Concerts in the Park: Personal Picnic + Blue Breeze Band Jazz Night (Altadena)

Come join me on **Saturday, August 15th**, for a fun evening featuring a live performance by the **Blue Breeze Band** at **Loma Alto Park** in **Altadena**! For more than 15 years, the **Blue Breeze Band** has entertained audiences throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii with an energetic mix of Motown, R&B, Soul, Funk, Jazz, and Blues. This award-winning dance band is known for its outstanding musicianship and crowd-pleasing performances, featuring classic Top 40 hits, Motown favorites, R&B, Soul, Funk, '90s Hip-Hop, and Jazz & Blues. Bring your dancing shoes and enjoy an evening of great music, good company, and summer fun! The concert starts at 7 PM, but feel free to arrive early at 5:30 PM to hang out, get settled, and enjoy a personal picnic. There will be no group potluck. Next Century Toastmasters Meetup

Want to develop your speaking skills? Join our one and a quarter hour meeting. We start with prepared speeches. Each speaker will then receive a 2-3 minute oral evaluation to help him or her understand what was done well in the speech and what areas offer opportunities for growth. The table topics section provides the opportunity to practice thinking on your feet and impromptu speaking for 1-2 minutes. Our meetings are always fun and guests are always welcome. You may bring lunch (take out is available on the "A" level from Trimana). Parking will not be validated (rates as of 09/27/16, $4.25 for each 12 minutes, maximum $34).

Most players are **good**, trying to identify and execute the hidden **Demon**, while a small **evil team** works together to deceive the town and eliminate players each night. Unlike games like *Werewolf* or *Mafia*, eliminated players **stay in the game**—they can continue discussing, voting, and influencing the outcome until the very end. Every player also has a unique character with a special ability, creating endless strategy, bluffing, and unforgettable moments. Rimas, Ritmos y Reinas is dedicated to amplifying Latinx voices through recording, storytelling, music production, and creative entrepreneurship—creating pathways for artists to share their stories, strengthen their skills, and build lasting creative communities. 🖊️Rimas, Ritmos y Reinas👸🏽 She-sh Studio Sessions Los Angeles Hosted by The Horizon Records After a successful start of our sessions in Paris, The Horizon Records is bringing its She-sh Studio Sessions to Los Angeles with a special edition: **Rimas, Ritmos y Reinas**. A recording studio experience for women creatives where poetry, music, storytelling, rhythm, and community come together. This interactive session combines a masterclass, hands-on learning, collaboration, and recording opportunities inside a professional studio environment at Pirates Studios. Whether you're a poet, singer, songwriter, beatmaker, storyteller, creative entrepreneur, or simply someone who has always wanted to explore recording, this space is designed for you. Together we will: • Learn the foundations of self-recording and studio recording • Explore songwriting, spoken word, rhythm, and storytelling techniques • Create beats and soundscapes inspired by Latin, African, Arab, flamenco, hip-hop, and diasporic traditions • Receive live feedback and creative coaching • Collaborate with fellow artists in real time • Have the opportunity to record your own poem, story, song, or creative piece • Connect with a supportive community of women and femme creatives No experience is required. Hola amigos! We are a regular weekly Spanish meetup in the Valley to give some more choices of spots to practice tu Español! It’s for intermediate and up — we won’t speak much English, except maybe to ask a couple questions or if we get tired at the end of the night! We’ll be at a really fun bar called El Tejano in North Hollywood (hence NOHOLA - get the pun?). Find us at the table with a sign that says "Club de Español". Come join me on **Friday, August 14th** for a relaxed and fun evening at **Sunset Sessions \| Live Music & Libations in Old Town Pasadena**. We’ll **meet up at 6 PM** to grab a spot together and settle in before the music starts. **Note:** I won’t be able to reserve or hold seats, so please plan to arrive early if you’d like a good table or spot, as it can fill up quickly.
