Sculpting The Figure In Clay with Tebby George (5 week class)
Fri, Sep 4, 4:30 PMWhat we'll do: 5 Friday mornings from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM Figure Sculpting with Tebby George from live model. **Sept. 4 through Oct. 2, 2026** Beginning and continuing sculptors of all ages are invited to sculpt from a live model who will hold the same pose for five 4-hour sessions. There will be instruction in clay building and in human anatomy, with emphasis on gesture. Participants will be guided in preparation of pieces for firing, and provided with information on kiln firing services. The use of mason stains, underglazes, and terra sigillata will be demonstrated. These finishes will be available in class and students are encouraged to experiment with them. In this session, our model will be in a pose that works for both full figure or portrait. A separate space is provided for independent projects; those who wish to work without using the model are welcome. The class provides a relaxing environment for students to work with figures and welcomes all skill levels. Media allowed includes pencil, charcoal, pastel, ink, and varieties of water-based paint such as watercolor and acrylic. Basic drawing materials will be provided. Class Information: • 18+ years old • Drawing mediums and water-based painting materials only. • No solvent allowed. • Proof of vaccination and mask required. Charcoal Drawing Classes Meet in Art Studio in SF

All are welcome, whether you are a total beginner who want to explore, learn, or just have fun... or a more experienced artist who might want to freshen your techniques, pick up where you left off a while ago, or just enjoy the experience of drawing in a group setting and share the joy of creating art. My art studio is a place for kids M-F after school and we have day camps during school holidays. We have been in business since 2019. I have decided to include adult art classes on Saturdays and Sundays, and now we have oil painting classes 2-4:30pm, and drawing classes 5-7pm. On Sundays are have soft pastels drawing classes. We will draw still life. If there's a request for a live model, please let me know! It's a wonderful place for everyone to get together safely to have fun, learn, and bring home a beautiful piece of artwork that you have created!
