Art Nest is a midweek creative reset for anyone who wants to spend a couple of hours creating, meeting like-minded people and unwinding. We get together at The Angry Dog, just a short walk from Southern Cross Station, for an evening of art, chats, snacks and good vibes. There’s a different theme each week to spark some ideas, but there’s no pressure to follow it. Bring your own ideas, experiment with the materials or see where the evening takes you. What's Included? 🎨 All art materials Everything you need to get creative, including paints, pastels, pencils, pens and more. 🥨 Snacks & treats A few snacks to keep you going while you create. 🖼️ A different creative theme every week A little inspiration to get you started, with plenty of room to make it your own. 🫶 A relaxed, social space Come with friends or come solo. Chat, create and meet new people in a laid-back setting. ✏️ Guided art support We’ll be around throughout the evening if you want a little help, inspiration or a second opinion. 💭 No artistic experience needed Art Nest is about enjoying the process, not creating a masterpiece. Artsy Afternoon @ O3Space ✨

Join us for a chill artsy afternoon, bring any art supplies you like 👩‍🎨🎨📝✨ Access to O3Space requires you to have the minimum ( FREE! ) membership that you sign up for when you download their app. Simply download the O3Space app, create a profile and use the QR code at the gate to enter/exit the building. The gate is located inside the tram on the right side of the cafe ☕️🚊 The free membership allows you in the building for up to 3 hours per week, if you go over they might charge you so make sure to use the QR code on your way out!! There is a timer countdown in the app so you know how long you have been there ⏰

HumanArt latex & Fine-Art Nude Photography Lighting Workshop

This is not another portfolio build. The aim is to teach you actual lighting techniques to elevate your photography to award winning levels over an intense 3 hours of creative lighting techniques. • Half hour group chat about finding your own creative style. Grief becomes problematic when the conditions needed to help us work with grief are absent.” - Francis Weller Our primary association with grief is the loss of a loved one but there are so many kinds of losses that don't have formal ceremonies that are important to honour. Unprocessed grief can accumulate in weight, dulling our senses and capacity for aliveness. This is a safe, supportive space for all shapes, sizes and textures of grief- for the loss of our loved ones, for the childhood we did not get to have, for the parts of ourselves that have been rejected and exiled, for friendships and relationships with ambiguous endings, for homes and communities we are distanced from and miss, for the suffering of the world and our fellow beings. This inclusive grief circle is also an advocacy for compassionate and attentive grief work, for reshaping our understanding of and relationship with grief. It is a holding space, a container, a time and a deep permission to acknowledge our emotions, our connections, the ways we have been touched and transformed, and our humanity. We will make art in response to the Grief Deck, share and witness each other’s stories and journeys, and co-create a group nature mandala together. **Please bring a jar and 8-10 similar natural objects (8 flowers or 8 sticks or 8 stones).** If you are facing financial hardship, please key in CONCESSION as a promo code for a discounted price of $25. Mandala Symbolism: Personal Mandala Drawing Sessions

‘*Mandalas have been used as an aid to contemplation and meditation by various cultures all over the world for over five thousand years. The word ‘mandala’ comes from the Sanskrit word for ‘sacred or magic circle’ and represents symbolic drawing inside a circle.’* Georgina Fode Join Art Therapist and Theosophist Nina Mazurek on the first Thursday of each month for an hour of hands-on mandala work - a Melbourne Theosophical tradition first established by Georgina Fode. Within a safely held and respectful space, each attendee will be guided to create an oil crayon mandala at their own pace, in response to a chosen topic and preceded by a ‘remember who you are’ meditation. Each class will be a nurturing opportunity to explore our inner yearnings for wholeness and containment, that may help to propel self-healing and enable further understanding of the self. Drawing ability is not necessary. People with all levels of drawing skills, including those who think they can not draw at all, will benefit and progress through this work, producing mandalas with deep personal meaning; reflections of their inner journeys’ progress. **Welcome to 'GENESIS' - The Generative AI Filmmaking Networking Event!** ***THIS MAY BE A LIMITED EVENT - PLEASE MAKE SURE TO RSVP.*** This group is for individuals interested in exploring the intersection of generative AI technology and movie making. Whether you're a filmmaker eager to discuss movie production, a technician looking to collaborate, or simply wishing to learn more and discuss AI in film, this group is for you! Join us at the Emporium food court (located behind Grill’d Burger Restaurant in the CBD, not near Melbourne Station) to discuss AI technologies, workflows, productions, AI ethics, government responsibility and more. After 7pm, we continue the evening with Happy Hour drinks at a nearby bar and a chance to grab dinner together. Feel free to bring friends interested in AI filmmaking; it’s a great way to introduce new faces to our expanding network. Sacred Geometry: The Creative Language of the Universe

Join us for an exploration into the fascinating world of sacred geometry and the patterns that emerge throughout our natural and creative worlds. Discover how art, science and spirituality intersect in our search to understand the creative language of the universe. From the intricate patterns of nature, geometry appears woven into the fabric of our world. This talk invites us to look more closely at these patterns and consider what they reveal about our perception, our creativity and our enduring search for meaning. A visual and thought-provoking journey into frequency, form, pattern and the creative impulse. This talk will be presented by Tara Baker, artist and theosophist, who graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, who has worked as Events’ Coordinator at the Melbourne Lodge, tended to the Mystic River Gallery and given workshops on sacred geometry and mandalas around Melbourne. Her own mandalas are drawn with an exquisite sensitivity to the power of conscious intention and hold the spirit of her own sacred explorations of creativity.
