Free Public Speaking Meeting - Kings Speakers
Free Public Speaking Meeting - Kings Speakers
A friendly Toastmasters club helping people overcome fear of public speaking, social anxiety, or stammer—no pressure, just support! Sometimes the hardest part is just starting. This quote captures that beautifully. “Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” St Francis of Assisi **\- What our group is about** Kings Speakers is a public speaking Toastmasters club which provides a relaxed and supportive environment for people who experience anxiety or fear when speaking in public. It offers the opportunity to practice in a safe space without judgement, helping you to build confidence and gradually overcome your fear of public speaking. Our meetings take place on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month (excluding public holidays) from 19:00 to 20:30. We gather on the first floor of the Windsor Castle pub, conveniently located near Victoria Station (nearest exit Cardinal Place). **\- What we'll do at our events** A typical meeting agenda includes prepared speeches, table topics (impromptu speaking), and evaluations. **1\. Prepared Speeches:** * Members prepare speeches in advance, following the guidelines of Toastmasters educational manuals. * These speeches are typically between 5 and 15 minutes long. * Members choose their own topics, but they often relate to the educational manuals. **2\. Table Topics:** * Table Topics is a segment focused on impromptu speaking. * A designated Table Topics Master presents a topic, and members (and sometimes guests) volunteer to speak about it for a short period, usually 1-2 minutes. **3\. Evaluations:** * Evaluators, who are assigned to each speaker, provide constructive feedback on the prepared speeches. * Evaluations typically include positive reinforcement, identification of strengths, and suggestions for improvement. * This element is considered crucial for helping members refine their speaking skills. **\- Who should join our group** If you experience anxiety or stage fright when speaking in public, if simple conversations, meeting people, and everyday social interactions are a challenge, we can help you push your limits to beyond what you thought possible. Overcoming your fear is easier than you think. You are welcome to come along to just observe without speaking or participating in any activity. You are also free to step into the spotlight during Table Topics to practice your impromptu speaking and boost your confidence! Don't let fear hold you back - join us and become a confident and compelling speaker! **\- Any dues or fees we plan to charge members** Guests can attend 3 meetings for FREE. After this, if you decide to become a member, the cost is £72 for 6 months (+£25 one off fee for new members) and includes access to **Pathways**. This structured program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to help you achieve specific communication and leadership goals. Continuing your journey through a Pathway will provide you with the tools and guidance necessary to reach your full potential. We expect from our members to select a Pathway. The six paths are: * **Dynamic Leadership:** For those who want to build strategic leadership skills. * **Engaging Humour:** To become a more humorous and engaging speaker. * **Motivational Strategies:** Focuses on motivational leadership and communication. * **Persuasive Influence:** Helps develop leadership skills in complex situations. * **Presentation Mastery:** A path dedicated to honing public speaking skills. * **Visionary Communication:** Geared toward developing communication skills for a variety of audiences. To learn more about the Pathways, please visit https://www.toastmasters.org/education/pathways **\- The group's affiliation** Kings Speakers is affiliated to **Toastmasters International**, a non-profit educational organisation that operates clubs worldwide to help people develop communication and leadership skills. Toastmasters International is a global network of clubs where members practice public speaking, gain confidence, and learn leadership skills through a learn-by-doing approach. https://www.toastmasters.org/ **Got questions?** Please reach out at kingsspeakerstm@gmail.com
Rabble - Fitness Through Games!
Rabble - Fitness Through Games!
A Rabble session is 1 hour of fun and social team games. Each game disguises high-intensity intervals within the rules, giving you an effective, all-body workout without even realising it. We play a bunch of different games at each session (like British Bulldog, Capture the Flag, Dodgeball, Frisbee and many more), and every class is different. Sessions are open to all, no matter your sporting ability. Each game is explained before we start, so there's no need to have played any of the games before. Come solo or bring friends! And stay at the end for the social part! Who knew getting fit could be this fun? **HOW TO BOOK**: **It's essential that you book onto sessions via our website, using the link below**; due to restrictions on games and preparation times we cannot accept walk-ins, or late arrivals. [https://joinrabble.com/locations/london/](https://joinrabble.com/locations/london/) Use the code **FREEPLAY** to get your first game free! *** We play every: * Monday in Finsbury Park (19:00 - 20:00) * Tuesday in Shoreditch Park (19:00 - 20:00) * Wednesdays in Elephant & Castle (19:00-20:00) * Saturday in Southwark Park (10:30 - 11:30) * Saturday in Finsbury Park (11:00 - 12:00) * Sunday in Clapham Common (12:00 - 13:00) We hope to see you playing soon! PS. We have a group of dedicated regulars, so numbers are usually much higher than meetup might suggest. This is Surrey’s answer to the Three Peaks: a big, hilly, 27km endurance hike linking the three highest summits in Surrey: Leith Hill, Holmbury Hill and Box Hill in one demanding day. It is a proper physical test: long distance, repeated climbs, steep sections, fast-moving trails and over 760m of total ascent. That is comparable to climbing a major UK mountain, but packed into a tough day hike from London. We begin from Holmwood and climb first towards Leith Hill, the highest point in South East England at 294m. The summit is crowned by the 18th-century Gothic Leith Hill Tower, with far reaching views across the Weald, towards the South Downs and, on a clear day, back towards London. From there, we continue along ancient sandy trails and wooded ridges towards Holmbury Hill, a beautiful summit with the remains of an Iron Age hill fort and sweeping views over the surrounding Surrey countryside. The final major objective is Box Hill, one of the South East’s most famous walking landmarks. Its chalk slopes, steep climbs and classic viewpoints make it a fitting final peak after a long day across the Surrey Hills. Along the way we pass through a rich mix of woodland, ridgelines, open viewpoints and Denbies Wine Estate before completing one of Outdooraholics’ classic challenge hikes from London. This is not just a walk in Surrey. It is a full day endurance challenge and a brilliant stepping stone for bigger mountain adventures. **Toughness (Please Read):** This is a **very tough, long, and hilly hike** with over 700m of total ascent — comparable to climbing "Mount" Snowdon. Expect steep sections, some loose ground, and a short section where you need to use your hands it's so steep. The **pace will average 4.2–4.6 km/h** and **the hike will not be slowed down or cut short.** It is **not suitable for beginners or intermediate hikers**. Only experienced and fit walkers should join. If a participant is unable to keep pace or complete the hike, there are places they can arrange a taxi to leave the hike. If you have any doubts about your ability, we recommend choosing one of our less demanding hikes instead. 🧭 **Guide:** • Leader: [GRAHAM](https://www.outdooraholics.co.uk/MeetTheOutdooraholics.pdf) • Contact (hike day only): 07796 098487 🍽️ **Food:** • Bring a packed lunch and hike snacks, it's a long hike • Pub visit after the hike (drinks optional) 🎒**What to Bring** • Hiking boots/shoes • Water (2 litres minimum) • Packed lunch • Waterproofs (jacket and trousers) • Hat and gloves if cold • Train tickets are arranged – just meet us at the meeting point ⚠️ **Safety** Your guide is a trained hike leader and Outdoor Activity First Aider ❓ **Want to Know More?** • [New to Our Trips?](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/new_to_our_day_hikes.pdf) (perfect for first-timers, answers “what to expect”) • [About Us](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/about_us.pdf) (who Outdooraholics are, credibility, history) • [FAQs](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/FAQ.pdf) (covers common queries) 📲 **Explore More &** **Stay Connected** [Day hikes list](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/hikesbygrade.pdf) 👣 [Calendar - All trips](https://www.meetup.com/outdooraholics/events/calendar/) 📖 [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/outdooraholics/) 📸 [Facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/Outdooraholics) & [Photos group](https://www.facebook.com/groups/Outdooraholics) 📄 **Terms and Conditions** By signing up or attending you agree to our [Terms and Conditions](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/TermsConditionsOutdooraholicsHikingUK.pdf) © Outdooraholics Hiking UK Ltd 2026 E & OE

Kindly understand that This is Not an online event. We created this for the people to communicate with each other (in the comment section) to find their travel mates. However, since the Meetup site requires a date and time. We constantly have to update the date and time to keep the event alive. **Dear friends,** If you have plans to travel somewhere in the world, and you are looking for a travel mate/roommate, you can post it here to let others know, and maybe you can arrange to travel together. It would probably be a good idea to meet up before deciding to travel together but at least this will give you a chance to find a like-minded travel mate. **How to Choose the Right Travel-mate** 1. Have some common interests. 2. Avoid people who tend to extremes. 3. Agree on expenditures before you leave. 4. Make sure your personalities 5. Friends aren’t always good travel companions 6. Don’t go backpacking with a luxury-seeker 7. Make sure you’re able to communicate 8. Agree on a similar budget 9. Avoid picky, crazy and whiny individuals 10. Test each other on a short trip 11. Speak Easy (Storytelling)
Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for July is "Shoes" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!

Recruiting Virtual Mental Health Group Leaders!
Recruiting Virtual Mental Health Group Leaders!
We are recruiting new group leaders for virtual men's groups! Our primary groups are outdoor movement groups, but we are launching virtual groups for the state of Ohio and beyond and the groups will move outside in the spring, creating room for men's groups, women's groups and coed groups all over the country. Read below to learn about our groups and click the links at the bottom to apply. ### **What is an Outdoor Empowerment Group?** Our Outdoor Movement & Community Empowerment Groups are simple, guided experiences designed to help people reconnect with nature, themselves, and others. We combine some form of movement (hike, walk, run, bike, yoga, workout) and meaningful conversation within a simple community circle to create a space where individuals can support each other while prioritizing mental and physical well-being. Whether you’re seeking stress relief, personal growth, or community, our groups offer everyone a unique and welcoming environment. ## **Why Join?** * **Improve Mental & Physical Well-Being** – Movement, nature, and supportive conversations reduce stress and promote balance. * **Feel Less Alone** – Build genuine connections with like-minded people in a safe, welcoming space. * **Gain Clarity & Perspective** – Step outside daily routines and into a space designed for personal growth and reflection. ## **The Ideal Group Leader** The ideal group leader * Has a born-in passion for mental health, movement, connecting with nature and building community. * Has 5 extra hours per week to dedicate to a meaningful cause for at least one year. Yes, you can leave any organization at any time and we can also ask you to leave, but we are building with legacy in mind and we need people who can commit and be ALL IN on this mission to build with us. * Is independently financially stable with the ability to volunteer with no expectation of pay. This is a deeply beautiful journey of service that all participants commit to at Speak Your Mind. * An ability to manage groups with high emotional intelligence and desire for human connection. * An ability to self-motivate and market/promote their group on Facebook and other social platforms. * Nature informed therapy or clinical therapists/psychologists a plus. ## **Our Impact** ![](https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/64a6315db1eb8d081603d9ea/028252c7-347e-4196-8c79-b81d2a4db4bb/Mountaineering+Guide+Trifold+Brochure+in+Pink+White+Modern+Minimalist+Style+-+2.jpg) Since launching, we have helped thousands find support, connection, and healing through our Outdoor Movement Groups. 100% of participants surveyed have reported: * A noticeable improvement in mental clarity and emotional well-being. * An increase in social connection and a sense of belonging. * Said they would return again. We believe mental health should be accessible, community-driven, and rooted in nature. Join us and take the first step toward a more connected, grounded, and supported version of yourself. ### **Why Our Groups are Donation-Based** Our Outdoor Movement Groups are made possible through a donation-based model. This approach allows us to keep our events accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, while also ensuring that we can continue expanding our reach. It’s a great way to pay it forward and support the growth of this beautiful mission! Every contribution helps us: * **Cover Essential Costs** – Donations allow us to pay essential legal, marketing, insurance, and admin costs as well as nourish the important people who run the organization. * **Grow Our Mission** – With your support, we can bring these healing experiences to thousands more people in the future and execute our long term plan to expand across the USA, affecting up to 500,000 people per year. By choosing to contribute, you’re not just leading an event—you’re helping build a mental health movement that supports long-term well-being and connection for all during a severe mental health epidemic. ## **Come Join Us!** We’d love to have you be part of this growing community of people prioritizing their mental health, movement, and connection. 🔹 **Visit Our Website to Learn More:** https://speakyourmind.men/joinusoutside 🔹 **Apply Here to Lead Your Own Group!** – https://form.jotform.com/taketimespeakyourmind/sym-group-leader-application 🔹 **Support the mission**: If you resonate with the mission and want to support, feel free to join a group before applying or donate to help us reach our goals to help more people!
