**Sahaja Yoga Meditation** offers free, guided collective meditation sessions for everyone. Each class includes a simple introduction to meditation, basic techniques for inner balance, and a short talk or discussion on a topic of the day.
These meditation classes are suitable for **complete beginners** and **regular meditators**. No prior knowledge or experience is required.
**Chairs are provided**, and there are **no physical exercises, postures, or special clothing** needed.
Classes usually run for **60 to 90 minutes**, and **no booking is required**.
Every session is free and led by volunteers who share Sahaja Yoga to help others experience peace, balance, and self-realisation.

We are going to bring together a number of expert facilitators and quality hosted content to explore tools and techniques for supporting us as men, to be the best versions of ourselves, as we choose to define it.
**About The Event**
IOM is a unique experience that provides something different for each individual.
For some men, it is a welcome reprieve from the pressures of life, a lifting of the weight of expectation that has been placed on them by work, family and society.
For others, it is a place to realise and release limiting stories, unhealthy relationships & behaviours that no longer serve.
And for the majority of the IOM attendees, it is just a place to feel at home with other blokes who want to learn, grow and be happy.
IoM is open to all men of cultural and ethical backgrounds. It is open to anyone who identifies as a man, of all sexual orientations. IoM is focused on community and growth and is not associated with any religious group.
**Sunday - Community Gathering**
We would like to celebrate the intention and work that men do when coming to Island of Men. We gather with the intention to be better versions of ourselves, for the benefit of our lives, our families and our communities. We want to celebrate this, while gathering with family and friends, over lunch.
So the invitation is for men to stay overnight and be joined by family and friends on Sunday (family / friends are asked to arrive at 10:30am). We will also be running a workshop to welcome family to the Island of Men space. This is going to be very special!!
**Agreements**
Island of Men events are based on agreements. It is a day of connection and growth, agreements provide a safe foundation to support this intention.

This is a day built on radical self reliance, a commitment to owning our own stuff and taking steps to create positive changes where necessary. It's also a day of complete community, a knowing that life can be so much better when we are there for one another.
IOM will be host to an array of talented facilitators running workshops throughout the day, focussed on mission, communication, movement, fatherhood, purpose, expression, appreciation, self-love, inner child work... and more.
The workshops will be delivered by talented facilitators.
The IOM experience can be a somewhat difficult to describe, so rather than trying to hammer a point home, have a read of what past attendees have said about their Island experience.

Monk led a meditation session for local residents at the Dhammakaya Multicultural Meditation Centre of Melbourne, Camberwell. The session focused on the theme “Stillness of the Mind”, offering participants practical tools to cultivate inner calm and clarity.
The 50-minute guided sitting meditation began with gentle body-scanning relaxation, helping everyone release physical tension and settle comfortably. Participants were then guided to watch the natural rhythm of the breath, allowing the mind to gradually become centred and composed.
Many techniques supported participants in experiencing a greater sense of peace and steadiness.
