Ring Mountain Habitat Restoration Work Days

Ring Mountain Habitat Restoration Work Days

Fri, May 8, 4:30 PM
From California Native Plant Society -- Marin Chapter Meetup
4.8

**Ring Mountain Habitat Restoration Work Days** Fridays, April 10 and May 8, 2026, 9:30am-12pm Leader: Amanda Magallanes, Ring Mountain Stewardship Coordinator Marin CNPS Coordinator: Caroline Christman Location: Ring Mountain Preserve, Tiburon Ring Mountain is well-known for beautiful views and stunning wildflower displays. Its serpentine grasslands are home to several rare plants including the Oakland star tulip ( Calochortus umbellatus ) and the Tiburon mariposa lily ( Calochortus tiburonensis ), which is found nowhere else. CNPS has a long history of supporting Ring Mountain and is continuing that work with a stewardship focus. Join us for 2nd Friday work days for a morning of hands-on work to protect native habitat. We will focus on removing non-native invasive plants, such as tocalote (Centaurea melitensis), false brome ( Brachypodium distachyon ), and Italian thistle (Carduus pycnocephalus). Removing invasive plants frees space and resources for native grasses and wildflowers to thrive. After a morning of rewarding work, Amanda will lead a short plant walk to enjoy the abundant wildflowers including tidy tips, goldfields, and owl’s clover, and to see if the Tiburon mariposa lily is blooming. During the work day we will be using hand tools to remove invasive plants and will be kneeling and working in tall grass. This location is exposed and can be windy. Marin County staff will provide tools and gloves. Bring a reusable water bottle and a snack, sun and wind protection, long pants, and sturdy close-toed shoes. Limit: 15 attendees Heavy rain cancels; cancellations will be posted on Meetup. Directions: Meet at the gate at the end of Taylor Rd. in Tiburon (dead-end street). From there we will walk together to our weeding site, which is approximately 0.3 miles with 100 ft of elevation gain (about a 10-minute walk).

The space is gorgeous, we’ve been looking forward to this one all month. **We’ll be seated at tables of 4. To join a table, head to the WhatsApp group (intro required)** [Glow Girl WhatsApp](https://chat.whatsapp.com/LSf5cS9rAEdBXYj82s57VJ?mode=gi_t) **and add yourself to an OpenTable reservation. If you’re not on a table, assume you don’t have a spot.** **Afternoon tea service is $69, Gratuity is $13 for a total of $82. Please be prepared to Venmo or Zelle your table if needed.** Wear something that makes you feel beautiful. Come as you are. If you’ve been needing a moment like this, this is it. ✨ Spots are limited so we can keep it intimate. We won’t be opening up new tables once the current ones are full. Reminders Please let the organizers know if you have any concerns or feedback, we're always open to hearing how we can make things better. * Everyone is responsible for their own check (you may be paying as a table of 4, so please be ready to send your portion including tax + tip) * If there’s an issue with your order or service, please work directly with the restaurant so they can make it right * While we’re sipping, stay connected, keep it small-group friendly, and let the good energy flow

Just some convivial folks hanging out at a neighborhood pub with their skechbooks. You don't have to be an "artist," or whatever that means, to be here. Bringing art supplies is a great idea though! Hydration is encouraged! The Flying Pig sells soft drinks and other n/a options as well as beer and cider.
We come up with a theme or prompt for each week. You're free to use it or ignore it. It's about inspiring to stray from the norm. Speaking of which, this week's theme/prompt is [TBA]

Because of this, I don’t always know exactly who or what ages will be attending—this is also a big reason the event is free to attend. Based on my experience hosting 100+ events, the predominant age range tends to be 30–65, though each event is unique and attracts a diverse mix of people. ***Check-in information:*** Arrive whenever you'd like but wristband and icebreaker distribution is only from 7pm-10pm. Wristbands allow other members to identify you as a fellow party member. The event will be wrapping up around 10pm. **DISCLAIMER:** The host is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings. Additionally, the host is not responsible for the DJ, live band, or any music played at the venue. Food and drinks are available for purchase and are not provided by Singles Mingle. Only requirement to attend is that you're single! Your wing person does not have to be single, they just won't receive a wristband or an icebreaker game but they are welcome to attend with you. **RSVP:** This event is advertised on multiple social media platforms, so the RSVP count may not reflect the actual attendance. Please note that RSVPs are not required. Feel free to bring friends and simply show up – no tickets or RSVP needed. **Mission statement:** Singles Mingle is on a mission to get singles off of dating apps and out meeting one another in person. Our goal is to offer a refreshing alternative to dating apps by providing monthly events where singles can meet, make friends, and enjoy a lively social atmosphere. We believe in the power of face-to-face connections and aim to create a space where individuals can step out of their comfort zones, delete the dating apps, and experience the genuine joy of mingling. With free admission and special drink offers, our events promise a fun and relaxed environment, making it easier for you to connect with other like-minded singles. Join us at Singles Mingle and let's redefine the way you approach meeting new people. [www.singlesmingleca.com](http://www.singlesmingleca.com/) *** ###

Welcome back San Francisco Green Drinkers!!! San Francisco Green Drinks is pleased to announce we are hosting our monthly **In-person Happy Hour Networking Event** on the **Second Thursday** **of every month**, at **Southern Pacific Brewing** \- a venue that should be familiar to our friends from Climatebase\, Work on Climate\, and others in the San Francisco Bay Area Climate Solutions Community\! Southern Pacific Brewing is located in a spacious warehouse in the Mission's industrial heart, that has been renovated into a bright and expansive brewery and restaurant complete with outdoor seating. It's about 6 blocks, or a 15-minute walk (less by bike!) from 16th Street Mission BART, so please plan ahead! Look for us at a table inside or in the Courtyard, depending on weather and crowds. Remember to bring your business cards, your positive attitude and your interest in discussing sustainability and climate change. Nametags will be available, but reusable ones are encouraged. Also, bring your cash or credit cards to pay for drinks. And be sure to tip our servers! As always, we encourage Green Drinkers to use public transportation, walk, bike or use some other form of low-carbon transportation to get to our event. If you need an escort to BART or Muni at the end of the night, feel free to ask one of our event volunteers! Look forward to seeing you there!! John Tripp President, San Francisco Green Drinks *** If you are interested in volunteering to help run SF Green Drinks, please reach out. I love hosting the event, but I'm always looking for volunteers, and I'd love to rebuild the leadership team! If your organization or someone you know is interested in sponsoring a SF Green Drinks Event, or you have an event space and would like to talk to us about hosting our event at your location, please contact me at: JohnPenfieldTripp@gmail.com The invite will be updated to include the specific date when the event is announced, usually about 1-2 weeks in advance, but we are always on the **Second Thursday of the month**, unless announced otherwise.
