THE BEAR presents: COLD - Stories about breaking the ice
### **THE BEAR** presents: **COLD**
*A night of true, personal storytelling*
Winter has a way of showing us where warmth is missing — and where it suddenly appears.
This month at **THE BEAR**, we explore the theme COLD: stories about distance and closeness, breaking the ice, emotional frost, quiet loneliness, or jumping into cold water — literally or metaphorically.
On stage, everyday people from Berlin share true, personal stories, told live and without notes. No acting. No fiction. Just real experiences, shared in a warm, cozy atmosphere.
You don’t need to know anyone.
You don’t need to be “into storytelling.”
**Just come, listen, and be part of the room.**
**🔥 What to expect**
• 8 short, true stories (about 5–7 minutes each)
• Live music throughout the night
• A relaxed, welcoming audience
• Laughter, honesty, and moments of quiet connection
**We start as strangers — and often leave feeling a little closer.**
**🎤 Want to tell a story?**
Anyone can put their name into our legendary hat. Names are drawn at random — courage counts more than experience. If you’d like feedback on your story beforehand, just write to us.
hello(at)thebear-storytelling.de
**💬 Language note**
Stories are told in English (and sometimes German).
**Everyone is welcome — listeners and storytellers alike.**
**If winter feels cold, let’s warm up together.**
**We’d love to have you there 🐻✨**
🎤 Open Stage · True personal stories (5 minutes)

PEACES: A framework for practical sustainanbility
**A practical approach to understanding, creating and maintaining balance across 6 dimensions of sustainability.**
A talk and workshop by Scott Bolden, co-founder of Baumhaus Berlin.
What does it mean to live a sustainable life while contributing to creating a sustainable society and world? What are some practical and effective ways in our daily life to achieve these objectives in the short and long term?
**PEACES is an acronym** describing six integrated areas of sustainability (**Personal, Ecologic, Aesthetic, Cultural, Economic & Social**) where we as individuals as well as organizations can have direct and positive impact on ourselves each other and the world right now.
During this short workshop, Scott will explain the framework and give practical examples in the context of how the framework applies to what happens in everyday life. Participants of all levels of experience are invited to join in the conversation and also identify some practical steps that they can start taking on their path towards living a sustainable life.
• Please arrive early enough to have time to explore and settle in so we can get the most out of our time together
• Bring a notebook and an open mind...
Workshop places are limited, please confirm participation with a short email to info@baumhausberlin.de with the subject: PEACES
Donate-as-you-feel after the workshop (includes coffee, tea & snacks)
We ask participants to consider:
• their personal budget
• the value of their experiences during the workshop in the Baumhaus
• the value of supporting the Baumhaus so that we can continue facilitating these and various other types of experiences

Soundness Check Circle | Mental Health Support
Hi, I am Zoe, a software engineer by profession. I have been running this support group since a year 😇
What to expect in the circle:
\- The first 45 minutes we can spend to get coffee and settle down
\- On a volunteer basis\, each of the attendee will then get some time to share things that they are dealing with\, perhaps for 2\-5 minutes
\- You can skip sharing even if you are in a circle\, there's no force \(and there will never be\) on you to share\, staying silent and listening is completely ok
\- Attendees can recommend books or reading material if they like

Life gets heavy sometimes — and we believe no one should carry that weight alone.
This discussion circle is a supportive space where we gather to speak openly about our struggles, mental health journeys, and personal challenges — without fear of judgment. Whether you’re facing anxiety, burnout, grief, or just feeling lost, this is a time for real talk, real people, and real healing.
We’re not therapists or professionals — we’re humans navigating life, just like you. What we offer is empathy and understanding.
What to expect:
• Respectful conversations
• Listening without pressure to fix
• Optional prompts to get things flowing
• A calm, welcoming environment
Come as you are. You don’t need to have it all figured out.

🌿 Seitai Group Session — A Journey Into Your Body’s Natural Wisdom
❗️To RSVP for event, please drop a message to the host ❗️
Come join us for a gentle yet powerful **Seitai group practice** — a space where silence, breath, and spontaneous movement meet. This is a **donation-based event**, so you’re free to contribute what feels right (usually 5–10€).
✨ **What is Seitai?**
Seitai (整体) is a Japanese practice that helps you reconnect with your body’s innate intelligence. Through subtle awareness and guided techniques, you’ll be invited to:
* **Listen deeply** to your body through *Yuki* (a meditative, hands-on practice of sensing and following the breath).
* **Release hidden tension** with *Katsugen* — allowing involuntary, spontaneous movements to arise naturally.
* **Find balance** in stillness and movement, letting your body recalibrate itself in surprising ways.
Seitai is not about control or forcing; it’s about giving voice to the movements your body has been waiting to express. Sometimes this brings ease, clarity, and lightness. Sometimes it stirs up dizziness, discomfort, or emotions. Every experience is valid — and you are always free to pause or leave at any time.
🌌 **Why join?**
* Discover a practice that many find deeply transformative.
* Create space for release, renewal, and vitality.
* Explore in community, whether you’re a curious first-timer or already familiar with Seitai.
👕 **Practical details**
* Wear comfortable clothes.
* Bring openness and curiosity.
* Watchers are welcome — you can simply observe, or dive into active practice.
* The session is guided, but the real teacher is your own body.

Anger and Resentment, How to Handle their Source and Live a Better Life
Wouldn’t it be nice to find a way to overcome your feelings of anger so that you not only control them, but you no longer have the urge to lose your temper in the first place?
And how about being able to shake off resentments, persistent annoyance, or even feelings of vengeance?
We’d like to invite you to an event on how to overcome anger and resentment. We will show you why people have trouble controlling their temper and where resentment comes from.
Flaring anger can ruin a meeting, a relationship, an opportunity, or just about any aspect of life. Worst of all, outbursts towards our family can create hurt that lingers throughout a lifetime.
You want to have a civil conversation, and you’ve vowed that you wouldn’t lose your temper, but a few minutes later, the anger flares up. Maybe you’ve realized that being angry doesn’t get you what you want so you internalize it. Or maybe you avoid the knockdown, drag-out fights, but stewing in resentment is exhausting and takes an emotional toll.
In this event we show you how to get to the root of your anger so that it stops being an issue to you. You’ll also learn why people harbor resentments and how to move on.
Don't continue to struggle, make a difference in your life, and join us for this local event.
Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to the event. We look forward to seeing you there.
This Meetup is sponsored by your local Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center.

• Show up and try it out.
• Complete application, etc. later.
Normal process

• Attend orientation in advance.
• At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility.

The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month.
