New Meetup: City Council Hearing on the .nyc TLD

Announcing a new Meetup for Imagining New York City's Internet Space - the .nyc TLD!

What: City Council Hearing on the .nyc TLD

When: October 17,[masked]:00 AM

Where: 250 Broadway, 14th Floor, (across from City Hall)

Description: This New York City Council's hearing on Resolution # 1495 calling for the acquisition of the .nyc TLD.

Here's the text for Reso. # 1495 from our blog post - http://www.openplans.org/projects/campaign-for.nyc/blog/2008/08/01/city-council-action-resolution-1495/.

I'm only starting on our presentation. But I think the emphasis will be on names for small businesses, civic set asides, and tourism enhancement. And why the structure we've created is most suitable for the city.

But if you have thoughts, let me know. There's no limit on our presentation so I might go on for weeks. But some indicate that 20-30 minutes is appropriate. I'm checking.

Anyone can comment on the resolution at the end of the "official" presentations. But there's a 3 minute limit. Bring 20 copies of your statement if possible.

So if you have ideas for names or concepts that I should include in Connecting.nyc Inc.'s presentation, pass them on, or stop by and present them yourself.

Hope to hear from you or see you Friday morning.
