Angine de Poitrine (waiting list available)
Angine de Poitrine (waiting list available)
The hottest band in the country right now, Angine de Poitrine are a polka dot-clad duo who play strange, quirky funk rock. When they do sing, it's in some strange alien language (which could be Canadian French). This is going to be their debut UK gig and even though it's been long sold out, I'm putting it on here for anyone in the group who might have a ticket or might be able to get one through the resales. Come hang out! Here's a reminder of the kind of thing you'll be seeing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ssi-9wS1so If you fancy it, let's grab a pre-pint at the Underworld at 7pm and head in afterwards.

1 DAY Film-jam No.123
This event will be for people to meet, go off and film, come back and enjoy the results. Whatever you want to do, be it film, act, direct or even just sort of hang around at the back then this is the event for you! MEET AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE NATIONAL THEATRE. If you are wondering what this group can provide for you, it’s above all else friendship with other like minded people, whether you are a screenwriter, director, cameraperson, actor etc etc. With that in mind, on Saturday we will do the following: 1. We’ll meet at the National Theatre on Southbank. 2. We’ll split into two groups (or more if needed) 3. Each team will try and beat the other teams to a pub in EC1 in London and edit (maybe) the film. BUT 4. Each team must make a 2 minute 30 seconds film on the way with a beginning middle and end, a solid story arc for the main character, etc. Remember to bring: 1. You and your enthusiasm 2. A camera (iPhones dslrs whatever) 3. Someone willing to do an edit after we arrive back at the on their computers All teams will then meet-up at a pub in EC1 and watch what we have filmed, happy with what they have learnt! The first team that finishes gets a Small Prize! Hopefully then, you will stick around to have a great time chatting about film, meeting new people, and forgetting about work until the late hours. Look forward to seeing you there! If there are no more places available on meetup then MORE tickets available on eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/ben-52750032443 Please Check Dates as this isnt a weekly meetup
All Out of Bubblegum Film Club 138 / The Square
All Out of Bubblegum Film Club 138 / The Square
The Square is a 2017 satirical black comedy film written and directed by Ruben Östlund. The film stars Claes Bang, Elisabeth Moss, Dominic West and Terry Notary. A Swedish production with co-production support from Germany, France and Denmark, it was shot in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Berlin. The story was partly inspired by an installation Östlund and producer Kalle Boman had made. Östlund was also inspired by a notorious incident involving Oleg Kulik and cast Notary in a parody, drawing on Notary's experience imitating apes. The film was entered into the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, where it received positive reviews and won the Palme d'Or. It was subsequently selected for the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. It went on to win six European Film Awards, including Best Film; two Guldbagge Awards, including Best Director; and other honours. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards. Please note we will not be showing the film at the meeting. Make sure you watch the film before you attend and then come and join in with the conversation. It’s just a discussion. It’s not a screening. We will be meeting in The Ludski Bar in the Rio Cinema. ***This month we go see The Devil Wears Prada 2!*** Andy Sachs reunites with Miranda Priestly as they navigate their careers amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing. # "Bitchy one-liners, devious double-crossing and Lady Gaga" -sounds like fun I don't want to miss. JOIN ME? I'm in G8. For anyone interested in a meet & greet before the movie, I'll be at the bar for drinks and a snack by 630. Text me at **(571) 293-1316** to connect.
