The natural blend of art and science poured into the brewing scene inspired him to take up the craft. Working alongside brewers in Oregon and Colorado, Mark honed his own artisan beer recipes. An old friend looking to start a brewpub and music hall back in Charlottesville eventually lured Mark back to Virginia. In September 1999, they partnered to found Starr Hill Brewery out of a passion for great beer and live music. Named after the local neighborhood, the brewery shared its original space with the Starr Hill Music Hall. Free flat-fix classes!! On the last Tuesday of each month, we host fix-a-flat classes! Bring your bike with you if you'd like to learn by using your own bike. We will cover basic flat fixes with an inner tube. We may be able to answer a few questions about tubeless, but the focus will be flat fixes for inner tubes.

We will have open shop hours for anyone to bring their bikes to work on or need help fixing your own bike. We will also have bikes that need to be fixed so you can learn if you like. We will need everyone to sign in when arriving and sign out when leaving so we can keep track of volunteer hours and shop times. Join DC Metro Crafts for an additional meetup this month, this time in NW at the Cleveland Park library. It's about a block from the Cleveland Park metro. We'll be in the 2nd floor conference room. Bring your own cross stitch, knitting, crochet, or other portable craft.

Come the whole time or if you just spend 30 minutes. All are welcome. You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own coloring supplies but, if you don't have any, I will have plenty and am happy to share! (coloring books, colored pencils, and markers). Part of the mission of this group is to provide us an opportunity to check out AND SUPPORT local businesses. This is an opportunity for volunteers to support a professional mechanic as he guides customers working on their own bikes. If you know how to do some basic repairs, that's a plus, but even if you don't, you can greet customers and manage who gets helped next. Feel free to attend for only a portion of the time if you can't be there the whole three hours. Please note that this event is not usually an opportunity to learn about bicycle repair, since the mechanic tends to be very busy helping customers, especially during the warmer months. But it's a great way to contribute to Velocity, since almost all the funding for the volunteer program comes from the work done at the shops.

This is a support & co-work sesh for anyone doing the scary thing of building something new (a business! substack! a pop-up shop! a website! whatever is your current calling!) on their own that want to connect, support each other, and provide compassionate accountability. This group is especially for folks seeking to imbue more life into this world and create change through their creative endeavours. We'll gather at a coffee shop, introduce ourselves and what we are working on, set small goals on what we need communal support on for the day and get co-working. Given the purpose of the group, we ask that the work you bring is related to the something you are building! We'll then get to chat about how that went for us, and celebrate our little or big progress.

Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs. In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps.
