Voice Acting Workshop: An Introduction
Tue, Aug 18, 4:00 PM**VOICE ACTING WORKSHOP: AN INTRODUCTION** Please pay [HERE](https://www.yesticket.org/event/en/voice-acting-workshop-an-introduction-18-08-26). *\*\*\* Limited spaces, please pay in advance to reserve a place \*\*\** **In the age of digital media there is a growing demand for voice-over artists, and all you need to enter the industry is a good voice, a laptop, and a decent microphone. From Youtube channels to radio, audiobooks to documentaries, this workshop offers a nuts and bolts approach to recording your own voice demo, finding paid work, and working with your voice to create a challenging but fun source of income.** *In this playful, two-hour workshop, we will use games, exercises and mock recordings to explore your potential as a voice actor.* Participant numbers are limited, so each workshop will be intimate and focused. If there is enough interest, participants are invited to natter and network with other participants in a bar afterwards. *As a widely published writer, teacher and performer, Geoff draws on boundless humour and energy, as well as over twenty years of professional experience, to bring you an engaging workshop experience.* *He has provided voice-overs for the BBC, Waterstone's, Manchester University, Listening Books as well as a number of radio plays. He recently played the comic lead in a series of commercial films for Mercedes.* Previous workshops have received an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 (83 reviews) Places are strictly limited to 12 participants. Please pay in advance to reserve your place. Bring a bottle (of water, not vodka). **Where is the workshop based?** [Atelier Ăuglein](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=%22Atelier%20%C3%84uglein%2C%20Oppelner%20Stra%C3%9Fe%2012%2C%2010997%20Berlin%2C%20Germany%22) is a creative, co-working space in Kreuzberg with a dedicated practise room for musical & vocal arts. The practise room is in the basement. It's cosy and very 'Kreuzberg' i.e. rough and ready. rIf you don't like enclosed spaces with no windows (like many studios are), this one may not be for you. **Are you available for personal coaching and corporate training?** Oh, but of course. Just speak to me in person, or email me at editor.silverscript@outlook.com, or here in the Meetup group. **PREVIOUS STUDENTS SAY âŠ** Please don't stop. I want more! *(Michael)* An engaging, naturally entertaining lecturer ⊠who articulates his points as good as any teacher I've ever had. *(Jawan)* I really dig Geoff's feedback style. I'm really grateful! *(Philippa)*

Money Talk - Break the Taboo 08.08
Sat, Aug 8, 11:00 AMThis is not financial advice. Money decides what choices are open to us, how free we are, what our relationships look like, how we see our own worth. And we still do not talk about it. Women who talk openly about money build more wealth than those who stay quiet. Money Talk exists because of that fact. This is a space, where women talk about money directly. No fear, no shame, no judgment. Just honesty, and the confidence and financial power that come from finally saying the things out loud. Most of what shapes how a woman handles money was never chosen consciously. It was picked up early, from family, from the first time asking for more felt unsafe, from every unspoken rule about what women are allowed to want or ask for. Those beliefs stay active long after the situation that built them is gone. We will look at why talking about money feels harder than almost any other subject, and what is actually happening in the body when it does. Money activates the nervous system as a question of safety and belonging, not as a math problem. Let's break the taboo together! đ„ **Les Amis** is a women-only community of friendly souls. We provide access to hundreds of experiences that explore your passions and connect you with other event participants. **Check our website to learn more, and apply to join our community and events**: [lesamis.cc/apply](https://www.lesamis.cc/apply)

The TMOD also introduces the key roles and functionaries for that session. **Prepared Speeches:** A significant portion of the meeting is dedicated to prepared speeches. Members working through various projects in the Toastmasters education program deliver speeches based on their chosen projects. Each speech is evaluated by a designated evaluator who provides feedback on strengths and areas for improvement. **Table Topics:** Table Topics is a segment where impromptu speaking skills are tested. The Table Topics Master presents a series of short, unprepared speaking challenges or questions, and members or guests are invited to come to the podium and give a brief, improvised response. **Evaluations:** Following the prepared speeches and Table Topics segment, evaluators provide constructive feedback to speakers. These evaluations focus on content, delivery, body language, and time management. The goal is to help speakers improve their speaking skills. **Reports and Functionary Roles:** The meeting may include various functionary roles, such as the Timer, Grammarian, Ah-Counter, and others, who report on their observations and contributions to the session. These roles help members improve their language and time management skills. **General Evaluator:** The General Evaluator provides an overall assessment of the meeting, highlighting what went well and offering suggestions for improvement. They may also evaluate the evaluators' performance. **Awards and Recognitions:** Toastmasters sessions often conclude with awards and recognitions, including the Best Speaker, Best Evaluator, and Best Table Topics Speaker. These awards encourage members to strive for excellence in their speaking and leadership abilities. **Closing:** The meeting concludes with closing remarks from the Toastmaster of the Day, who may express gratitude to participants and encourage them to continue their Toastmasters journey. **Networking and Socialising:** After the formal meeting, members and guests often have the opportunity to network, socialise, and discuss their experiences in a more relaxed setting.
