And many queer filmmakers know what it feels like to create within teams where heteronormative perspectives dominate — where queer ideas are softened, sidelined, or reduced to “niche.” We want to shift that. This is a space for queer filmmakers to come together — to connect, exchange knowledge and resources, and build a network rooted in queer perspectives and storytelling. Our monthly workshop edition serves as a kick-off meeting for a "Make one shortfilm per month challenge" where we build a team, brainstorm and conceptualise ideas together, figure out production questions and determine roles. The main purpose is to work together, have fun and build relationships that hopefully go on to do bigger projects. Let’s build the teams we have been missing!

In 90 minutes, DNA. Member CZECH STRINGS — a multi-genre DJ with 10+ years of experience — walks You through everything You need to know to make Your first mix. No prior knowledge of DJing, music theory, or equipment is required. Zero. #### **What the workshop covers:** The session starts with the essentials: what a DJ actually does, what their role is, and how it all comes together. From there, CZECH STRINGS explains the gear using the decks available at the spot as a live example, applicable to any DJ setup You might encounter in the future. #### **You will learn the core technical skills needed for Your first transition:** \* Beatmatching — how to align two tracks in tempo \* Cueing — how to prepare the next track for a seamless entry \* Track structure and phrasing — understanding how tracks are built so You know when to mix The teaching happens live from behind the DJ decks. You can follow from Your seat or gather around and watch up close. CZECH STRINGS demonstrates everything on Electronic Music, but can switch to any other genre on request. The techniques taught apply to all rhythmic music. A part of the session is dedicated to hands-on practice. You will get the chance to step up to the decks and try it Yourself. #### **Do You need to bring anything?** Nothing is required. If You'd like to bring Your own music on a USB stick, You're welcome to, but it will only work if the stick is formatted as MS-DOS (FAT) / FAT32 and the tracks have been analysed in Rekordbox beforehand. If that means nothing to You right now, don't worry. There's plenty of music ready to go. The atmosphere is supportive, focused, and hands-on. In this workshop, we will construct a simple pinhole camera, work with long exposures, and develop images using basic analog processes. No prior experience needed. All materials provided. Participants are welcome to bring small boxes, cans, or any objects that could be turned into a pinhole camera. The day includes two separate studio sessions: **Ballet Photography · 10:00–13:00** **Beauty Photography · 14:30–17:30** You can join one workshop or book the full-day package. This is not an open group shoot. The lighting setups, art direction, model guidance and shooting flow are prepared before participants arrive. Each photographer receives individual guidance during the session. The workshops are led by Burak Bulut Yıldırım — Sony Europe Imaging Ambassador, award-winning photographer, lighting specialist and photography mentor with more than two decades of professional experience. Art direction is by Meryem Aydın. **WORKSHOP 1 — BALLET PHOTOGRAPHY** 10:00–13:00 This session focuses on movement, timing, body line, light direction and building a coherent dance photography series. We will work with an experienced ballet model in a controlled studio setup. **WORKSHOP 2 — BEAUTY PHOTOGRAPHY** 14:30–17:30 This session focuses on beauty lighting, skin texture, makeup, catchlights, face direction, close-up portraiture, color control and editorial-style image-making. We will work with an experienced beauty model and a professional makeup artist. **WHO IT IS FOR** This workshop day is suitable for portrait, beauty, fashion, dance and studio photographers who already know the basic operation of their camera and want to work in a more structured production environment. Advanced amateurs and semi-professional photographers are welcome. Workshop Shading with Pencil | EN | May
Sat, May 23, 12:00 PM**You like sketching but feel your drawings lack depth?** **A solid grasp of the basics will definitely help.** Learn or refine pencil hatching and shading techniques and embrace the potential of a medium as powerful and versatile as the pencil! Take your pencil skills further with exercises to build tone, texture and volume. We will start from the basics with a broad overview, covering pencil softness, pressure control, angle, tip shape, paper tone and highlights, gradually progressing to more advanced hatching techniques. This format offers a flexible and supportive approach, adapting to each participant’s level, from helping beginners get started to guiding intermediate artists through their individual challenges. I am Alessia Sinopoli, an Italian professional artist based in Berlin, and I will be your instructor throughout this journey. **What we will do step by step:** **We will combine theory and practice with hands-on exercises.** Introduction to materials and getting familiar with the tools we will use, exploring the differences between pencils of various hardness and using graphite grades such as 2H, 2B and 6B to achieve a rich tonal range from light to dark. Hand posture and proper pencil grip for shading, with control of pencil angle. Pressure control training to learn how to vary pressure and achieve smooth tonal transitions. Contouring to define the forms with attention to angle and direction. Layering and blending by building up graphite in light layers, practicing hatching without blending tools to gain full control over tonal transitions, and then experimenting with blending to observe the differences. Enhancing highlights by using white pens or precision erasers to reinforce the brightest areas of the drawing. Sketching practice by drawing simple objects such as cherries, spheres or apples, focusing on progressive construction and conscious use of hatching to define form, depth and contrast. Discussion of common mistakes, identifying frequent pitfalls and learning how to avoid them. Personalized guidance and open Q&A throughout the workshop. **Break and refreshments:** While drawing, we will enjoy some tea. Between the first and second parts of the workshop, we will take a break, a perfect moment to connect, share a cup of coffee and enjoy a sweet treat together (vegan option available). **What is included?** **Leave home as light as a butterfly, everything is provided!** All materials are available for use during the workshop: graphite pencils of various degrees of hardness, high-quality drawing paper, precision eraser and erasers, pencil sharpeners and drawing references.
