When: Thursday 8th January, 3:30 pm\*\*
\*Meet at the MRT Passenger Service Centre near the Exit gantry facing the VivoCity basement.
\*\*This is a Rain or Shine event. Please take a good lunch or bring along some snacks if you feel hungry along the way. Our walks are usually between 8 - 12 km long. Just so you know, the weather may be hot but as the sun sets, the weather should be cooler.
Please be punctual. You are encouraged to be slightly early to avoid disappointments. There will be 5 minutes grace for attendance taking. Please remember that we cannot wait because this would be unfair to those already present.
This Meetup group is a community-led group by volunteers. Please extend grace in areas of inadequacy. You are most welcome to give constructive feedback; we strive for improvement!

We begin our walk at the Vivocity as we walk into Sentosa. The 500-hectare island resort is home to an exciting array of themed **[attractions](https://www.sentosa.com.sg/en/things-to-do/attractions/)**, award-winning spa retreats, lush rainforests, golden sandy beaches, **[resort accommodations](https://www.sentosa.com.sg/en/places-to-stay/)**, world-renowned golf courses, a deep-water yachting marina, and luxurious residences – making Sentosa a vibrant island resort for business and leisure. Sentosa is also home to Singapore’s first integrated resort, Resorts World Sentosa, which operates Southeast Asia’s first **[Universal Studios](https://www.sentosa.com.sg/en/things-to-do/attractions/universal-studios-singapore/)** theme park.
We will head towards the Mount Imbiah Trail where you can immerse yourself in nature and explore the waterfall. We will head towards the Mount Imbiah Birdwatching Tower where you will see the Sentosa coastline.
Next, we will go to the Fort Siloso skywalk where you will see spectacular views of the surrounding areas and coastline. Finally, we shall head to the Southernmost Point Of Continental Asia Tower where, if the weather permits, we can enjoy a great sunset view!
As an option, those who wish to stay on can wait for the Sentosa Sensoryscape to start. Sensoryscape transforms into a night-time spectacle as daylight fades. Here, guests are immersed in a nature-inspired soundscape, where interactive digital light art and augmented reality ignite the sixth sense of imagination. The ImagiNite experience plays out with light shows and digital floor projections across Sensoryscape, weaving unique narratives that are designed to marvel.

This is a Rain or Shine event. Where there are thunderstorms, we will adjourn for coffee or early dinner. We will resume the walk once the rain subsides.
Event communication will be through the event chat. Please check the event chat on the day of the event so that you will be updated on any changes.
Please try to be punctual. There will be 5 minutes grace for attendance taking. Please remember that we cannot wait because this would be unfair to those already present.
Please keep in mind that I may not respond to messages sent after the walk starts because I will be busy helping the attendees and leading the walk.

2\. Walk along Boon Lay Way/Jurong East Street 11/Jurong Town Hall Rd/West Coast Rd/West Coast Highway/Jalan Buroh/Jurong Pier Rd/Jalan Boon Lay/Boon Lay Way before ending at Boon Lay MRT
The route may be modified during the walk to better suit the group’s pace and fitness levels. The organizers will make adjustments as needed to ensure the walk remains enjoyable and manageable for all
participants.

You may consider the following:
1\. Comfortable Clothing
• Moisture-wicking fabrics: Avoid cotton, as it traps moisture and causes chafing. Instead, choose clothing made from materials like polyester, nylon, or merino wool, which keep you dry.
• Comfortable socks: Opt for moisture-wicking socks with cushioning to reduce the risk of blisters.
2\. Proper Footwear
• Well-fitting shoes: Ensure your shoes are properly broken in and provide enough support, especially if you're walking long distances. Sturdy hiking or walking shoes with good arch support are ideal.
• Blister prevention: Consider blister-resistant socks or pack blister pads to address any discomfort before it becomes a problem.
3\. Hydration
• Water bottle: Stay hydrated throughout the walk to maintain energy levels and prevent dehydration.
4\. Snacks
• Energy bars or trail mix: Portable, nutrient-packed snacks high in carbohydrates and protein—perfect for refueling during breaks.
• Nuts or dried fruit: Easy to carry and great for providing long-lasting energy.
5\. Umbrella
• Umbrella: Bring one in case of rain to stay dry and comfortable.
6\. Optional Gear
• Tissues or wet wipes: Handy for personal hygiene or cleaning your hands after eating or drinking.
7\. Small Backpack or Waist Pack

Let's do a leisure walk/hike to the green space of this 'City in Nature.' The best part? You can enjoy a mostly shaded walk through this green space, offer a slight relief amidst the recent scorching heat
PLEASE remember to bring enough water and ready with sun-protection. And weather is a bit unpredictable also - it may rain, so do prepare fo this.
**Route:** Buona Vista MRT → Rail Corridor → Banyan Tree --> Gaharu Trail --> Rifle Range → Beauty World
**Distance:** Approximately 8km - 8.5km
**Time:** 2 - 2.5 hours

A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about.

* We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space.

* If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event.
