Bay Area recumbent cyclist monthly Ride. (Berkeley to Point Richmond) 2 distances: 25.5 miles or 18 miles. 25.5 Mile Ride: Arrive/Park by 10:45 AM, Meet at Brickyard Cove on the west side of highway 80 and University Ave. in Berkeley CA, WHEELS-ROLLING TIME IS 11:00 AM. There is ample parking available as well as pubic bathrooms. 18 Mile Ride: Arrive/Park by 11:25 AM, meet at South-West corner of Central Avenue and Rydin Rd. in Richmond, CA (right next to SF Bay Trail). WHEELS-ROLLING TIME IS BETWEEN 11:35 - 11:45 AM - Street parking available nearby. Safest parking may be at Costco (1/4 mile further down Central Ave.). Meeting spot location map: https://goo.gl/maps/ZAXw5asLtAD2 Pace: 10-12 mph when pedaling on flat ground Route Description: From Brickyard Cove parking lot in Berkley the route follows the San Francisco Bay Trail north to meet with the 18 mile riders in Rydin Rd. in Richmond. The route continues on the SF Bay Trail to Craneway Pavilion (the old Ford assembly plant), stopping once along the way at a convenient restroom. From Craneway, the SF Bay Trail uses roads to connect with Point Richmond and the turn-around point at Kaleidoscope Coffee. Generally spend about 20-30 minutes at Kaleidoscope Coffee before heading back via the Dornan Tunnel and the bike trails at Miller-Knox and Brickyard Cove. Route is known for its scenic views of bay, marinas, waterfronts and birdlife. Known as the “Crookedest Street in the World,” Lombard Street is one of San Francisco’s most popular landmarks. Every year, millions of visitors walk or drive down its eight hairpin turns. Surrounded by Russian Hill mansions and perfectly manicured landscaping and flowers, it is also one of the city’s most scenic streets. Meet at the bottom on Leavensworth & Lombard. Bring a chair, dress warm. Don't block private driveways. Be aware of your surroundings, this is a high tourist area. Gather at 1215/1230 to share

It's time again for a sunny Alameda beer crawl! That drops us off at the Main Street Alameda Ferry Terminal at 1:10pm, and from there it's a \~25-minute walk to Faction Brewing. Payment for the ferry can be made using a Clipper card, or by buying a ticket inside the Ferry Building. **The ferry is quite punctual, so make sure to get to Gate G on time!** *Note: It'll also be the Saturday farmer's market at The Ferry Building, so there'll be some nice grab-and-go food options available too.* **Food:** Both Faction and Almanac have food trucks, and The Rake has its own kitchen with things like sandwiches and barbecue on the menu.

Summer Potluck! (Collabo event)

Lets' get together on the island to enjoy good food, great convos and beautiful scenery of Crown Beach! Bring your favorite dish, snack, dessert and/or drinks to share. Blankets. beach chairs, outdoor games or anything else to be comfortable are also encouraged. We'll plan to grab a couple of picnic tables too. This is a collaborative event with the Alameda Ladies meetup group, but its a co-ed gathering to bring community together. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends under the warm summer sun!

August Test Kitchen

Cooks! The August Test Kitchen is happening on Sunday the 16th in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley neighborhood. This month’s optional Test Kitchen challenge is a culinary love letter to San Francisco. Celebrate the city by making a dish invented here, named after a San Francisco landmark or person, inspired by a local restaurant, or otherwise tied to the City by the Bay. We’re talking cioppino, chicken tetrazzini, Zante's Indian Pizza, Crab Louie, Green Goddess pasta salad, It’s-It ice cream sandwiches, chop suey or any other edible tribute to San Francisco’s rich culinary history. As always, this is a *test kitchen*, not a potluck. The goal is experimentation. Make something you’ve never made before, something ambitious, weird, technically challenging, or simply too intriguing to ignore. Maybe your cioppino sings with the flavors of Fisherman’s Wharf. Maybe your Green Goddess Pasta Salad separates into a tragic puddle of herbs, noodles, and regret. “Always bring it to the table!” We celebrate both triumphs and disasters, because every failure teaches us something—and makes for a good story over dinner.
