A fun, flavour-filled evening for wine lovers, cheese enthusiasts, and anyone keen to meet someone who shares their great taste. Have a Mer’lot of fun meeting fellow wine enthusiasts during this full-bodied evening of Old World wines and newfound single friends. Add a cheese and charcuterie board into the mix, and you’ve got yourself some truly perfect pairings! You’ll be welcomed at 19:15 by your It’s a Date host, who will show you where to leave your jacket and introduce you to the rest of the group. From there, you’ll enjoy three 125ml servings of hand-selected wines — typically a red, a white, and either a rosé or sparkling option. Pairing notes will be provided to give insight into each wine’s origins, add context to the flavours, and offer easy conversational cues as we explore the wines (and each other) throughout the evening. Mid-way through, we’ll share a selection of cheeses and charcuterie — the ideal accompaniment to a relaxed, organic, and sociable night out. Throughout the event, your host will make introductions and ensure everyone has plenty of opportunities to mingle and connect. We’ll wrap up around 21:00, after which the bar will remain open for a glass from your favourite bottle and the chance to continue socialising more widely. Once home, you can access a list of attendees on your It’s a Date dashboard to send match feedback and organise those second dates. A match is struck when two guests reciprocate identical feedback, indicating mutual intent to reconnect and enabling messaging via our online platform. **What this is** A relaxed, social pool night for lesbian and bisexual women. You don’t need to be good at pool and it’s not competitive. Some women play properly, some mostly chat, some do a bit of both. Most women come on their own. That’s normal here, and it doesn’t feel awkward or cliquey once you’re there. The games run for around an hour and a half, and most people stay on afterwards for drinks. Women usually range from their 20s through to their 60s. Most weeks it’s a genuine mix of new faces and returning women. If you’re feeling nervous, you won’t be the only one. All the ingredients for an energising Friday night speed dating event are in place—a top venue, a first-class host, and 36 outgoing single guests. Are you in? Nestled in the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral and just a 2-minute walk from St Paul’s tube station, The Happenstance is a stunning bar and lounge that sets the scene for your fun, fast-paced Friday night of meeting new faces. Our popular event takes place in a private area of the venue, creating a relaxed, comfortable, and civilised atmosphere—perfect for an evening filled with great company and a host of interesting introductions. Our host will be at the venue ready to welcome you at 19:30. Please arrive on time for registration, to grab any drinks from the bar, and receive a summary of how things will work. You will be given an optional name sticker, a pen, and note card to keep track of everyone you’ve met. Ladies will be seated on tables adequately spaced, discreetly numbered, and arranged in a comfortable area of the venue. When speed dating commences, gents will join ladies for 5-minute dates to get to know one another. Your host will notify all guests at the end of each date, signalling for gents to move to the next table in ascending numerical order. During table rotations you will have a moment to record on note cards your feelings towards the previous date and intention to reconnect, for your reference only. Mid-way through the evening, your host will indicate a 15-minute comfort break to use the rest room, head to the bar, or socialise with new connections. Dating will then resume for the second half of the evening. At the end of the speed dating the bar will remain open for more socialising. Set in a post-apocalyptic landscape, Coriolanus, a fierce and proud Roman general, earns fame after defeating Rome’s enemies, especially at Corioli. Despite his military success, he despises the common people and refuses to flatter them for political gain. Urged to seek public office, his arrogance alienates citizens, leading to his banishment. In anger, he allies with his former enemy Aufidius and marches against Rome. As destruction looms, his mother, Volumnia, pleads with him to spare the city. Moved by her words, he relents, choosing honor over revenge. His decision saves Rome but seals his fate, as he is killed for betraying his allies in return.
