, a monitor in a different room for smaller games, let's plays, and streaming, and a projector in the loft for movies and larger games requiring more space like Dance Dance Revolution, Just Dance, and Guitar Hero/Rock Band. For consoles I have PlayStations 2 through 4 plus a PS TV, Wii/Wii U, Switch, and PC. I often move my consoles around (either for let's play or streaming purposes or to bring them other places), so if you can't find what you're looking for just ask. I don't own any XBox consoles but you're welcome to bring yours if you'd like! Try and keep a positive atmosphere. A lot of people attend the group to escape from their daily lives. Don't feel like you need to leave your problems at the door, everyone needs to vent once in a while, but please attempt to not do so the whole meetup. We're here to have fun after all, so try and keep it that way! <3

Free to play board gaming all day until we close

Join local video game developers, artists, musicians and writers to talk about the art and science of game development. Bring a device and demo your game, talk shop, find like minded folks to join forces with, have a snack or a beverage among new friends. We are an informal meetup where we share what we've been working on and socialize. Come for all or just a bit of the time!

Everyone is encouraged to get vaccinated, but not required. I just got mine. I don't want to get any of my friends sick! I will, however, be screening for a standard set of COVID symptoms. If you are showing any symptoms that could make people nervous, please postpone coming to the meetup till you're over it. While sneezing is not a COVID symptom, I think folks would rather not risk getting even a cold right now, so again please don't show up if this is the case, even if you're sure it is just an allergy. On the other hand, no masks are required, although feel free if it'd make you more comfortable. General day of games! Whatever folks feel like playing. Bring your own or learn a new one! If you want to play a longer game, you might want to propose it on the meetup discussion to judge interest. I'll have snacks and soda on hand. Additional snacks or soda welcome. We usually order out for dinner and then continue on till 10pm. The games we usually play tend towards those requiring more thinking than typical family or party games and they are usually in the 2-4 hour range. Photos from past meet ups can give you a sense of them. We do sometimes play lighter games though.

We play a variety of high interaction games with a focus on Euros. Events will start with quick games while people arrive and eat lunch. We will start longer games around 2pm. While the official end time is 5pm, people are welcome to continue playing games afterwards. Western Market closes at 7pm on Sundays. For January's game of the month we are playing the platformer "Return of the Obra Dinn." From the devs: *In 1802, the merchant ship Obra Dinn set out from London for the Orient with over 200 tons of trade goods. Six months later it hadn't met its rendezvous point at the Cape of Good Hope and was declared lost at sea.* *Early this morning of October 14th, 1807, the Obra Dinn drifted into port at Falmouth with damaged sails and no visible crew. As insurance investigator for the East India Company's London Office, dispatch immediately to Falmouth, find means to board the ship, and prepare an assessment of damages.* It is available for PC, Mac, Switch, PS4, and Xbox. Join us at Easton Town Center for a casual evening of board gaming. Play from our library or bring one of your favorites to share. We usually bring along Catan, Ticket to Ride, Cascadia, etc... We'll be set up at the Donatos Pizza Party Room. It was free for us to reserve, but you may want to buy a drink or go in on a pizza. Why Easton? Although there aren't any board game stores / cafes here, it's a nice area. More importantly, this event coincides with LifeTime Fitness Parent's Night Out, so our kid will get babysat. If you happen to be a member of Lifetime you too can get free babysitting and play some games.

######## NEW LOCATION ####### We are going to be at The Forge on Bethel Rd this week and until further notice! The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~$20 per person. Soft drink refills are $1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind.
