Looking at astrological chart, there are many ways to glean insights. One significant way is to consider whether planets cluster in its northern, southern, eastern or western zone. Join us and guest speaker, Elisabeth Grace, to explore how to analyze these hemispheres in the chart.
No chart is perfectly balanced. In many charts, there may well be a bevy of planets appearing in the east, west, south or north. This dominant hemisphere reveals many insights about personality.
During the first part of the meetup, Elisabeth will explore North and South. In the chart, a luminary or planet is considered to be in the chart’s upper southern hemisphere when it is above the Ascendant / Descendant axis. If it falls below this axis, it is in the lower northern hemisphere. The balance between these two areas suggests how the individual experiences the dichotomy of subjective and objective. Observations about north and south can assist with the lifelong task of integrating internal and external worlds.
During the second part of the meetup, Elisabeth will contrast East and West. If a planet is positioned to the left of the Midheaven/ Imum Coeli axis, it is considered to be in the eastern hemisphere. If it is placed to the right of that axis, then it falls in in the western hemisphere. Planetary distribution between these two zones reveals how the person approaches polarities like independence/dependence and self-motivated/peer-motivated. Insights about east and west can empower us to better navigate the tug of war between the self and other.
