A Celebration of English Sparkling Wine Dinner at Surveyors House
To celebrate English Wine Week, Searcys are hosting a Dinner in the elegant surroundings of Surveyors House, in the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. **The menu will be paired with sparkling wine from Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and Surrey**.
**This dinner brings together four well known English houses, and each Brand Ambassador will present their cuvée and talk about their approach and style**. We will also have an introduction from a representative of GB Wines.
Alongside this, Searcys chef has created a British menu designed to work with the wines and highlight seasonal ingredients. Each course has been paired to show how English sparkling wine can sit across a full meal, not just as an aperitif.
**Sample Menu**
**Canapés** – *Served with Digby Leander Club Rosé*
Seared salmon and Oscietra caviar nori roll
Wild mushroom and pumpkin seed bon bon
**Starter** – *Served with Silverhand Blanc de Blancs*
Charred asparagus, broad bean pesto, potato and onion seed tuile, sunflower
**Main** – *Served with an Old Vintage of Greyfriars*
Lacquered halibut fillet, black rice, Jerusalem artichoke, shellfish sauce
**Dessert** – *Served with Louis Pommery Rosé*
“Strawberries and cream”
So join us as we raise a glass to the great success of our English Wine producers.
**DIETARY ISSUES:** This event is suited to 'flexible' diners but if you have a dietary issue which requires a minor change to the menu please let me know.

**REFUND POLICY:** If you cancel your place by Thursday 18th latest you will get a refund of £90 but, IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE, only if there is someone on the 'waitlist' who books and pays for your place.

Join us for a night at the theatre as we check out Some Masterchef Sht* — a dark comedy that blends queer storytelling, uncomfortable laughs, and one of the most shocking true crime inspirations in modern memory.
Two men meet after only speaking online. Coffee is ordered. Small talk flows. The tension builds.
Is it a date?
A hook-up?
An interview?
Not quite.
Using a queer lens to reimagine one of the most infamous crimes in recent history, Some Masterchef Sht *explores loneliness, connection, mental health, people-pleasing, and how far someone might go in the name of “doing something nice”.
Expect:
✨ Dark comedy
🌈 Queer storytelling
😳 Taboo topics handled with humour
🎭 Award-winning writing
☕ Post-show chats (optional!)
Winner of the audience-voted favourite play at OffCut Manchester and following successful runs in Manchester and Edinburgh Fringe, this is the London debut production.

Wines of the Canaries Tasting at Christos' House
A first for this group - a tasting of wines from the Canaries! There are 5 islands in the archipelago of the Canaries, and this tasting will include wines from Lanzarote, Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
Canary Island wines are celebrated for their distinctive, saline, and smoky flavor profiles, a direct result of their volcanic soils and the cool Atlantic trade winds. Because the islands were largely spared from the phylloxera epidemic, many ancient vines grow on their own roots.
We'll start with 2 bottles of a white from Tenerife as the welcome wine, and then there will be another 3 whites and 5 reds, so in all 10 bottles. You can see some of the wines we will taste in the photo for this event.
Numbers will be limited to 12 people seated round one table, so almost a bottle of fine wine per person. During the tasting a selection of fine cheeses, pates, and other food will be served.
**WAITLIST:** If the event is fully booked and you would like to join the ‘waitlist’, post a comment to let me know
**REFUNDS:** The 'ticket price' for this event is £39 including £3 for paypal/meetup fees. If you cancel by Tuesday 23rd latest AND there is someone on the waitlist who pays for your place you will get a refund of £36.
**Please note that Meetup charge an additional fee to attendees on top of the price which the Organiser sets. This fee is paid direct to Meetup and is beyond our control.**
Cheers,
Christos

London Bisexual Women Games, Snacks & Wine Night: Theme: Neon After Dark 🎨💋🌃
## Bi, Pan & Queer Women’s Games Night
This is a chilled evening for bisexual, pansexual, and queer women (trans and enby inclusive) to hang out, play board or card games, sip wine (BYO to share!), snack on treats (please bring some too), and enjoy some laughs in good company.
***
### Theme: Neon After Dark 🎨💋🌃
A bold, cheeky, grown-up games night with neon graffiti energy, messy drawing, questionable guesses, and plenty of laughter. This one is for playful adult humour, dramatic doodles, and the joy of watching someone try to explain something truly ridiculous with a terrible sketch.
Think bright colours, street-art vibes, pink lights, scribbles, snacks, drinks, and a table full of people trying very hard not to lose it.
Bring snacks that feel late-night, NEON colourful, fun, or slightly chaotic. Crisps, sweets, pizza, party snacks, fizzy drinks, cocktails/mocktails, or anything that belongs under neon lights.
***
### Important Details
🗓 Location: Address sent by PM
🚇 1 min from Borough (Northern Line) or 10 mins from London Bridge

Wine Not? (Women Only)
Wine Not? is a women-only gathering before the Balancers Saturday social.
Most attendees come solo, so it’s an easy and welcoming place to meet people and settle in before the night gets busier.
London can make meeting new people feel awkward, especially if you're coming alone. This early social creates a comfortable environment where you can chat, laugh, and get to know a few friendly faces first.
Expect a relaxed atmosphere, a few light games, and plenty of time to connect naturally.
At **7.30 pm the main Balancers social begins**, and the room fills as over **150 people usually join the night**.
Wine Not? naturally flows into the rest of the evening, so you’re welcome to stay and enjoy the full experience.
Coming solo is completely normal. Our hosts will be there to help everyone feel comfortable, included, and connected from the start.

🎟️ Sunday 28th June - Girly Aerial Yoga & Catch Up - Ealing
Let’s be real... Sunday wine nights are great, but we wanted to switch things up a bit. We've hired out a private aerial yoga studio for an hour of hanging upside down and then heading straight out for drinks to debrief.
If you are currently thinking, *"I have zero core strength and can barely touch my toes"* —please don't worry, this is exactly for you. This session is entirely zero-pressure. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or your idea of stretching is reaching for your phone, you are so welcome. It’s honestly just about having a laugh, trying something new, and hanging out.
### 🧘♀️ What actually is Aerial Yoga?
If you’re picturing Cirque du Soleil, don't stress. Aerial yoga just means we swap traditional yoga mats for soft, silk hammocks suspended from the ceiling.
It feels a bit like a mix between playing on the swings as a kid and relaxing in a cozy cocoon. The hammock supports your body weight, which takes all the pressure off your joints. It means you can do deep stretches, fun beginner tricks, and even hang completely upside down with surprisingly little effort because the silk does the heavy lifting. We'll end the session wrapped up in the hammocks for a deeply calming *shavasana*.
### 🎀 The Setup
For **£30**, we’ve got the class and the gym facilities completely sorted.
* **The Class:** A 1-hour private session led by our amazing teacher, Eva. Expect super easy beginner tricks, a fun soundtrack, and a lot of giggling.
* **The Facilities:** Your ticket includes full use of the gym's premium changing rooms. We get access to the hot sauna to melt out our muscles, luxury showers, and fresh towels for everyone. *(You do not need a gym membership for this, we have access).*
* **The After-Party:** Once we're all showered and refreshed, we'll walk over to **Teatro** to grab drinks and catch up. *(Drinks at Teatro are just pay-as-you-go).*
### 📍 The Details
* **Date:** Sunday 28th June
* **Time:** Arrive at **4:45 PM** sharp so we can get into the studio for a 5:00 PM start.
* **Location:** Gymbox Ealing Broadway
* **Price:** £30
* **Capacity:** Our private studio only has 10 hammocks, meaning there are **just 9 spaces available**. It's super intimate, so it's just first come, first served.
### ⚠️ What to bring & prep
* **The Fit:** Long leggings and a long-sleeved top are highly advised. The silks are great, but they can cause friction on bare skin, so comfort is key.
* **Hydration:** Please make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day.
* **Health & Safety:** Just listen to your body and go at your own pace. If you have any medical conditions, blood pressure concerns, or injuries, just run it by your doctor and let Eva know before we start.
**Drop a message to grab one of the 9 spots. Can't wait to fly (and drink wine) with you all! ✨**
Let's Drink Cocktails while Playing 'Petanques'
Let's Have a Cocktail while discovering a typical South of France Game "La Petanque"
Join us for a relaxed afterwork drink and enjoying nice conversations in a very pleasant Provence Theme cocktail Bar in Holborn.
We'll meet inside the bar, you can ask for Caroline's table and be ready to enjoy nice drinks, corsican charcuterie or panisse.
We will enjoy a Petanque game:
The cocktail bar is an inspired Marseille Theme and we will be able to enjoy different scenarios on the only indoor petanques bar of London.
Please only register if you can attend.
The event is on you pay what you drink/ eat basis
Looking forward to seeing you there!

Sauvignon Blanc is grown in nearly every major wine-producing region, with each area highlighting a different side of the grape:
* **Loire Valley, France –** Elegant and restrained, with high acidity, citrus flavors, and flinty minerality.
* **Bordeaux, France –** Often blended with Sémillon to add texture, weight, and aging potential.
* **New Zealand –** Bold and aromatic, featuring grapefruit, passionfruit, and fresh herbal notes.
* **California –** Ranges from lean, stainless-steel styles to richer wines with subtle oak influence.
* **Italy & Other Cool European Regions –** Focused on balance, freshness, and food-friendly structure rather than overt fruit.
Wine Tasting - Newcomers Night
This is "***New Members Night***." If you are one of the many folks on the fence about coming to your first wine tasting with the *Hilliard Wine Club*, this is the night to come. There will be many other new people, so you won't be alone. And the regulars will be there to help make you feel welcome. We're a relaxed and warm group. We hope to see you.
**SIDE NOTE:** New members are welcome to ALL our Friday night wine tastings, but this night is a special overture to those who don't want to feel that they are the only new person in the room. Don't worry. You won't be. And don't hesitate to RSVP to other events.
**OLD MEMBERS NOTE**: Hey Old Members! You're not excluded from this event. We expect to see you there to help make the new members feel welcome.
**Sample 4 different wines** this Friday for $15 (*Cash or Venmo only please*). Glasses are provided. Bring a snack to share. Bring a bottle to share if you care to. See all the details below for the Hilliard Wine Club Wine Tasting. In Person. In Real Life. Actual Wine from glass bottles with corks and everything.
**Wine**: Tastings will be $15 for four samples as always. And you are welcome to bring a bottle of your favorite wine to share with others. Participation in the wine tastings is optional. But since you’re going, I will buy enough wine to cover you. If you bring your own wine and do not participate in the tasting you will only pay $10 to cover the door charge.
**Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby.
**Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass!
**Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing.
**Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, it’s still worth mentioning. We don’t have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please don’t mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions.
**Extra Wine**: After everyone has had their samples, we remove the pouring spouts and any remaining wine is poured freely to whomever wants it. I hate having leftover wine.
**Queen of Hearts**: The Queen of Hearts raffle is a fundraiser for the club and a Barnum and Bailey type extravaganza - minus the dancing ponies, clowns, and actual circus. Bring your ***cash*** as the Queen does not accept American Express or other plastic.
**After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still haven’t had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee.
Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends.
Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***,
**Red 1 Realty**
*Your Hilliard Wine Club Host*

**Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the EMPTY glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please do not make me hunt down your empty glass. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass! (ps - empty the glasses into the sink, not the trash ... please)
