NOTE EARLIER TIME! It's been 4 years since we've sketched in Prospect Park, and fall is the perfect time. Let's explore the forests and sketch the beautiful fall colors. We'll also get to draw the majestic boathouse. **We'll meet at the entrance to the park at Lincoln Rd & Ocean Ave, right near the B/Q/S stop.** Any problems on the day of the event, I can be reached at 646-831-9816. Looking forward to sketching with you! *** IMPORTANT: In case of rain, I will let people know early in the morning if it is canceled, and then reschedule for another day. *** What makes our Meetups different from other art groups and classes? There's no instruction, but we like to share our work, and chat and be inspired. Share tips and learn from people in a casual environment where all levels of artists are welcome! Don't be shy to ask anyone anything! • We sketch for a bit, usually 45 minutes or so, and then get back together and share our drawings, and then sketch again, etc. There's usually time for 3 sketches. • Please bring your own supplies - anything you like to work with - pens, pencil, watercolor, pastel, small sketchbook or large paper, iPad, whatever suits you. • We hand out nametags so everyone can meet one another! • We take photos to share on the site later. Radio City Music Hall lights up brilliantly at night and we're going to take advantage of that with a weekend nocturne. This is also a special event because this is my last event before I have a newborn in my life (surprise!). November's events will necessarily be, uh, probably non-existent. Don't write me off fully! But I will obviously need to take some time to create a routine with my new tiny roommate that can accommodate plein air painting sessions again. Our meeting point will be at 7pm across 50th st from Radio City Music Hall, against the Warby Parker. Check in with me on-site so I know who's attending, and then we'll disperse to our individual painting spots. At 10pm, we'll meet back up to show off our art and discuss the day. Gather your materials (watercolor, oils, gouache, acrylics, marker: all are welcome) and join with other artists for the joys and challenges of painting outside!
