2012 Overview Redux

Thanks to the many who joined us last night for a 2012 "walk" through. I do hope you gathered some notions, answers, and new questions about the year to come – and astrology in general.

I do recommend all levels of astrology folk mark or highlight the following in their 2012 calendars. Preferably this calendar has space to write notes on it beforehand and when the day arrives, so is more a datebook format or simply your e-calendar!

*New and Full Moons – and thus eclipses too. I notice this as a good way to become further attuned to astrological cycles. I uploaded the 2012 Moons sheet Athena read from.

*Ingresses – planets entering new signs as they travel the zodiac. Often, they're moving forward (and begin at 0º00' of a sign). Sometimes though, they're going backwards because they're retrograde or it's the Nodal Axis (and enter at 29º59' of a sign). The same handout above has the dates and times of 2012's Ingresses. If you joined last night, you heard all the planets and Sun's ingresses. This sheet has the first few asteroids including Chiron someone asked about, plus Ceres, Juno, Pallas Athena, and Vesta.

*Our session necessarily excluded the moon's ingresses for the year – that could've taken the whole two hours – or more! I very much encourage each of us to note, ahead of time, when the Moon travels through your Sun's sign AND its opposite sign. See what you notice about yourself every few weeks.

When the Moon is in our Sun sign, that's called a Personal New Moon. When the Moon is our Sun's opposing sign, that's called a Personal Full Moon.

*Please find the Retrogrades handout Lori used here. Nudge you to pay attention to what houses Mercury, Venus and Mars retrograde in your chart - and when. For the other planets, I would focus your attention more to the week before AND after they change direction. Please note: Mars exits its shadow on 6/19 (not 9/19), seven months after it entered a shadow period.

Please grab Tony's Astro Glossary one-sheet if you are moving into reading charts, etc.

For those so inclined and familiar with reading charts, please find PDFs for:

2012's Big Three Ingresses: Neptune in Pisces (3rd pass), Saturn entering Scorpio and North Node backing into Scorpio. I do believe Neptune in Pisces is THE astro event to observe of 2012. We didn't chew much on it aloud that this is a sizable shift into an element. The latter two happen at the last third and then quarter of 2012. Consider this something to look at and discuss. Particularly as the latter two will influence Pluto in Capricorn and eventually trine it (in[masked]).

Let's also notice 2012's Major Aspects Trio: Uranus square Pluto (1st pass of five over the next 3 years), another Cardinal Cross mid-year, and winter's beautiful Grand Trine in Earth. We noted the first certainly being connected to the Occupy movement. The second was noted as being Occupy, and/or a possible rise of women in the Middle East. The third was noted as being a key point in lengthy Mars in Virgo retrograde timing.

Here's the US Sibley and NYC charts together. I noted NYC's Sun is at 10º52' Capricorn. This means Pluto is coming to its Sun rather soon - actually February 2013 is the first time. Meanwhile, the USA's Sun is at 13º19' Cancer, so Pluto will oppose that Sun so many months later. I'm continuing to look at these charts more and more for my own studies + observations.

And finally, here's charts for Pluto in Capricorn (1st pass) (plus Pluto in Aquarius (1st pass) and Neptune in Aries).

I encourage everyone - whether you joined last night or not - to continue the conversations here on our mailing list so we can all continue our learning and embracing of the future, and really NOW.

Very best for the rest of your 2011.
