[Hiking Series] M'sia - Ophir via Sagil (1,276m): Step-up for a full-day hike!
**\*If interested, please whatsapp** [wa.me/+6588842635](wa.me/+6588842635) **or +65 8884 2635! We have limited permits and must be applied in advance. Sign-ups *are only confirmed after contacting us and joining the WA group! \**** Gunung Ledang, or commonly known as Mount Ophir (1,276m) is the highest mountain in Johor and almost the most climbed mountain there. This is a good step-up hike for those who are looking to progress to tougher hikes after Gunung Datuk or are training or preparing for Kinabalu/Nepal etc. **Who is this for?** It serves as a good training or progressive hike for those who wish to do more hiking. Most do it as training for other treks, like Kinabalu, or Nepal. **How tough is it/How fit do I have to be?** It is twice as long as Gunung Datuk. The trek is around 4-5h up and 3-4h down, making it a total of 9h. The total elevation is around 1,000m up and down. It can be quite tiring on your legs. It is generally tropical forest trail, with some rope portions, ladders and rock faces. It can be quite fun to go through the different terrain with the need to use your hands at some points. However, if you have done Gunung Datuk before, the terrain is not that much of a surprise. The tough part is only the duration. This is good for people who have some level of fitness, if not it will be fun for those who are first time in Malaysia! **What happens if I am slow?** There is a 1 guide to 7 hikers ratio. There is also a cut-off timing to the summit, if you fail to make it you will have to turn back! So far everyone I've brought made it =). Do note if you descent past a certain time, there is a penalty. How many pax for the trip to happen? Minimum **12 pax** to start the trip! Once confirmed, a Whatsapp group will be set up. **Estimated Itinerary:** (Saturday) \~12.30 am : Meet @ Marsiling MRT 1.30 – 4am : Transport to Gunung Ledang via Tangkak 5.00 am : Breakfast at Tangkak 6.30am : Tangkak – Gunung Ledang National Park 7.00 am : Arrival @ National Park counter – Registration & Tagging items (checking in) 8.00 am : Start climbing to the top 12.00 pm : Arrive at the peak (safety time at the peak until 2.00 pm) 1.00 pm : Descend back to the base 4.30 pm : Arrive at the park, clear the items and wash up. 5.00 pm : Leave. 5.00 pm – 8.30pm : Dinner at Tangkak and head to Singapore/Dinner (own expense) at JB ***Itinerary is subject to changes based on conditions and group speed and trek leader's discretion*** Price: $165 per pax for all other nationalities Malaysian: $150 Price includes: 2-ways Transport Mountain Guide by the National Park All associated Park Permits/ Fees Mountain Insurance by the Park LMT Trek Leader LMT Info-Kit Price excludes: All Personal expenses/Meals Visa Application (if any) Personal Travel Insurance Other personal expenses/Late Fee for Descent This event is organized by LITTLE MONSTERS TRAVEL PTE LTD Travel Agent Licence No: 03117 Contact : +65 88842635 Email: info@littlemonsterstravel.net Some additional questions: 1. How long is the ride to Mount Ophir A: It takes only around 3-4h from Singapore 2. The journey to Ophir only takes 3 hours, why do we set off so early? A: This is so that we can save money on accommodation/driver cost/taxi to MRT station. This also means there is a lack of sleep, so try to sleep in the vehicle! Bring a travel pillow! 3. Are there shower or toilet facilities at the park? A: Yes there are but basic. Expect using a hose/bucket. Please bring a change of clothes and shower when you are down from Ophir. No smelly people in the vehicle! 4. What do I have to look out for? A: There are mosquitoes and leeches sometimes, depends on the weather. 5. Where is dinner? We would have dinner in Tangkak at a cheap and nice chinese restaurant, if there are dietary concerns there are other options around the area also.

Saturday Morning Road Run: Full Rail Corridor (22km)
Saturday Morning Road Run: Full Rail Corridor (22km)
Wake up early for a run through a section of Singapore's urban landscape. This event is posted on multiple platforms. Our road runs are typically attended by 8-12 runners. Please be aware that road running carries certain inherent risks. You are responsible for your own safety. THE BASICS ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ ROUTE: Rail Corridor (full) MEETING POINT: Kranji MRT END: Ace Eating House DISTANCE: 22 km SCHEDULE (Saturday AM) ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ 0730: Meet 0735: Stretch/ Warm-up 0745: Briefing + Start run LATER: Breakfast If you are running late, please contact us before 0730. Your host will share the route with you. You can open this map in your phone's web browser and try to catch up with us. We hope for your understanding that we may not be able to answer messages received after 0730. FAQs ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ Q: What is the expected pace? A: The group naturally tends to split into a front group and a rear group. The front group runs at approximately 5:30 min/km, while the slower group is more flexible at around 6:30 min/km. The rear group will always accommodate and wait for other runners, as long as they are running. Q: Is this run suitable for beginners? A: Yes, as long as you are confident you can run the full advertised distance for the week's run without needing to stop to walk. Q: Are there designated pacers? A: We sometimes have official pacers. Pacers (if any) will be announced during the briefing. Q: Is there a bag drop? A: No, there is no bag drop service. Our road runs are point-to-point (we run from A to B and do not return to the start), so please only bring what you are comfortable running with. Q: How do we get back from the end point? A: We always plan our routes to end near an MRT station or a major bus interchange, ensuring you have a convenient way to get home. Q: Are there water points along the route? A: Availability of public water coolers varies with each route. We recommend bringing your own water. There are usually convenience stores along the way where you can purchase a drink if needed. Q: What happens if it rains? A: This is a rain-or-shine event. In the case of heavy rain, we may delay the start by up to 10 minutes to see if the weather improves, but the run will not be cancelled. Q: What should I bring with me? A: Please wear comfortable running attire suitable for Singapore's humid climate. We also recommend bringing a payment method (for our optional group breakfast), and your phone. Q: Is breakfast a group activity? A: Yes, all runners are welcome to join for breakfast at a nearby eatery after the run. It's a great way to refuel and socialise, but it's completely optional.

Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Join our weekly walking meetup to have fun, maintain a healthy lifestyle, meet new people, and enjoy the weather! We meet Saturdays at 10am, halfway between the Reston *Container Store* and *Not Your Average Joes* (by the metal benches), leaving no later than 10:05. Every week, rain or shine, we start by walking along the Green Trail to reach Lake Anne Community Center. Once there, we pause for water/bio (often staying a few minutes extra from April-November, due to the local Farmer's Market), and then we circle Lake Anne and head back to our starting point. It's roughly 3-4 miles and takes about an hour and a half. Afterwards, some members will often head to *Not Your Average Joes* or another local restaurant for a quick drink/meal before tackling the day. This event is open to all ages and fitness levels. Dogs are welcome, and we recommend dressing for the weather (umbrella, water, snow shoes, hat, etc.) since we'll walk rain or shine. Also, feel free to bring a friend! By signing up, you accept and assume all risks and responsibilities with this activity, and nobody will be held liable.
