If you would like to play a part in making knowledge accessible and to get together as a community, this meetup is for you. We are friendly and inclusive group of Wikipedia enthusiasts who gather every month to discuss and work together on various projects. This will be the sixteenth monthly meetup at Brixton Library open to all editors established, slightly confident and the very new. This month we will focus on copy-editing and maintenance in the aim of improving article quality on the world’s largest online encyclopaedia. Our main group activity of this session will be some sort of editing blitz - our challenge is to clean up as many pages as possible and potentially clear out an entire maintenance category! Alternatively, you can choose articles to improve by theme — we’ll guide you through how to do this. Complete newcomers are very welcome to join! We can help you get you started in no time and guide you through your first edits on Wikipedia. For more experienced editors, we will discuss and tackle more advanced copy-editing tasks. This is a full day free training on data modelling in Power BI. Data Modelling is the core skill needed to build good, correct Power BI reports. We will firstly build a basic semantic model (fact, dimension, and dates tables, based on the star schema pattern). We will then use AI agents via the Power BI Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to directly improve and document our model. The box measures 330mm x 304mm x 180mm and can be used to store lots of special things and perhaps become an heirloom! The beautiful hardwood and veneers used for this project has been sourced and prepared from a sustainable woodyard. The course begins by explaining how to stay safe while using our professional and powerful woodworking machines. Marcin will talk you through the materials and tools you will be using and let you practice before beginning the project. We have created a cutting list so that each person can learn how to process the wood and begin making very quickly. If you hanker to use some big machines and learn how to use jigs and to work accurately from plans, this is a great course for you. **Steps to making your own Treasure Box:** 1. Student introductions, inspirations and knowledge. 2. Introduction to the project. 3. Health and Safety. 4. Understanding the materials and tools we will be using in this course (wood technology, proper usage of the tools, jigs). 5. Practice on how to use the tools and jigs in the workshop. 6. Cutting list. 7. Making. Marcin says: ‘I will approach the sessions with a solid introduction not only to Health and Safety but to give an understanding of materials and tools. I believe it’s important to understand the nature of different types of wood and how it reacts (i.e. depending on variety, cut or thickness) when handling it, glueing or using different tools. There will be a great focus on how to use tools and machinery in the correct way for best results. We will be starting from technical drawing explanation and introduction to the material and the design itself. I will love to know people’s backgrounds before we start the session so everyone will feel more comfortable and confident to work as a team. I will have prepared a cutting list to make things easier and so we can start making (and having fun) as soon as possible. I would like to make the sessions inclusive and provide a safe space for everyone. I always take people’s abilities into account and endeavour to be there for students that want to share their struggles in order to make the making experience something they can enjoy.’

In this talk James will discuss why all the world's encryption will break, why a lot of your data is leaking right now, what you need to do now and what you will need to do in the near future. **About James Birnie** James Birnie has worked in software delivery since the 1990s, when TDD was something you studied but never did, "agile" and "lean" were words used to describe athletes, and Pipelines were for carrying oil. James worked in a successful startup for 10 years before he became a consultant (and an ex software engineer) at, first, Thoughtworks and then Codurance. After time as Head of Platform at Currencycloud and VP of Engineering at IMMO Capital, James returned to consultancy and is currently Director of Strategic Consultancy at Forrow. The documentary explores the events and investigation into an unknown person [cyberbully](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberbullying "Cyberbullying") and [harassing](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harassment "Harassment") teenagers in [Beal City, Michigan](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beal_City,_Michigan "Beal City, Michigan") using an unknown number via insults and sexual claims. It also explores the increasingly great impact of the harassment on the community, the eventual reveal of the culprit, and the trial that followed. IMPORTANT INFO: I strongly suggest not reading anything about it online before seeing it. It's best viewed with no previous knowledge. We’re bringing back Adult Field Day. Last year was a good mix of competition and just hanging out, so we’re doing it again with some new games mixed in. Think team-based challenges, simple races, and a few things inspired by game shows. You don’t need to be athletic. Most of the fun is just being part of a team and getting to know people you wouldn’t normally talk to. The goal isn’t really winning. It’s meeting people, laughing a bit, and leaving knowing a few more names than when you showed up. If you stick around after, we’ll have a potluck, a bonfire, and a couple comedians in the evening.
