FRIDAY Asian Language Exchange [PLEASE READđ]
Come exchange Asian Languages that you speak!
***GRAB A DRINK AND YOU WILL BE ALL SET TO FLEX YOUR LANGUAGE CAPACITY. YOU NEED TO GET AT LEAST A DRINK OR FOOD :) To get the event going and show support. We know that you like our events. P.S. : We have non-alcoholic drinks as well.***
We have a tiny venue and we hit capacity often and early arrival is suggested.
We have the discretion to decide entry.
We will assign tables for represented languages. All languages are welcome! However we don't guarantee the availability of a partner in that particular language, you would like to exchange.
As you all remember well, this event used to bring out hundreds of people every week. However, it was discontinued last year for obvious reasons and we couldn't gather that many people now, because of restrictions. Hence, we are downsizing and caping the number of attendees. We have super limited spots and advance ticket purchase is required.
***AFTER THE HAPPY HOUR, WE HIT THE DANCE FLOOR! BRING YOUR DANCING SHOES, WE WILL DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY!***
HOW IT WORKS : We will try to assign tables for each represented languages and will direct attendees to their respective tables accordingly. All languages are welcome! However we don't guarantee the availability of a partner in that particular language, you would like to exchange.

Hiker Happy Hour - The Crown and Crow
HHH Spring Edition.
Does disappearing into the wilderness with a group of strangers put you on edge? Then come to a casual happy hour and get to know us first. This is a great time to meet your fellow outdoor enthusiasts and get connected - without needing to gear up.
This time, let's go to DC and check out The Crown & Crow (Logan Circle). 7pm. The Crown & Crow is a massive underground bar with a speakeasy feel. The only signage outside is a gold emblem of a crow with a crown on it's head. Once you see this, follow the stairs down to the bar.
Please update your RSVP if your plans change so that we have an accurate headcount. Thanks!

Is Peace Possible?
The idea of achieving âWorld Peaceâ is thought by some to be a utopian fantasy â a dream â something that sounds nice but is too far out of reach. But is it really? What if peace is not just possible but actually inevitable?
Humanityâs history is riddled with war and conflict. There isnât a community in this world that hasnât in some way been touched by war and their effects, with so many still suffering today. Though we have made great strides as a global society, we still seem to be surrounded by aggression and hate, by injustice and inequity. Conflict seems to rule society in our media, economic, political, and religious systems. Many even believe that conflict is intrinsic to human nature. But is it actually? Or do we have a higher calling as our true, spiritual nature? Might recognizing and nurturing this nature help us move beyond this cycle of destruction?
Destruction is easy, but peace is difficult. It must be built and it must be maintained. At times this task can seem daunting to say the least. But itâs not out of reach. All around us we can find glimmers of hope and the promise of a better world. But how can we actually achieve it? Is it a process out of our hands? Or do we have agency in bringing it about â and in determining how quickly? Is there a role that each of us can play in achieving the promise of world peace? Are there spiritual qualities and virtues we can develop to bring about the changes necessary to achieve this? How might we support one another as we work together to build a more secure, more peaceful world?
Come join a different kind of conversation â one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the underlying truths that unite us all â on what will be required to achieve true and lasting peace.
Join us for an open and respectful conversation where participants can share perspectives, experiences, and insights.
Whether you come to speak or simply to listen, all thoughtful voices are welcome.

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for April is "Water"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!

In Person Event: The Secrets to Mental Health
Mental Health, how do you understand it? How can you improve it?
How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself.
Have you ever suffered from a traumatic experience, a deep loss or been through a painful breakup? Has your ability to communicate suffered as a result? And after that, even though you "moved on" did you find that things were never quite the same? Have you ever looked at childhood photos, or reminisced your early life and wondered where that happiness and spark went?
Are your emotions out of your own control? Have you ever felt, even if you arenât aware of it, that possibly you are getting in your own way of your happiness and success? How does this affect your self-confidence?
Find out what is at the root of all stress, anxiety, depression and self-doubt. Find out how and why you hold yourself back from achieving your goals and having the life you have dreamed of. As soon as you learn what is at the root of these unwanted conditions, youâll see it is something you can DO something about. You will not be labeled or categorized at this MeetUp.
This group is hosted by the Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
