The Fulfilment Gap - A Morning Nature Retreat for Professionals, Sydney

The Fulfilment Gap - A Morning Nature Retreat for Professionals, Sydney

Fri, May 8, 11:30 PM
From Transformational Leaders Collective

Why is it that even accomplished, high-performing professionals can feel a quiet sense of emptiness? The more capable you become, the harder it is to see what’s actually holding you back. This immersive 2-hour workshop, inspired by the philosophy of ***The Suited Monk***, offers a grounded and practical exploration of that question. At the heart of the experience is a simple but powerful idea: many of us live with a ā€œgapā€ between who we are at our core and how we show up in our daily lives. Left unexamined, this gap can lead to restlessness, misaligned decisions, and a persistent sense that something is missing. This workshop provides a structured, reflective space to begin closing that gap. It is not a lecture or a motivational talk. It’s a thoughtful, practical experience for professionals who are ready to examine their path more deeply and take the first real steps toward a more aligned and fulfilling life. **What you’ll explore:** * **A Guided Life Journey Review** Step back from the noise of everyday life and examine your personal ā€œGapā€ - the distance between your external success and internal fulfilment. Gain clarity on what’s driving your current path, and what may be holding you back. * **Making Aligned Life Choices** Learn a practical decision-making framework you can apply to career, relationships, and major life transitions so your choices reflect who you truly are, not just what’s expected. * **Why Fulfilment Feels Elusive and How to Change That** Understand the underlying patterns that keep fulfilment just out of reach, and walk away with actionable tools to begin shifting them immediately. **What’s included:** * A copy of *The Gap*, from The Suited Monk series * A guided forest walk to reset and set intention * Coffee, tea, and light refreshments * A calm, nature-based environment designed for reflection and clarity **Location:** A private retreat house nestled in the bushland of North Epping offering a rare opportunity to step out of the city’s pace and into a space of stillness, perspective, and meaningful conversation. **šŸŽŸļø Register to attend.** Join us in person to gain clarity, direction, and a new perspective on your life’s purpose. He is originally from Belgium and has lived in China and Hong Kong for twelve years and Spain for five years. **Dirk Rossey - Former Head of L&D JP Morgan APAC** Held senior executive roles across Asia Pacific and the Middle East — including JPMorgan Asia Pacific, where he earned the Best Change Management Award, and Dubai Holding, where he served as CHRO.

Women in Projects Australia presents: Leading Beyond the Script

Women in Projects Australia presents: Leading Beyond the Script

Tue, May 19, 8:00 AM
From Women in Projects, Australia

Kick off 6pm for Nibbles and networking. Welcome at 6:30pm and then dive into our session. Our speaker, Aarti, is a senior technology and cybersecurity professional with over twenty years of experience across global teams, and the founder of Elevate with Aarti, a coaching practice for high-capacity professionals who are delivering at a high level but making decisions from an instruction set they never chose. Lead Beyond the Script Most high-performing professionals are not struggling because they lack skill or ambition. They are struggling because the internal instruction set they are operating from was written by the system rather than by themselves. This talk names that pattern, and what becomes possible when you examine it. Question Think about the last time you held back a perspective in a meeting. What were you calculating at that moment, and who taught you to calculate it? Thank you to our sponsors escient, PMI Sydney Chapter and The Commons.

Hello everyone! Join us for an Apache KafkaĀ® meetup on **May 12th from 5:30pm** The address, agenda, and speaker information can be found below. See you there! **Venue**: IBM 259 George Street Floor/Room: 17.03 \*\*\* **Agenda:** * 5:30pm: Doors open * 5:30pm - 6:00pm: Pizza, Drinks, and Networking * 6:00pm - 6:30pm: Liz Fong, Technical Fellow, [honeycomb.io](https://honeycomb.io/) * 6:30pm - 7:00pm: Ravi Bhardwaj, Principal Technical Support Engineer, Confluent * 7:00pm - 7:30pm: Additional Networking \*\*\* **Speaker:** Ravi Bhardwaj, Principal Technical Support Engineer, Confluent **Talk:** From Dumb Pipes to Smart Streams: Schema IDs in Kafka Headers **Abstract:** Most Kafka clusters still move loosely structured JSON around, making data hard to trust and reuse. Schema Registry traditionally added magic byte in the payload containing the schema id which meant adding schemas could break down stream systems. With the new Schema Registry Serdes, users can add the schema ids in the kafka record headers. In this talk we'll explore the advantages of adding the schema ids in the headers, how to make this change and what the strategies that users can follow for smooth migration to Kafka headers based schema ids. \-\-\-\-\- **Speaker:** Liz Fong, Technical Fellow, [honeycomb.io](https://honeycomb.io/) **Talk:** Making Cluster Migrations Safe and Smooth **Abstract:** In this session, we will walk through the transition from EC2-based Kafka clusters to Kubernetes-managed infrastructure. The talk will cover how the migration of several high-volume, production-critical clusters was planned, rehearsed, and executed, with a deep dive into dual-write and offset synchronization mechanisms used to ensure a smooth and reliable transition. \*\*\* If you would like to speak or host our next event please let us know! community@[confluent.io](http://confluent.io/)
